How to get contact pictures off iPhone

I saved a picture with most of my contacts on my iPhone. Now I'd like to get those pictures off of the iPhone and onto a computer. Can someone help?
So you know, I took the contact pictures from directly within the contact editor. I've tried sync'ing to my computer, but I only get thumbnails on my computer when I want the whole picture (I'm going to transfer the pictures to another iPhone).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have no clue, but don't think resolution is all that crucial.
Even a low-res picture can help preserve an important memory. Or something that makes a good phone contact picture may likely also make a good avatar for flickr, twitter, etc, and it would not need to be full resolution for such purposes.
Nothing taken with the iPhone is all that high-res anyhow. IIRC, pix assigned on the phone show up full-screen, so it's probably not as low-res as the teeny photo assigned on the desktop and transferred via sync.
Incidentally, google turned up this method of retrieval, using the Mac:
If you click "edit" on the contact's entry in Address Book and then double click inside their picture, it will appear as a somewhat bigger version, which you can copy with command-C. But it's a far cry from full-resolution.

I can't test it, though, as I don't sync contacts, and really have no clue whether the iPhone sync contact pictures to Outlook on Windows, which I assume the OP uses.

  • Can't get 2164 pictures off iPhone

At this point I have 2164 pictures I've taken with my iPhone, but I can't get a single photo off the phone via the USB connection (I can email a few, but this is not only extremely time consuming, but not very practical) and I need to get a few hundred off the phone ASAP for work.
I've read thru the many posts about this issue and I can not believe that Apple has let an issue this big slip past so easily.
I've tried to get the pics off with three different computers now - two Macs (a brand new 8-core Mac Pro and an older G5 2.0Ghz) and a Dell Inspiron 1501 (Laptop). None of them can read the pics on the iPhone. I've tried different USB ports and everything. This is most definitely an iPhone issue. The computers can see the iPhone, but iPhoto under Mac, Scanner and Camera Wizard under XP, and all other image programs I've tried will not read the pics off the iPhone.
Even worse, iTunes won't sync the photos without deleting what's on the iPhone first. And that doesn't do me a lot of good. I'm willing to look past the fact that this is a great disservice to what could be a great experience - as long as Apple comes out with a decent bug fix ASAP...
One last thing, I have only one folder for my pics, which is a massive amount of pics to have in one folder - scrolling thru to find one pic takes forever. Is there a way to put the pics in different folders thru the iPhone?

Rhyd, did you NOT read my post??? Your comment doesn't make any sense and comes off as sounding quite rude.
Even with only 5Gb of RAM, OS X can still cache to the hard drive whenever it needs to, so your comment about "All the RAM that a MacPro can hold could not do this for you" is absurd. The amount of RAM a Mac has, doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the iPhone isn't working properly.
No, I didn't ignore anything. I bought an iPhone specifically for a two week business trip (to Europe where I did not have access to iPhoto). When I returned with a lot of pics (2,164 pics to be exact), the upload process didn't work with anything - Mac OS X, nor Windows XP. iTunes didn't work. iPhoto didn't work. Nothing worked.
I took an additional 1500+ pics with another camera I had brought on the trip - filled up a 2Gb card with 6MP pics, and I didn't have any problems getting the pictures out of it. iPhoto is not the greatest of apps when you deal with a lot of pics on a daily basis, but at least it (usually) works. With the iPhone, it doesn't work - AT ALL. It doesn't see the iPhone as a camera device, and doesn't give you any options to even try, which leads me to believe that the iPhone has a few bugs that need to be addressed.
I doubt I could have exceeded the memory of the Mac for getting pics off an iPhone - we're talking roughly 930Mbs of pictures on the iPhone - which is not very much (I often fill up 2Gb cards on a daily basis) and even with the video and podcasts, the 8Gb iPhone still has over 4Gb of free space. If it's a problem with the iPhone not having enough RAM, then Apple should have made a built-in limit on how many pics you could take with it until they could figure out how to work with the limited amount of RAM the iPhone does have.
Either way, Apple needs to release a fix for getting pictures off the iPhone, ASAP.
And off the record, I probably take more pictures in a single week than most have in the past three years. I do Photography, High Definition, and Film for a living (including time-lapse photography) - I work with USB, firewire, SATA, and SCSI on a daily basis. I was using "OS X" when it was still called "NeXT" (btw, the spinning ball hasn't changed a bit). My systems aren't anything to laugh at here either - we're talking heavy duty 2k editing systems with over 9TB of storage on the Mac Pro alone. Needless to say, I don't dabble in video or photography, and these systems are not toys.

  • How to get ALL photos off iPhone and into iMac?

I hope I can describe this clearly.
I have close to 1000 photos on my iPhone 5s, all in different albums.  I want to get ALL of them off the iPhone and backed up into my iMac so I don't lose them when I upgrade (which has happened before.) The albums I seem to have the biggest problem with are the ones that came over when I went from a PC to a Mac about 2 years ago and were in albums in my Kodak Easy Share.  I can't get iPhoto to recognize these photos/albums so I can move them from the iPhone. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I got them from where they originated into my iPhone. I'd thought I'd lost them so when they popped up on my iPhone I refused to even update my phone for a while, I was so afraid to lose them.
I tried using Image Capture and it only recognized 176 photos on the iPhone.
I went into settings on my iPhone, into camera and photos, and saw that iCloud Photo Library (Beta) was "OFF." I clicked "ON" and got the message "Photos synced from iTunes will be removed. Syncing photos via iTunes is not supported when include Photo Library is turned on.  833 photos will be removed."
    I hit cancel.
If I connect my iPhone to my Mac, and check off "Sync Photos" it appears that it's going to put photo's in iPhoto on my computer on my phone, so that isn't what I want either.  I've tried Googling this, and searching on the Apple site and I can't find anything like this. Similar but not quite the same.
I also read (I think) that the iCloud would delete my photos in 30 days so I'm not sure what the value of backing them up to the iCloud is.
I've used Finder to search Kodak, Easy Share, Kodak Easy Share, in case these photos are somewhere else on the iMac that I'm not aware of, most likely due to user ignorance.
My screen is cracked, I'm going to need to upgrade soon, and I don't want to lose valuable photos again.
    Thank you!

Thank you to all for this info. Discouraging, but finally I can stop banging my head on the desk trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I do believe that when I synced my iPhone at some point in the last 2 years, I pulled all the photos OUT of iPhoto and then it deleted them.  Which is most likely why the older Kodak photos that I am almost 100% certain were in iPhoto are now gone. How/when they ended up on my iPhone I don't know because I swear they suddenly appeared there a few weeks ago.
Since the old PC is gone (accessible but wiped clean & restored to original factory settings) and Easy Share is no more, I will have to explore outside options to get those photos off the iPhone somewhere.  Online photo storage sites have been suggested.  Archaic as it is, I wish I'd just put them all on cd's.
Using the info provided, I did SUCCESSFULLY get all 237 photos off of my iPhone 3.  (yes, I still have it.)  Now I know better and will never ever sync my photo's in iTunes again.
    Thank you all again!!
***Addendum: ALL answers helped, but apparently I can't indicate that.

  • How to get contacts onto ipad / iphone from exchange

Hi, I've setup an exchange account on my iphone / ipad.  But, it's pulling down all these contacts I don't really care for.
Is there a way thru Itunes or maybe icloud to select the contacts I want installed from our exchange server?  I would then disconnect sync, after I've got all the contacts I need and sync it to the cloud.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I Didn't understood your question well, but, there is an very good app for this, named: BUMP!

  • How to get downloaded material off Iphone but leave on Ipad.

I have downloaded some items for my Ipad.  I same username for both my Ipad and my Iphone.  I don't want these things on my Iphone, just my Ipad.  These include movies, albums etc.  How do I remove them?  I have an Iphone 4s and don't have an option to slide and delete as I have seen mentioned already.

    Hi nyKenny
I had a similar issue - my external hard drive died and I lost everything!
I used iExplorer (free) to explore my iPad, iPod and iPhone and extract the things I wanted.
For ebooks, once tghe program is installed, select 'Books' in the explorer window on the left.  Select them all in the right hand window (they look funny, with letters and numbers as their labels), and drag these into a new window on your PC.  Once all transferred, these can then be dragged into iTunes library, where iTunes will unravel them and sort them back into the books you so lovingly transferred.
I hope this helps, it worked perfectly for me (thankfully).
PS Open the program BEFORE connecting the iPad, the program seems to crash if an iDevice is already connected when you open.

  • My iPhone 4 has a cracked screen that I cannot see anything on it. I want to clear my pictures off of it before I sell it. I plugged it into my Surface RT, but I cannot download iTunes and I cannot unlock my phone. How can I get my pictures off my phone?

I have a cracked iPhone 4. It still works, but the body is cracked and I cannot see the screen. I want to get my pictures off before I sell it. I have a Microsoft Surface RT and cannot download iTunes, and I cannot unlock my phone because I cannot see the screen. Any suggestions?

The solution would have been to back up your photos to your computer before the screen broke.
It's too late now.  But you'll know for next time.

  • How do you get the pictures off your iphone 4s when it want connect to icould nor wifi?

My iphone fell in the toilet im trying to get my pictures off the phone but i can not connect to wifi

If that phone has been synced in iTunes, you can restore from the backup after having restored the phone.
There is also a little mac app that can read the iPhone backups that are in iTunes, called ibackupviewer.
Then when there is no backup of the iPhone: read the following aricle:

  • HT201269 how do i get my pics off iPhone and transfer to my mac?

How do I get my pictures off my I phone to transfer to my mac? Please explain as simple as possible.

Assuming you are running Mavericks and the current version of iPhoto on your Mac:
Open iPhoto on your Mac.  Click iPhoto > Preferences from iPhoto's menu.  On the "General" tab, choose "Connecting camera opens ... iPhoto".
Then plug your iPhone into your Mac.  iPhoto should open and you should see your iPhone there.  You may have to click "Import ...".
This assumes that you are talking about photos you took on your iPhone (and are therefore in iPhone's Camera Roll).

  • How to get photo albums off of iphone 4s with itunes

My computer has a virus so I hooked my iphone 4s to another computer with itunes. I need to get some photo albums off the iphone that I synced with the other computer but the only thing that comes up are the photo stream photos. My question is how can I get them off it is taking up space on icloud and I just don't want them anymore. please help.

Please explain to me what kind of photos end up outside the sandbox. Photos taken or saved with the phone are in the Camera Roll. Other photos on the iPhone would be synced via iTunes from the computer. Those pictures are already on the computer and can be removed from the phone via another sync. Importing the photos with import utility on the computer, like a digital camera is how to get the pictures. I'm not sure what these other photos are that you are referring to, or where they are coming from.

  • How can I avoid duplicates on contacts and how do I get contacts created on iPhone/ipad synchronized on my mac? so far it doesn't work correctly, just sometimes. same for icalendar

how can I avoid duplicates on contacts and how do I get contacts created on iPhone/ipad synchronized on my mac? so far it doesn't work correctly, just sometimes. same for icalendar

On your Mac, for duplicates, switching Contacts off then back on in System Preferences > iCloud may prevent duplicates.
On the iPhone / iPad tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Contacts and Calendars are swtiched on.
Try restarting your Mac and your iOS devices when items won't sync as they should.
To restart an iOS device:  Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
