How to get Class Type form Material Number

Hi All,
Based on the Material Number I have to get the Class Type and Class Number.
I tried with FM -- QMSP_MATERIAL_BATCH_CLASS_READ
but it always shows Class type = 023
and database table for object = MCH1 for any given material number.
Please help me out.

You can use a cmobination of T001K and MARC Table.
T001K table is assignment of Plants to a company code and MARC is a table with combination of Material and Plant.

How to remove leading zero from Material Number

Hello Everyone,
I need to figure it out how to remove leading zero from material number. Cureently extractor is sending material number as 100663. But when comes into BI i am getting as "000000000000100663" and similariy in report it is appearing as "000000000000100663". Now my client wants me to exclude preceeding zero for a material in all the reports.
Is there any setting in query desinger to handle this issure or in the backend.
Need your inputs.

you can use the function Module
CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT in the start routine
to test this go to SE37 --- give the CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT -
>display -
> F8
in the input give 000000456
and execute
the out put will be 456
for getting Zeros you can use
CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT--- to remove leading zeros

How to get data type of variable in program..

Hi ABAP Guru.
I need to know how to get data type of variable or any structure field.. because I got short dump when use command REPLACE ALL OCCURANCE ... with variable/structure field that has data type I or P, I think it should be used with data type CHAR only, So I need to check the data type first.
Please give me your advice

I am using DS 0CA_TS_IS_1, it includes report time type (0REPTT), but not have wage type. in CATSDB, I fied fields for attendance/absence type and wage type. but not every time record has wage type. can you please tell me how to get wage type for every time record? what is relation between reporting time type, attendance/absence type and wage typs?

Multiple class types for material master classification display default.

Hello,
We are running on R/3 4.7. We use several different class types for our material masters (001 and Z01). The problem this creates is the end user having to constantly tell the system which class type to use when going to the classification screen for different materials with different class types. If a user views one material's classification page with a particular class type (001) then looks at another material with a different class type (Z01) the system tries to pull in information from the last materials class type (001). The system tells the user there are no assignments for the class (001) in the material their viewing but there is one for class type (Z01). The user then has to select the class type that applies to the material master their trying to view. Is there a way for the system to automatically see when a material has only one class type assigned to it for it to automatically default it in without the user having to specify the class type?

Multiple Class Type for Material Master

Hello Everyone,
I would like to ask where in configuration can I setup Classification so that for each Material Master it can have Multiple Class Type. (such as 001 - Material Class, 023 - Batch, 300 - Variants). Because currently I can only see 023 - Batch whenever I create a new Material Master.

Hi Nanda,
Just follow these steps:
1) Create a bounded taskflow (uncheck the create with fragments checkbox)
2) Drag the CreateInsert operation on your bounded taskflow and mark it as the default activity
3) Drag a view and link the CreateInsert to the view component using a control flow case
4) Double click on the view to create the page
5) Drag the view object on the page as an ADF form
6) Go back to your bounded taskflow and from the General tab make sure under visibitliy you select "url-invoke-allowed"
Run you tasfklow and your form will be rendered in insert mode.

Class type in material BOM

Hello,
I nee to insert a new material into a sub-BOM of an exploded BOM. A material class is important to insert under the precise sub-BOM.
I would use a class type to find where to insert the new material but when I get an exploaded BOM with CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2, the fields CLASS and CLART for the sub-items are empty.
How else could I get a BOM with class information?

I don't think the CLASS and KLART fields of the structure STPOX refer to the material class. They refer to the BOM item classification. If you have classification for the materials but not at the BOM item level, then you will not see them here. You will have to code for it.

How to get a simple form to populate from workflow container?

We are triggering a custom workflow from the creation of a specific type of financial document (BKPF) based on doc type. I am able to make this occur after I implemented OSS Note 336305 onto our v4.7 Enterprise system.
I would like to make the first task a simple form that will display certain fields from the FI document and allow changing. I created a structure containing the fields I want displayed on the form and can get the form to display. However, I am unable to get the form populated with the information from the document. I'm suspect it's a binding problem but don't know where to begin. My container element contains both BKPF and the structure I created for the simple form.
I must warn you that I am new to Workflow having only taken the two classes at SAP Education, so any explaination will need to be detailed and simple.

Since I made this entry yesterday, I decided I needed a method that will populate the form structure prior to displaying the form. I created a subtype ZBKPF of BKPF and added a method to populate structure. I know the method works correctly because I debugged the code and saw that it executes and fills the structure fields. However, it doesn't update the structure fields in the container correctly. So obviously I have a binding problem. I'm not sure how to get the container fields populated once I populate the structure. Thoughts?
