How to get back notes after the Note app updates

Hi,
I erased everything off my Macbook Pro to clean it but i used TimeMachine to restore any wanted files and software. However, i can't find where my old notes would be. I've also updated to the latest operating system, which could affect things i'm guessing? Could someone please tell me how i can get my old notes back using TimeMachine or if there is a way at all now that i've update OS?

Check Settings > General > Restrictions to see if Restrictions are ON and Safari is turned OFF.

After reading your post I launched the social app and it said it was automatically updated to version 1.2.157.
If yours doesn't auto update then you could try manually updating by launching social, goto options and press Update service.
By the way I'm in England so maybe the update hasn't reached the states yet.

How to get back lost photos or notes?

My friend had never sunk his ipod touch 5 before so we sunk it to my laptop. When it was done we realized his photos and notes were gone from his ipod. His apps are on the laptop and ipod, but not the photos or notes. Is there anyway we can get the photos and notes back to his ipod? (icloud was not set up)

With no backup to restore from:
- If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

- If you used iCloud then setting up the iPod with the same same iCloud account should bring the notes back.

I had done a factory reset on my home laptop, a dell inspiron 15 3542......after the factory reset all my applications were erased.
I had earlier purchased an MS office 365 which does not come with an installation cd, just the product key to be entered in the office website, is there anyway I can still use my purchase? I had entered the product key but it said "your microsoft office
isnt connected to this account" when i was logged with the same account which i used to login to MS office. IS THERE ANY WAY?

How to get back software I lost with Belle update?

I had the following games installed on my N8 when there was this "Summer Game Gifts" campaign:
- Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. HD+
- Angry Birds Seasons
- The Settlers
- Angry Birds Rio
- Monopoly Classic HD
- Worms HD
- GT Racing HD+
- Tetris HD
- Guitar Rock Tour 2 HD
They are all, besides of almost every other program/app I had installed, lost with the Belle update. Only Tetris is still on my mobile, maybe I had installed it accidentally on C: and not like all the other games on E:
All the games don't appear in my Nokia Store history ... but one game "Brain+" appears in my history but costs now 90c, I downloaded it for free like two months ago.
Why isn't the update making a backup of ALL applications if also applications on E: are deleted during the update process?
And my prime question: How can I get back all this games?

There is a FAQ by Nokia regarding the Belle update and more specifically what apps are not yet compatible.

So far, the Belle update seems to be the most problematic update yet and given the time it's taken them to release the update since they announced it back in August 2011, you'd have thought it would have been a lot better than this.

'Mail' won't get e-mail after the latest Security Update...

Hey all...
Title says it all. I did the Security Update a few days ago. After the restart, I lost all e-mail from 12/19 on, and have not been able to get new mail since then. The mac in doubt is a G5 iMac 20" running Tiger 10.4.11... No other updates have been done, and all of the other applications seem to work well. I know this is an 'update' issue, as I'm able to get new mail on my iPhone, Powerbook and work Dell.
On a side note, I called Apple on this, and pretty much said the 'update' wasn't an issue.. really, cause it started happening right after the update..
Any insight to fix this would be awesome...

I did remove 'Mail' from the Library/Cache folder and then 'Envelope Index' from the Library/Mail folder.. rebooted after eraser... and nothing new, except for a prompt to re-install 'Mail'.. which I did...
There's a problem there. Unless you deleted the actual Mail application, there would be no reason for any message to reinstall Mail triggered, since it's still there.
At this point, you'll need to do an Archive & Install, with the Preserve Users and Network Settings option. This will remove the current system and replace it with a new one; all programs and data will be left intact. To do this:
1. Quit all running applications and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
2. Insert your Mac OS X install/restore disc and boot your Mac from it (hold down the 'C' key until you see the statup screen).
3. Select your language and proceed with an install as you normally would, but choose Archive & Install, with Preserve Users and Network Settings; run the installer.
4. After your Mac restarts, eject the disk, then apply the 10.4.11 Combo Update (quit Software Update without updating anything).
5. Run Software update to bring your system current, and delete the Previous Systems folder.
6. Repair Permissions again, then restart your Mac and test for this problem.

Need a PDF viewer - how to get premium version of the ToGo apps when I don't have a TELUS data plan

Hey all ...
Is there a way to download and install a premium version of the ToGo apps (or just the PDF Viewer component - I searched the latter term and found one relevant thread wherein sdgardne had made reference to the premium ToGo apps) on my device from an installation executable within the Windows environment?
Or at least get the necessary file onto the device via Windows?

How do i get to sync after the iOS 6 update?

i connected my phone to my computer to sync some songs, and then my iPhone 4S updated to iOS 6 without my noticing.
after it finished, all of my apps and music and videos got wiped, so i did a restoration.
for some reason i am now stuck in a loop of restorations: itunes only gives me the options to restore as a new iphone or restore from a backup.
i've restored thrice now, and am getting no where.
please help,
how do i get my apps and music back?
more or less, if you can help me get my sync button back that would be perfect.
all it gives me is the "set up your iphone" screen.

I assume you mean quitting the apps not just going back to the home screen. Just do the double click of the home button, when the apps appear put your finger on the app image and swipe up to the top of the screen. That now totally quits the app.

How to get back HDD after ejecting ?

Hi guys,
I tried to import some files into FCE. The files is located in my external HDD.
After clicking click import, the finder comes out & I am supposed to click the icon of the external HDD but I accidentally clicked the triangle icon thus causing the external HDD to eject.
In order to get the icon of the external HDD back again so I can do the import, I restart the whole system but I think this is too time consuming.
Is there a way to get the external HDD back without having to restart the whole system ?

How to get back library after iTunes update?

All of my music is installed in a folder named iTunes Music on a USB external hard drive. Everything was working fine until yesterday. I might have made a mistake. Without the external hard drive attached to my laptop, I downloaded and installed the most recent version of iTunes for windows. With the external drive attached, I opened iTunes and the library is gone and the entire music panel in iTunes is empty. I tried to change the library back to F:iTunes Music, the folder where the music is stored, but nothing happened. What do I do now? Please help.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact. Can't access the search results I get on Finder after the system is updated to Mavericks.

I work everyday with my 21.5' iMac and it had OS Lion before I updated to Mavericks last month. As I work with lots of files, I have also a 1TB Lacie external drive pluged into it via firewire and I constantly access these files. After I updated though, I'm experiencing a strange problem. Everytime I search for a file on Finder, all the results that come up can't be edited or even selected. This is driving me crazy because I must open another tab and go all the way through the file I want as I can't select any file from the searches. All the search results come up written in gray color and with a empty circle on its left side. I can't even click on them! For better explanation, here is a picture of what happens:
Before the update, I used to normally access every result the search came up to.
I have another iMac here in the network with Mavericks too and all the searches returns with selectable and editable results. Can anyone help me with this, I am having a really hard time here as I am losing much much time. Thanks a lot and sorry for the bad english!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

You can backup your iTunes library any number of ways. An external hard drive using Time Machine or any other backup software would be one way. You can also backup the library to DVD. Read both of these articles.

Of course you can always download the apps again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID that you purchased them with.

Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.

If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.

Does work on the iPOd. You just do not get all the information that GPS/cellular connection can get. You will still be able to get distance/footstrikes like the installed app an you do not need the shoe sensor.. It uses the built-in sensors on the iPod
