How to get Canon MF 4412 to scan

Hi I've just purchased a Canon Image class multifunctional printer MF 4412. I have it printing OK but scaning is not working. When USB plugged in it doesn't recognise my Macbook pro. Do I need to install seperate scanner drivers? Or do I need to get scaning software?
Thanks for the help

Canon has the MF ScanGear v1.30 for Mac OS X. With this software installed you can then set the MF Scan button online (showing USB Scanner or something similar) and then use either the MF Toolbox application (included with the driver) to scan or use Preview to scan your document.

  • How to get Canon Printer to work wired?

I have a canon wireless printer. I just got a cable for it as i want to not use wifi to print from my computer.
How do i get my Canon printer to work with the cable in it.
    computer is a IMAc
    printer canon MP560 colour
I have cable in it now. How do i get it to work wired to computer? thanks

System Preferences - Printing & Scanning highlight your printer and right click and choose Reset Printing System. Next turn off the printer, then restart the computer in Safe Mode which will clear some caches. To restart in Safe Mode, simply hold down the Shift Key when you hear the startup tone until a progress bar appears. Then shut down the computer, connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer and start the compute normally, then turn on the printer and your iMac should find it. If your computer does not find the printer follow Apple's instructions for doing so.

I've tried restarting but no luck.
I got an "Image Capture Core error 9930" during one attempt.

    Hello Bruinfan28,
Thanks for the post. With this one, check this:
To repair disk permissions: Open Finder. Select Apps. Search for Disk Utility. Open Disk Utility. Select the drive the OS is installed on. Click Repair Disk Permissions. Try scanning now.
If you are still having scanning issues, then: See if uninstalling and re-installing the printer's software and driver will correct the problem. Good Luck!

  • How to get canon 4400f scanner work under os 10.10.1

canon does not offer a driver or s/w for os 10.10.1
is there a 3rd party driver or an older driver that can be made to work?

i have contacted canon - even written their ceo and they will not update the driver.
i bit the bullet and got vue-scan  driver  for the 4400f  for multi year at $79.   i works ok, but the interface is a bit clumsy at the beginning - e.g. multi page pdf process is a bit convoluted.

  • How to get Canon 510HS to connect by WiFi to iPhoto

Prior to updating OSX to 10.8.4 I had no trouble connecting my Canon 510HS to iPhoto via WiFi.  I would:
    Open iPhoto
Select the access point on the ixus
**then the camera would show up as a device within iPhoto**
However, now that I have updated to 10.8.4, the ixus finds the access point, but then just hangs with the message "searching for devices"
The ixus has no problem connecting to other devices (i.e. iPad)
I have tried re-starting the iMac etc.... but no joy

I have no idea - but that is not an iPhoto issue - you need technical support from either the Mac OS forum, the ixus forum or Canon

  • How to get Camera RAW / Photoshop CS5 to work with Canon 100D?

How to get Camera RAW / Photoshop CS5 to work with Canon 100D? I don't want to by this product again and again...

In what way is ACR not working in Bridge?  Is there no right-click Open in Camera Raw available from Bridge, or there is, but the ACR version is less than ACR 6.7.1 or what exactly is the issue?
Also, if you open Photoshop and do Help / About Plug-ins / Camera Raw, is ACR missing from the list, or if not, what version does it say is installed?
You might also want to describe what methods you have tried to correct the issue, since saying you've tried what you've seen posted and they didn't work, isn't really much to go on.

  • How can i get in work my Hp scaner with my macbook pro?

how can i get in use my Hp scaner with my macbook pro?

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode with the MacBook as the main screen. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the TV but you can move the cursor onto the TV screen.
In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the TV and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen.
The TV will now have the Dock and Menu Bar and windows will open on it. But you can move the cursor to the MacBook screen and move windows from the TV over to the MacBook screen.
You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the TV your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.
Or if you want to work on the MacBook screen while showing it on a TV you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box. That will give you the same screen at the same resolution on both the MacBook and the external monitor.

  • I recently downloaded LION. How do I get my Nikon Cool IV scan driver to work?

I recently downloaded LION. How do I get my Nikon Cool IV scan driver to work?

You probably can't. Nikon says that Nikon Scan, last updated over two years ago, isn't fully compatible even with Mac OS X 10.5. It probably won't work with Lion at all. Nikon suggests a third party software option such as Vuescan from Hamrick.com or Silverfast software. Both companys say that their software does support the CoolScan IV and is compatible with Lion.

  • How to get accurate photo printouts using calibrated FlexScan S1932 , Photoshop CS3 and Canon MX925 ? ALL ARE calibrated with i1Pro . WHO SHOULD GOVERN THE PRINTOUT , THE CS3 OR THE PRINTER ?

How to get accurate photo printouts using  FlexScan S1932 screen, Photoshop CS3 and Canon MX925 ? ALL ARE calibrated with i1Pro . WHO SHOULD GOVERN THE PRINTOUT , THE CS3 OR THE PRINTER ?

You need to work with the calibration parameters to get a good match from screen to print. There are no fixed values - basically whatever settings produce a match are the right ones.
First, set the white point - luminance and color - so that screen white is a visual equivalent to paper white. You can be very specific about this, with a viewing booth right next to the display and a particular paper as target. Or you can take a more generalistic approach. That too will usually work well, as long as you keep the aim in sight: screen white = paper white.
Don't trust the white point presets. You will usually have to adjust to compensate for your working environment. Make sure you can adjust both along the blue/yellow Kelvin scale and the green/magenta axis. Any given Kelvin value may well be wrong on the green/magenta axis.
Next set a realistic black point. This is important. Monitor manufacturers throw about completely unrealistic contrast ranges that you will never see on paper. A good glossy inkjet paper will be in the vicinity of 250-300:1, or a black point around 0.4 - 0.5 cd/m² if your white point is at 120. If you have a monitor that goes down to, say, 0.2, which most monitors today will, you're in for an unpleasant surprise.
Leave gamma at 2.2. Gamma is remapped from profile to profile and is "invisible" - the net result is always linear. You just want to stay close to native so that the monitor behaves at its best.
If you have a wide gamut monitor soft proofing in Photoshop can be useful. With a standard gamut monitor it's mostly a waste of time since monitor gamut is the limiting one.
Oh, and let Photoshop manage color. Make sure you have the right paper/ink profile and also make sure you have the right paper selected in the printer driver. This controls the total amount of ink.

Image capture won`t recognize my printer either.

People who need to SCAN & PRINT without a compatible driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:
Click the Apple menu ( ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan ( ).
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to modify scan settings such as output type.Figure 2: Example of the Show Details scanning screen
Change any settings as necessary, and then click Scan .
The next window looks like this:

  • How do you get ITunes to STOP automatically scanning my hard drives?

How do you get ITunes to STOP automatically scanning my hard drives for files? I have a number of audio and video files located all over my computer. However, my music folder is located in one place. I only want ITunes to look there to ad music to my IPod? I don't want to add any videos to my IPod however, it automatically scans for this as well. Infact... I don't want ITunes to automatically scan for anything. Why is this doing this?

You can configure iTunes to sync only a subset of your music. Create a playlist in iTunes of the music you want on the iPod, and change the iPod sync settings. More info is here.
