How to get and watch movies?

Hi,
I don't know how to get movies or watch movies via iPad 2 or is it even possible?

If the Vantaa that you are in is in Finland then you can only get 'short films' from the Apple iTunes store in your country (according to this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599). And as the terms of use of the stores state that you cannot use another country's store, then unfortunately you won't be able to get full movies from Apple - whether the reason that they are not available in Finland is due to your country's laws and/or licensing issues I don't know.
There might be other download sites where you can purchase films that are compatible with the iPad, but as I don't use any I can't name any.

I agree. With a 16 gig you'll find that you only have room for a couple of movies once the operating system and any other apps take up their space.
The other alternative would be to look into something like a wireless harddrive, where you can store your movies and stream them to your iPad via an app. However if you're purchasing content from iTunes that may/may not work. So if you consider that you may want to dig a little deeper and make sure it'll do what you want it to do.

Ok so I've been doing more testing. It's all videos on the iTunes store. Anytime I try to download a podcast or stream it or anything it's super slow. To download an episode of Diggnation it tells me over 2 hours to download but the time keeps climbing and I just stop the transfer.
Some people said it's an Open DNS thing? Maybe it is but it's not computer specific and I couldn't find a way to change the DNS settings in my Airport, only on each computer. I tried deleting PLists and restoring my Apple TV and restoring my Airport and nothing is working.
I don't know if it an issue with me, my ISP or Apple. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Go to iTunes and make sure you are signed in to your apple Id and then go to the iTunes store and click buy on a movie or tv show you want to buy. Then in the downloads section it will download and you have to wait for it to download then go to the videos app and you can watch the movie.

I just got Ultimate HD. I used to have an old Extreme HD package with the "HBO Cinemax Showtime Starz Ent Pk" add-on for $36. When the upgrade was installed I lost my movie channels, except for those included in Ultimate HD (Showtime, TMC, and EPIX).
Does anyone know how to get the remaining movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Encore) added? The web only offers HBO, Cinemax, or an HBO/Cinemax combo. Starz and Encore aren't offered as an option and neither is the entertainment pack I had before. I've called into customer support and they were only able to offer packages similar to the web.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

The other packages are available. You sure you don't see them as upgrade options when your on the login to my verizon on the web? You actually can also order them through the stb, although I don't know anyone who tried that.

I've done this before. First, I had the current acct owner call in and say it's okay for me to assume liability on the line. Next, I called in and explained that the owner already called and gave permission for me to assume the line. Notes were on the account. This little FAQ will only cover the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
First thing too do is unistall any older version of the MSI Bluetooth Software.
Do this through the Add/Remove program applet in your control panel.

After rebooting the computer you will see the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. If it's Red then try too start the Bluetooth services by right click on the try icon and the only alternetiv there is.
If the Bluetooth services is asking for a valid licens.dat then you should do the following.
Surf to Jon's Bluetooth guide http://www.jonsguides.com./bluetooth/prepare.html and download the patcher from the link there.
Unzip the the patcher and then run the BTWPatcher.exe program.
Now the Bluetooth services will start and you will bee able too configure your own settings for the Bluetooth services.
If nothing of this work you could try the complete Bluetooth solution at Jon's gudie and install the IBM version of the same program. I havent test this solution and will not do soo.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

How to get my SD movies onto imovie??

I have a new canon camera and have been using it for movies as well as for photos. The clips seem to import to iphoto but, for the life of me, I can't get them into imovie to edit - either with a card reader or by transferring them from iphoto.
I am sure this topic has been covered, but I can't seem to find a relevant post. This camera does record in HD, which I have heard has problems, but I am not using the hd settings. How can I get my movies into imovie? Also, does it take up colossal amounts of room to store videos on a smaller hard drive ( my macbook is only 80 GB ) I wonder should I backing them up to an external drive right away, for storage purposes..? That is if I manage to actually import the video....
Is the card reader the problem? It is quite new and I have had no other problems using it with other devices. Many thanks....

iM is a bit.. iffy, when it comes to the definition, what a 'camera' is. historically, only tape based machines were a movie-camera. nowadays still-cams allow movin' images too..
but, as mentioned above: the intended workflow is: material from photo cameras (even when they move) => import via iPhoto; material from video cameras (even when they don't move.. ) => iMovie
when the import is done, you'll notice in all iLife apps the 'media browser' - in iM09, on the very right, the icon with a camera on.. click it, presto, all (incl. your 'videos') your iPhoto Library at hand for usage in iMovie.

How do get a QuickTime movie to play?

It seems to play fine on Macs, which I use and where I created it, but I have been looking at some Windows computers and it doesn't seem to play. I can get other QuickTime movies to play on them, so I know QuickTime is installed; other movies seem to open automatically and start to play. But on Windows machines, when I click my movie nothing happens. There's a little icon in the corner, but right-clicking, option-clicking, etc. does nothing. I have asked friends with Windows and QuickTime to see if they can play it, but no luck. Can anyone tell me how I should put the movie up on my page so that people who have Windows with QuickTime can play it? Many thanks for help.

If you encode the video for Flash, the most common format used on YouTube, then people will be able to view the video as long as they have Flash Player installed. Without Flash, they can't see YouTube videos, so there's still something that some people may have to install. More and more videos, particularly those intended for playback on iPhones, are using h.264, so you may just want to tell people that they need QuickTime 7 to play your videos. Your choice, of course.
