How to get apple support chat with no serial number

Hi all,
iPhone 5S touchscreen has mostly packed up and I cannot unlock so I wanted to try Apple CHat to see if there was an easy fix. Well of course the Apple Chat needs a serial number to start which is bloody helpful when the only way to get the iphone 5S serial number is to go into settings. Is there another way to get chat support without my S/N? I don't really want to make the hike to the store in case it is a simple fix.

If the phone will connect to iTunes you can see the serial number. If it won't connect but you have ever backed up using iTunes you can also see it. Details on how are in the "Get the information from your computer" section of iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number

You can't.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

as LMS 4.0.1 is a service pack on LMS 4.0 you need the serial number of your base installation of LMS 4.0.
The serial number for software products is called "PAK" ("Product Authorization Key")
For LMS there are 3 options to get the PAK:
1) the PAK is printed on a paper sheet in the box in which LMS was sent to you. Sometimes it is also printed outside on the box.
2) the mail you received from [email protected] after the online licensing process includes the PAK;
    the first lines of the email looks something like this:

open it with a text editor and you 'll find the PAK.

I just purchased an iPad 1 used. The previous owner had its serial number registered under his Apple ID. Does anyone know how to change the apple ID associated with a serial number? On my iPad I am the apple user associated with the device. I am not the associated Apple ID on the Apple website.

If you have the receipt for the device, it really doesn't matter to whom the device is registered. The warranty is tied to the device, not the owner of the device so the warranty effectively transfers when you buy the iPad from the previous owner.

Actually, I think all you need is the serial number if you need warranty service and it doesn't matter who owns the iPad at the time that service or warranty issues arise.

Nobody can help you with that request because iCloud and "Find My iPod touch" do not work that way.
If you cannot see the iPod, you cannot track its serial number. Unless someone sees the serial number, nobody can track it.
Regardless of whether you have properly installed and enabled "Find My iPod touch", iCloud does not track your iPod's serial number. This is true even when you or someone else can see your iPod's serial number.
Regardless of how much you wish iCloud could track your iPod's serial number, it cannot.
"Find My iPod touch" can sometimes track an iPod's location but only under the specific circumstances Limnos has already explained to you.
If "Find My iPod touch" cannot locate your iPod by its location, there is no iCloud way to find it. In that case, the only way to identify your missing iPod is for you or someone else to physically look at it.
Perhaps you will be successful with one of these alternative possibilities for recovering your iPod:
• you can physically search and find your misplaced iPod
• someone may it returned in response to a reward that you offer
• the police may find it after you have reported it stolen

No. The SN will only help idenify the iPod as yours if it is recovered.

We uninstall photoshop cs6 on PC (creative suite design standard). How can we re-install it with our serial number ?

After a problem with photoshop cs6 (CTRL+T stopped the application with an error message and closed the window), we uninstall it.
We can't download photoshop cs6 on the adobe site to re-install it.
At the moment I am working on photoshop cc evaluation for 1 month.

If you did not deactivate the software before uninstalling then you should remember to do that in the future should you decide to uninstall again. If you contact Adobe support thru chat they can help with deactivating the original installation.

So, I need to find out why my Iphone won't wirelessly sync anymore. I go to https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/contact/ and enter my serial number and hit CONTINUE... and the little whirling thing whirls and whirls and whirls... I've refreshed the page, tried a different browser, and even rebooted my computer, all to no avail.
I'm about to post this question, and my current attempt has had the spinning thing going for a full five minutes.

Well, while that's great for those "lots of people", it doesn't help me at all since I don't know any of them. I also can't use a workphone; aside from the fact that they're all "for official use only", I spend my shift in a patrol car so I don't even really have access to any of the phones at the station. Even if I were willing to use my access code to get an outside line from the City's phone system... and with my luck, they'd audit the call and want to know how calling Apple support was "official"...
I also didn't see any chat options... of course, back to my actual question, the little swirling thing was still swirling when I just now woke up, after, what, seven hours? There could very well be a chat function, but if I can't get to it, it's useless to me.
Eventually I suppose I'll have to arrange for one of my buddies to come overhere and let me borrow his phone for the hour or whatever it'll take. That's just so much more convenient than having an email support option!

They were able to initiate contact with me and send me a message, but I was unable to respond. I could type out my message, but there wasn't an option to actually send the message! I tried everything on the screen, but the person trying to help me wasn't receiving any of my messages. Does anyone know how to send your messages for chatting with a member of the Apple Support team?

I had my iphone stolen and it was a brand new replacement so i dont have the serial number. Can apple provide me with the serial number? since it should be on their records

so my iphone 5 kept crashing and i brought it to the apple store and got a new replacement phone. Unfortunately for me the next day it got stolen, i have the find my iphone app but it says my device is offline so i cant track it nor can i wipe the contents. I have blocked my sim, but someone told me that i could get the product itself blocked so that the horrible theif cannot use it at all. I have recieved a new ipod with a new serial number. i lost my old cd which installs the ipod onto the comp with the new serial number ect. and ofcourse ints not enough to just have the new ipod updater and itunes. HOW do i install the ipod? anybody? how do i get that program?

account from which it was originally installed, or
installing a higher version of the software in a
different user account. (haven't seen a report
strongly suggesting this was going on for a while
with an ipod updater install, but it's been reported
every now and then.)
Just so you know, nothing was done with the original installation, on the original user's account (let's call it UserA. My account, UserB was already in existence when all the software was originally installed to the root directory in C:\programs. Both accounts are administrators. This is getting so frustrating that I think I'll bring my external drive that has all the stuff I want to put onto the Ipod, do it in the office, and that will be that!
