How to get calendar back onto ipad and macbook after icloud install

I have just migrated from mobileme to icloud. I now have no calendar on my ipad and only one child's calender (out of three childrens +2 other calendars) shows up on my macbook and entries are changed to wrong days. I have everything on my iphone but do not want to plug it in for fear of losing all data (I do have a back up on an external HD) How do I get all the correct data from my iphone calendar to the ipad and macbook? I have checked discussions and there are many similiar issues but no replies with resolution. thank you

Problem resolved. I went onto my laptop>System Pref>Mail,Contact,Calendars. A dialog window repeatedly opened asking me to Deny or Allow access. I went thru iCloud, mobileme (mail, contacts and calendars), several AIM accounts and all my mail accounts and populated the accounts window. I then went to my iPhone>Settings >iCloud and turned off calendars (saving calendars on my iphone), turned calendars back on and voila:Full functionality of my calendars on my laptop.

Iphone 5 seems unable to sync calendars with ITunes! The genius bar set mine to sync via Icloud, but it only worked once (?).
Finally I fixed it like this.
First, I merged the multiple calendars from ICal thanks to http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_merge_ical_calendars and I called it “only.”
Second, I unchecked the gmail calendar (seems iCloud had a problem with it): On the Iphone, open the calendar, go to the bottom of the page, click on calendars and uncheck the gmail calendar. Click Done.
Third, every time I want to sync, I go to the Iphone Settings, iCloud, and uncheck calendars. I respond “keep on my Iphone”. Then, check calendars on again, click merge, and.… voila!

Anyone know how I get iTunes back onto my new 4S?

Just noticed this evening, when I wanted to go to the iTunes store, that the application is missing. Does anyone know how this could have happened or how I get it back (short of doing a complete re-install of the OS).

You cannot delete it. It is likely on another sceen, in a folder or you have restrictions set.
Check all of these.
If this fails then just reset your homescreen layout.

The only way to do so is to start over: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You won't be able to use the backup of your old phone unless you are setting up a new phone.

Hi Michael, thanks for replying. Yes, I meant the music videos. I want to keep on using Match but at the same time I want my music vids included as music. The alternative is to consider them a basic "movies" but it is just not it... It is also strange that I can not delete from the iPad a downloaded song from match without turning of Match on the iPad. Well, we´ll have to live with it.

My Pages and Numbers are stopped synchronizing via icloud between ipad and macbook pro. Everytime I edit something to Pages or Numbers on my ipad, my ipad failed to upload the edited version to icloud. what happened?

I have a slightly different problem with Numbers and Pages failing to sync between a Macbook and iPad via iCloud. I have checked all the obvious settings. I think the problem may be that the Macbook username is my email address, whereas the iPad username is my wife's email address. However, both addresses are named alibis for exactly the same email address from our internet provider – eg we get the same emails, despite appearing to have different addresses. So I don't understand why the iPad cannot pick up Numbers or Pages files that have been opened and saved in iCloud on my Macbook. Other apps, such as iCal, sync perfectly, but i guess they don't use iCloud. Any help appreciated!
(We have tried emailing Numbers files to the iPad, but that is very slow and innefective.)

Itunes music on external drive - how to get it back onto mac.

hi - some time ago I transferred my growing itunes library to an external hard drive. The database remained on the mac. My mac was an old powerpc imac. So far no problem. Things moved on and I have just bought a new imac i3 etc. I would now like to transfer my itunes content to the new mac as it has loads of space. Alternatively I would be happy to keep the music on the external drive. I transferred the contents of the old mac to the new mac without any difficulty. The database on itunes arrived seemlessly on the new mac. I plugged in the external hard drive and nothing worked. I had forgotten that the old mac was power pc and the new mac was of course intel.
My question is now, how do I get the library on the external drive back onto my old mac so that I can transfer it to the new mac? Any ideas. I am sure it is simple, but am not the best on computers. I can follow instructions.

How do I get back my files and setting after re-installing Lion?

After I deleted the wrong file, I had to re-install Lion. After I went through the setup none of my file were on the desktop and the settings had all defaulted. After I looked under the User folder, I noticed there are 2 different users listed, ajoep3 and my_full_name.my_full_name contains all the files, and prseumably setting that I had before the re-install.
How do I get those back? It won't allow me sign in under any other login.

I have a backup, through Time Machine, but I didn't use that. I had files that weren't backed up on Time Machine, so I re-installed Lion from the App store. I hoped it would just replace the system files I had deleted. It's hard to explain, but the user names, ajoep3 and my_full_name are tied together.
When I open the users folder it shows, ajoep with a house next to it, my_full_name and Shared. When I log in or out it only shows ajoep3. my_full_name isn't list in the system preferences>>users or any where else.

Is there a way to get pictures that are part of the library on my iphone on to my macbook. I find it completely unbelievable that Apple has purposely made it impossible to be able to get 4 YEARS OF PICTURES off my Iphone and back onto my computer. We have a family trip to Holland on this, numerous camping trips, a trip to Paris, Mexico, my kids birthday parties, family events, Christmas. Im totaly devastated.
IF anyone knows how IM DESPERATE.

If all the original photos are still stored on your iPhone, and your iPhone is still functioning properly, once your hard drive is replaced and OS X and iTunes is reinstalled, you should be able to re-acquire them on your computer by reconnecting your iPhone to your computer, the way you got them to the computer originally.

How to get songs back on iTunes once uploaded to iCloud & deleted off hard drive?

I have my 10,000 song library saved on an external hard drive. I got the subscription to help limit used space on my laptop hard drive. I started iTunes Match with my entire library (external drive) and uploaded my entire 10,000 songs. Once completed I deleted everything from my iTunes program & unplugged my external.
Now my computer has absolutely no songs on it and I now expected to have access to my entire 10,000 song library from the cloud. Once restarting my computer and iTunes I opened a library of all my songs visible in iCloud with download buttons but I was unable to actually click & download any of the songs that showed.
I turned off iTunes Match from the "Store" menu and turned it back on. Now my library is completely empty but when I check the iTunes Match tab it tells me that I have 10,000 songs in iCloud waiting for me.
How do I get my songs???????

This sounds like an issue of the local iTunes client getting confused about the location and status of the library.
To use iTunes with all Song files on an external disk is straightforward if you have instructed it to find the Song files in that location.
A good route would be to connect the external hard drive such that iTunes client can see all your Song files as normal - check that you can both play your Songs and complete an Update iTunes Match.
Assuming all is well at this point you can instruct the iTunes client to delete all Songs keeping files and not requesting iCloud deletion. At this stage all Songs should appear with a working download indicator against them.
If you now switch off iTunes Match. Restart the iTunes client and create a new blank local library store on your computers internal disk, then switch on iTunes Match - all Songs will now appear. You can complete a test download, it will simply store to your new library location. From here you have the state you wished, all Songs accessible from the iCloud - with the ability to download should you choose.

I have the iiPad2 with WiFi. I remember that I used iSync in the past between my Macbook and desktop unit. I also am signed up with me.com. Can anybody please advise me what's the best way to sync my emails? I use Apple's mail program. Thanks.

iSync has never synced email or anything between Macs.
To sync email you need to set your account up as IMAP (not POP3) on your iPad and Mac.
If you are using your MobileMe email address and have configured your MobileMe account on both Mac and iPad, then your email is automatically in sync.

Any music purchased through the iTunes store can be downloaded again for free as long as you are signed in with the Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Any other music you had in iTunes should be easily accessible in your system back up or from the CDs you ripped from originally.
