First, I am an old man who is not that computer literate....Now, I purchased in December of last year Adobe Premiere Elements 11 from Best Buy. I reg. it with Adobe. I have all the numbers associated with the programs. My problem, my computer was destroyed and I am attempting to put back my programs on my new computer. I can't find out how to download the programs. Is there someone I can call at Adobe to help me with my problem.....?????Thanks, wash

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Why does Adobe Premiere Elements 11 download my videos to my computer so slowly?

Hey guys, I have been using Adobe Premiere Elements 11, for quite some time, and I noticed that its download speed is as slow as a turtle. I know it is not my download speed, because when I download files from the internet, or games, it goes as fast as anything. Just so you have more information, I will tell you have my recording/uploading process goes. First, I record the video (Using Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture). Then, I would send it to my video encoder. (Microsoft Expression Encoder 4). I would then encode the video, and send that output file to Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for further editing and to download it to my computer. Now, everything up to this point takes maybe 30 minutes. But when I get to Adobe, it takes more less 3 hours (give or take a few minutes). Finally, after all that waiting, I upload it to Youtube, which takes about an hour or so. My problem is Adobe is taking far to much time to install/download the video. And as a result of that, I can only put out about a video a day. Is there any way to speed that up, or should I just get a new editing software? All feedback, and help is greatly appreciated.

The typical ways to introduce media into Premiere Elements 11 is via AddMedia which puts the source media into Project Assets and from there you drag the contents to the Timeline Expert view edit.
These would be your choices.
You say that you used Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 and a picture from Photoshop Elements 11.
Given that you are doing screen captures with Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 and you have a photo from Photoshop Elements 11, but how are you introducing them into Premiere Elements 11? At the same time that we are looking into the how, we need to look into the what, especially for the screen captures. The video and audio formats and file extension among other things are important to the Premiere Elements workflow.
So, again I would ask you to offer answers to what I had asked
I am assuming that you are talking about the time it takes for the video to import into Project Assets for you to drag to the Timeline. Are you observing any indexing and/or conforming going on (bar at bottom right of Expert view interface) during this 3 hour await time?
Among other things, what are you using for Add Media and to get to Project Assets? And, the usual drill, what are the properties of your source media, including size and duration, video and audio compression, file extension, etc.? By comparison what is the size and duration of those Internet games et al. that seem to be transferring to your expectations?
Is this one of those issues where "it never worked before" or "it worked before but not now" specific to Adobe files of the size and duration and properties that you are focusing on?
I see the answers to all of the above as expediting the matter to get your concerns addressed.

Adobe Premiere Elements 11 download archive part is missing

I bought Adobe Premiere Elements 11 online 18 months ago. Switched PCs, trying to download it again to the new PC. Get this error: "The file archive part of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Premiere Elements. Please download all parts." Any ideas/help? - Jacque

you need file 1 of 2 and file 2 of 2. you only downloaded one of them (the exe). you also need the 7z.
download both, put them in the same directory and click or double click the exe.

Adobe Premiere Elements 12 downloaded and bought on windows computer, transferable to a mac?

I'm about to buy Adobe Premiere Elements 12 on my windows computer.
Can I transfer the licens for this, and other Adobe products, to a new mac computer? Or are the licenses valid on all platforms?
What do I have to do to prepare before? I've read/heard about License Inactivation on the windows installed applications, before installing on the new computer - is that all?

When you purchase Elements programs they are valid for either platform though you cannot install the PC version on a Mac, and vice versa. But you do get access to both versions for the same license. Most applications sold by Adobe are not provided for both platforms with the same license however.
You are allowed to have activated installations on two machines. You can install on as many as you like but cannot activate more than two of the installations. You can deactivate if you need to to activate somewhere else.

How can I make Adobe Premiere Elements 9 run faster on my computer?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running windows vista 32 bit, and recently adobe premiere elements 9 has been having really rough playback, meaning it will often freeze or skip many frames when I try to watch what I have edited. It also stops responding very often. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Almost any graphics adapter will do fine in PE9... it is not until you get to Premiere Pro that the graphics card makes a difference
If you only have the usual one hard drive of a laptop, a 2nd drive will help

You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708?tstart=0 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for video editing

Hello. I am using Premiere Elements 12. I am not able to burn blueray disk because I have insufficient disk space. I am using SSD drive so I need to move Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0\Encoded Files location to another drive. How can I do this?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 running on? For now, assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
In the Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Expert workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disc and set the location for the category
named Disc Encoding.

actually, note to other downloaders, when this screen below pops up,
click the link at the top of the pop up downloader to install Akamai downloader,reads : dont see the installer? try reopening it ( you click that link in the download pop up
I was only able to download 252mb of a 1.2 gig file, then had to restart the download the next day because I had used the direct links for file 1 and 2 at the bottom of that initial pop up as can be seen by the two download windows to its right, if you need to resume your download because of lost internet connection or time reasons you`ll have to start again,,
however once akamai has installed automatically, or you downloaded and installed manually, you`ll get this download window when you attempt downloading premiere elements 8 (or any other adobe software).
once the download is complete a golden yellow tab will read "install now" in the akamai downloader window,
unfortunately for me I received the following error on installation, even if trying to install to different folder I get the same error,
trying to manually open the file gets me this error
so far this has been a breeze,
using win7 64bit. quadcore. HP pavillion laptop. shouldn`t matter

The form is in the client side, with AJAX I should issue a Xml request to the server... but the values are in the form... Please consider posting the following information
1. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on?
2. What error code are you getting and what are you doing with the program when you get that message?
"Licensing or something" is not going to do for a description.
Has the program worked for you and suddenly will not? Or, are you just starting to use the program?
We just had a success story dealing with a Premiere Elements licensing issue within the past 24 hours.
The solution might work for you also. But we need to know at least the above information before we can
marching into a licensing issue.

For your computer and Internet connection, I would turn off firewalls, and set the browser's security to low - just for this download.
Turn OFF all anti-virus, popup-blocking and spy-sweeping software (especially if they use real-time scanning) - just for this download.
Next, turn OFF all power-saving, hibernation settings and screen-savers - for just this download.

How do I install Premiere Elements 11 onto a Windows 8 computer?

It only gives me options for Windows 7 64 bit and the earlier Windows system. Whichever one I choose, it tells me it cannot save the file onto the c: drive. Advice?

How to get Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to Recognize Proxy files created on an Omneon Server

I work for a non profit at Rice University. For years we have been shooting multicam and recording to an Omneon Server system. The Omneon creates its own proxy files which we used to just load onto Fincal Cut 7. We have now upgraded our computers and programs and are using Premiere Pro CS6. When I load the Proxy file created by Omneon, Premiere won't recognize the file as a proxy, it will just tell me there is no video or audio attached to the file.
