The 1 year anniversary is to the Original "New" purchase from Apple or designated seller. It does not apply to purchasing used.
So if you bought it new in May 2010, and purchased & activated APP prior to the anniversary date, then it will extend your warranty until May 2013.

Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion 10.7.2 to connect with Exchange 2007? It worked perfectly with Snow Leopard... upgraded to lion and it won't work. We use Exchange 2007 with SP 3 and Rollup 4. Won't connect... and I can't get Apple to give me any direction.

We finally got it to work today. We had to call and pay for the microsoft support service, but the issue was on the server end. We had to go into the iis manager... went to sites... when to default website...and changed the SSL settings for Auto Discover, EWS Exadmin, echange, exchweb, owa... and the rest..
Change the settings to ignore client certificates.
Problem solved. Can finally send and receive.

He suggested this forum as he believed postings were read by Apple. I have been able to access the sites via apps on Samsung pad no problems. Don't really want to ditch my iPad and iPhone though.

I was wondering can I still get apple care on my Mac BookPro 13" I got it in Late 2011?

The starting clock is actual date of purchase. And they do count all of the actual day even you bought it at 6 PM. And if you buy it online "purchase date" is when they process your card, not when you receive it.
Get AppleCare a week in advance to be sure all snafus in getting it activated will not push you beyond that first year.

Leave feedback for Apple at www.apple.com/feedback, or contact your email provider. It's the email providers that give that info to Apple, so both parties need to be updated.

Hi there, if I get apple care for my iphone 4 (next up to be discontinued) and it breaks within the 2 year coverage and after it is discontinued what will happen?
Will I be reimbursed, given a refurbished phone, a newer model etc. etc.

Apple replaces devices like for like. For example, they no longer sell iPhone 3GS's but if you had one serviced right now it would be replaced by the exact same model.

AC Power Cord -- how not to get Apple Care replacement - is there a written policy?

I had a cord about 8 years ago that was replaced by Apple Care (it no longer charged the old Mac Powerbook).
Well, my power cord a few laptops on (my present MacBook Pro 2011) needed to be replaced (the connection at the end where the cord meets the body appeared worn -- maybe I streched it out or kinked it too much). And so I checked here and googled other forums to see if I could take it into the Genius Bar rather than deal with Apple Care on the phone. It appeared from the discussions here and elsewhere that Powercords were sometimes replaceable, and sometimes not.
The Genius bar refused to replace it. I'm not upset because, as a temporary measure, where the cord was worn, I opened up the insulation to see if I could adjust the wiring to get the to work. Tweaking it did get it to charge for another few days (work deadlines!) until I could get to the Genius Bar. But it's probably because I opened up the insulation that they balked at replacement.
So it goes.
But I do wish Apple Care would've covered it. It's not super expensive but in this crummy economy, every little bit helps.
Maybe it depends upon the luck of the draw: who you get to accept (or reject) the return? Or is this thing warranted only in a "discretionary manner"? Is there a written policy?
I guess I could try to go through Apple Care on the phone, but I'd have to send my old cord back from what I can tell, and then might get charged for the new one?
Anyway: just a recommendation: if you're cord is on the fritz, don't tamper with it to try to get it to work: you might endanger your chances of getting an Apple Care replacement.

It really depends on how you treat the objects you own. If you kink/bend/twist the MageSafe end of the AC charger what do you expect. There are no kinks or bends or twists in my AC charger and it is 16 months old and wrapped up almost daily to be put in my bag.

Sorry, no. Apple-care must be purchased within the first year of ownership.

How to contact Apple Care since the recall?

Just my luck that I need Apple Care today of all days. You can't get through via telephone all you get is the message to call back. Need to see if I can get a new key board as the current is about half blank. Can't even get through on the support page trying to check my Apple Care status. With the battery recall every Apple website or telephone is jammed. Is there any way to contact Apple Care other than the telephone? Or do we just have to wait until next week when things calm down?
At this point I can't even find out when my Apple Care expires and I know it's getting close to the end of the 3 years.

The Mac Genius there can get a replacement keyboard for you. In addition, you can put your serial number in the field under "About Your Support Coverage" on the main Apple.com/Support Web page. This will tell you how much longer you have on your AppleCare Protection Plan. It seems to be working right now for me.

i lost my 16 gb iphone 5 this morning (no hope of finding it really - it was in airplane mode at school) and wanted to know my options for replacing it - will apple replace a phone if you cannot return the old one? in the apple care details page it just says accidental damage, and i wasnt sure if id have to buy it again for the full $700, if the $79 still applies or if its somewhere in between. i have not needed my apple care support since i purchased it in august of 2013 (havent used one of my two replacements) and dont know how to replace it, and obviously would prefer not to spend the full price if i dont need to.

You're going to need to buy another iPhone. However, you can contact Apple and see about getting a pro-rated refund for the AppleCare that you no longer need on the lost iPhone.
Double check to see if your wireless carrier, or your credit card company or your homeowner's/renter's insurance has any options for this, though.

It's too late, at this point, to get AppleCare, unless you purchased the machine on or after February of 2011 - and then you'd only have a few months, at best, of extended warranty.
The best thing that you can do is to either diagnose the symptoms and fix the machine yourself or take it into an Apple Store or AASP and have them diagnose and fix the problem(s).
If your profile is correct and you're running 10.5.8 then you should get disc one that came with your machine and boot from it and run Disk Utility's Verify and Repair commands on your hard drive. If it fails, you'll know that the problem is most likely with the hard drive.
