How to get crisp clear vector images into motion2

I am new to this forum and love it.
My question to all you smart people is when I use illustrator for all my logos for companies. How do I get them imported into my motion project. I have heard of different ways, but none have done the trick. I see logos on samples that look clear and like vectors but when I place them they get really blurry. Also when I place the logo as a large image and scale it down, it looks horific.
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I have pulled enough hair out on this project. Thanks a lot.

After checking my resolution, it is set at FULL, so let me explain my equipment. I am using a brand new G5, a digital output monitor, and OS X 10.4.6.
Do you guys think that I am just expecting too much from Motion, to make the image clear or should it look just as clear as a vector image in Illustrator.
Should I adjust any picture resolutions before importing a high resolution image.
Does anyone have a quick sample of Motion of a logo that they imported in motion and maybe that way I can compare it with mine, or give me the exact directions of how you smart people export and import logos into Motion. Thanks a lot, and I am destine to get my logos clear as I can.

i'm jus practicing a few excercises for web apps using java, jsps etc and would like to know how to integrate images and specifically css images into it? and what is the best practice for things like this. I have just tried:

Oops, EPS can't be opened directly in Flash. You can open the
EPS in Illustrator and save as .ai and open that in Flash.
In Flash, use File > Import > Import to Stage. If
Import to Stage is faded out, just make sure you select a layer
that isn't locked.

How do you split a vector image into several different colors

Hi, I'm trying to make an infographic for my company and wanted to use an image of christmas tree I found. I put it into Illustrator CS6 and traced it with the 16 colors option ( which i believe makes it a vector). What I want to do is change the colors of the christmas tree on each level of needles, but I can't figure out how to split up the image to change it into different colors. Sorry if this is confusing, any help appreciated.

Audrey, first off, you should know this:
Working with "a vector graphic" and working with a vector graphic that is the result of Illustrator's Image Trace are very likely to be very different things.
You would be much better off if you were starting with a tree graphic that was designed and drawn as a vector graphic in the first place. The people reading your post here can only imagine what's on your screen and how the Image Trace utility might have "seen" and traced it. I'll go so far as to say you won't be able to accomplish what you describe with an Image Trace as the basis. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I do know I wouldn't dare put myself through the anguish of attempting it. Honestly, I think you'll have a better chance of pulling it off if you keep the tree as a raster image, open it in Photoshop, and recolor sections of the tree there. But again, that could be determined with considerably more certainty if I could actually see it.
As a side note, I'd like to add this: You refer to the christmas tree image as one that you "found." I read that to mean you found it on the Internet. If that's the case, and the infographic you're planning is only for an internal presentation, it's not really a big problem, but even then you should consider acquiring permission or license to reuse the image. However, no matter how you might adapt or alter the image, just about any other scenario involving your re-use of that image could lead to issues of legality. Please don't pirate images.

Images are not "in" Lightroom. Image files are on the hard drive, and the Lightroom edits are in the catalog.
Lr creates a link between the catalog and the image files on the hard drive.
So, there is no need to bring images from one version of Lr to the other.
When you install Lr4 it will find your existing catalog and update it (in fact it updates a copy of the catalog); Lr4 will then "know" where your images are because their location is recorded in the catalog.
It is the unfortunate choice of the word "import" that creates the impression that images are in Lr like eggs in a basket. Nope!

How to remove antialiasing of vector images?

Hello. Currently, I am editing bitmap images that are not antialiased, and I made lots of vector shape layers.
And what I want to do is remove antialiasing of all vector layers because if they are antialiased, they can not fit into forementioned non-antialiased bitmap images.
I found an option to display aliasing vector images, I mean "Layer image quality" option in time line panel, and I set it "draft", but if I render my sequence, AE won't allow me to render the draft, aliasing vector image. They are antialiased. AE ignores the draft setting and renders vector layers as best quality, antialiased image.
So I want to ask how to remove antialiasing of vector image completely.

I guess If I set render settings as Draft quality, AE renders all layers including "Best Quality" layers as Draft quality.If so,there is a problem.
If I want to render "A" bitmap layer(this layer has effects like Fast blur, Hue/Saturation) as Best quality and "B" vector layer(No effect) as Draft quality, and If I render A and B layers as Draft quality, it means I can't render "A" layer as Best quality? If so, it will be a problem. I read a manual and it says some effects won't work correctly on Draft quality layers. Is it alright to render them all as Draft quality?

Apple normally does not get involved in handling lost objects like this. Since a real name is not installed it will be much more difficult.
You can try contacting Apple support at the US number, assume you are US going to BWI from the listing: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and explain the situation and see if they offer any suggestions.

How to get input from keyboard scanner into an array

This is probably a very basic question but I'm very new to java..
My task is to reverse a string of five digits which have been entered using keyboard scanner.
E.g. - Entered number - 45896
Output - 69854
I used the StringBuffer(inputString).reverse() command for this, but i need a more basic method to do this.
I thought of defining an array of 5
int[] array = new int [5];
and then using,
Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in);
to enter the numbers. But I can't figure out how to get the five input numbers into the array.
If I can do this I can print the array in reverse order to get my result.
Any other simple method is also welcome.

Assign digits into positions,

If i understand your requirments correctly ,you need to read the value of the Variable and Put it on the layout. Here is how i would solve this,
Read the value of the variable using an ABAP program.The logic for this would be to read the variable value and post it on the layout on a cell.You can do this by calling the ABAP program on opening the layout.this can be done using LB_EXIT_FM T-code. Now using the SAP delivered SAPAfterDataPut macro, read the cell in which you have placed the variable values and assign it to the necessary values you want to on the layout.All this will be done before the layout opens.

How to get a hyperlink in ID into email?

In ID CS4 running Tiger on a G5 Mac, I have a doc which we can call, TestLinkFile.
I select a line of type in TestLinkFile, and using Type > Hyperlink & Cross-References > New Hyperlink, I create a hyperlink. It does not function as such until I export it as a PDF which is now TestLinkFile.pdf. The hyperlink I had made in ID does work properly in the PDF.
So far so good.
Then I attach that TestLinkFile.pdf, using either Mail or Entourage (which is my normal email app). I attach it using either the proper method in each program, or even by dragging the file in. BUT: Now the hyperlink is dead, dormant. If for a further test I email TestLinkFile.pdf to myself in an email, from either Mail or entourage, the dead link remains dead.
I realize we're nolonger in ID and this is the ID forum but it remains the best place to ask I think. So how do I get that hyperlink from ID into an email, preferably as a PDF TestLinkFile.pdf which anyone can open?

I neveractually checked the pdf itself. I checked its image in the email. Reason being I wanted/want to avoid a reader having to take the extra step of opening the pdf. For one, it takes time. For another, not everyone knows how to do that. And for finally, some are afraid of attachments as carriers of viruses and won't open the attachment.
The link line, blue and underlined in the email I sent myself, was dead.
As I write this I am sending a new email to myself and here is the result of opening the pdf attachment: The link in the attachment does work properly.
But my goal was to make the link in the IMAGE of the pdf attachment live. I get many emails with all kinds of junk in them and they have images which, when you click on them, act as a link to go elsewhere. That is what I want to do. I want to just have someone click on the link in the pdf and go to the destination. I do NOT want them to HAVE TO open the pdf. If everyone else can do it, I ought to be able to???

How to get color group from illustrator into flash

I have difficulties with the color management between Illustrator and Flash.
I have the original vector files in Illustrator and would like to use the color groups, I have in Illustrator, also in Flash.
One way doing it is using the Kuler.
But I can not get the colors from Illustrator into Kuler.
Can someone advice how to manage that process?

I'm fairly new to this having only recently started using these tools again after six years, but will try to help! Go to "Explore", find a theme you like and click the "Edit" selection when you mouse over it. From there you can edit it or save a copy of it as is as whatever name you wish. In Photoshop or Illustrator, they will now show up in Adobe Color Themes (Window > Extensions > Adobe Color Themes) under "All Themes" in the drop menu. In these apps (and others that are Adobe Color Theme aware), any themes that you favorite on the site will show up under "My Favorites".
If you're using Fireworks, it's different as it still uses Kuler (Window > Extensions > Kuler). Themes you save or favorite on the site don't automatically show up there, however you can search for themes by name, and if you select "Custom" from the theme group dropdown, you can enter up to four names that will show up in that dropdown menu and produce as many results as the window can hold for an individual term. For instance, I saved a theme as "Copy of Industrial Calm" which if I enter in the search box, the "group" is a group of one. However, if I just type "Industrial", the window fills with options, yet there are MANY more results on the Adobe Color site and you would have to be specific to get the right one in that window.
