How to get connected MS SQL from Oracle

I need to connect MS SQL Server (MSDE exactly) to Oracle 8.1.7
and operate it from Oracle side (some clever data imports from
client's sql server machine to bigger Oracle server). I tried to
use ODBC from client to oracle and works fine, but I need "the
other way". Any Ideas?

Reading your previous question once again, now I think you have actually asked a simpler question than I answered to. Is it that you just need to anyhow send data from ODC to IPM?
If so, it is a standard functionality of ODC, called Commit Profile. I have never worked with IPM, but there is one to UCM and it works the way that you use administrator's login (such as sysadmin in 10g or weblogic in 11g) for authentication and then you map ODC user to a metadata field (in UCM there is a mandatory field called dDocAuthor and there should be value of an existing user; but you can you the administrator here as well, if ODC user info is not important for you). I believe IPM will behave similar.
What you have to check, whether commit profiles are available for IPM 11g, but I believe they are.
As for the documentation, the link I mentioned before contains both installation and configuration manual, so you should find all the info there.

Now I want to get the file name Eg: SampleFile.dat of the CSV file in my BPEL process.
I tried using the b2b.filename property in the receive activity and it is not getting the file name.

How to get the number value from Oracle SQL Query?

A stored procedure does not normally invoke external SQL scripts. Stored procedures run on the database server and should only be calling objects created in the database. So I would strongly suspect that you need to rethink your architecture.
If you are determined, however, you could potentailly
- Put the .SQL file on the database server
- Create a Java stored procedure that calls out to the operating system
- Have that Java stored procedure invoke SQL*Plus and pass SQL*Plus the name of your .SQL file
- Call that Java stored procedure from your stored procedure
This would, of course, be a highly convoluted architecture, which is why the right answer is probably to rethink things.

How to get the Database type from weblogic Db connection

I want to use database version control in my application . that means different database type use different Sql Statement. Such as in weblogic7.0 if I create SqlServer JDBC pool then I will use some special Sqlserver sql Statement . such as some join statement. If I create Oralce JDBC pool then I have to use different Sql statement . because these two database support different Sql statement.
What my question is how to get the database type from the connection.

For a normal jdbc driver you can use
Connection.getMetaData()
To get the meta data, in particular the getDatabase...() methods.
That might or might not work.
However, at the very least in the server you have access to the weblogic properties so you can parse the pool property to figure it out.

Can anybody tell me how to get connectivity between Personal Oracle 8.0.3 and Developer 2000 Rel 2.1 in Win 98 Environment.
I am able to install either Oracle 8 or Developer 2000 but not both, even if I use different Oracle Homes.
When I posted the same question to www.xperts.com someone wrote to me saying that a patch has to be used to get the connectivity.
I have been trying to solve the problem for last 6 months, but could not do it.
Can you please tell me how to get the connectivity or atleast tell me which version will facilitate connectivity in a stand alone PC.

For Windows98. Worked for me, but no guarantee it will solve your problem.

you can also use v$session dynamic performance view to get ip of any connected user.
this view can give almost all information about any connected session, but you must
have administrative privileges to query this view.
