How to get desktop notification of e.mails w/o actually opening Thunderbird
is it possible to receive a tray or other desktop notification when mail arrives without actually having to open Thunderbird and check accounts? I have searched for something that might do this in Thunderbird and my own programme settings but found nothing, maybe just dont know where to look ! Thanks, Lizzie
sorry, but I couldnt get thru' using "Mark as solved" so had to use "doesn't solve my problem". Anyway, appears to work now when I just minimise Thunderbird to taskbar I do get an info tray when new mail comes. So thanks for help, I am happy with result. Lizzie

How to get spool along with e-mail or FAX
Hi,
I have a requirement where i have to produce a spool even i go for e-mail or FAX option when the script is triggered.
I am using a standard program where it is coded to have either of the option. i.e. either we have to go for a printer or e-mail or FAX.

How to get Spam folder in Apple Mail?
I received some important emails in my spam folders when I checked them with Safari, but Apple mail does not have them in Inbox or Junk folder. How to get Spam folder in Apple Mail?
In the mailbox list, below the word "MAILBOXES" and the standard mailboxes (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash, & Junk), you should have some lines like "SMART MAILBOXES", "REMINDERS", "RSS", "ON MY MAC", and a line with the name of each of your mail accounts. Each of those lines may have subordinate lines indented below it, or they may be hidden. Before Lion, the top-level lines would have standard disclosure triangles to their left like folders, but Lion Mail removed that visual clue in favor of a word "Show" or "Hide" to the right that appears only when you mouse over it.
The Gmail Spam folder you seek is two folders deep inside your Gmail account.
Here's my Gmail account listing:
It has 41 unread messages. If I hover my cursor over the oval with "41" in it, the oval shifts left and "Show" appears. If I click on "Show", I get this:
If I click on the disclosure triangle left of the "[Gmail]" folder, voila!
By the way, this intermediate "[Gmail]" folder is specific to Gmail, Google Apps mail sites, and other mail sites using Google's Gmail code, as is the All Mail folder. Other servers will have their own folder structure. -

The MM periods details can be viewed In Table MARV . On the selection screen you have the option of entering the company codes , current period, year current period etc. so make the required entries and you get the all details relevant to MM periods. Also it can be downloaded as a report.Thanks -
How do I get consistent notifications from the mail app?
Hello. Inconsistently have problems with new mail notifications using the mail app. I have it set to alert notifications. I use yahoo mail. When a new mail comes in I hear the "ding" notification sound but that is all that I get. No alert, no banner, nothing in the notification pull down, and nothing in the lock screen. Then I go into the mail app and sure enough there it sits but the only notification I got was the sound. I turn off the phone and back on and it works fine for a very short time and then goes back to the other behavior. Any ideas? Thanks in advance to everyone! Have a great day!

give apple some feedback on letting iCloud also stream photos to your mailbox.
I believe this isn't done because anything in your photostream is not counted towards your free 5gb of storage given to you with iCloud. However things in your mailbox for iCloud are.
Having said that, I believe that this is the reason you're not able to access your photostream in mail at the moment. -
How to get desktop files to stay on the desktop
Please help. Desktop files keep disappearing from the desktop. So far, the only way that I can return them to the desktop is by a Restart. I can find the items in a folder labeled "Desktop" in User/(Name), but I can't find how to get them to return to the desktop proper, in a way that they stay there. How to get rid of automatically created Mail and iCal accounts on client?
I have recently setup an OS X 10.6 Server for our small office. I got the domain name wrong in the initial install and fixed this by doing a complete clean reinstall of OS X 10.6 server (now upgraded to 10.6.4).
The problem is that one of the OS X 10.6.4 clients had been setup to talk to the server prior to the rebuild. Now on this client, I cannot work out how to get rid of or change the automatically created server accounts in iCal and Mail - everytime you login, these are recreated using the old domain name (and of course don't work).
In Mail if you remove the server account (from Accounts in Preferences), it just pops back again. I even removed every trace of the old domain name from the apple.com.mail.plist file but when I re-open Mail that darned server account (with the old domain name) just pops up again.
In iCal its slightly different in that you can remove the account and it stays away while you have iCal open. But as soon as you close and re-open it, that server account just pops up again!
I thought it might be something to do with Kerberos and found a Kerberos file on the client which had the old domain name throughout it - I changed all these references to the new domain name, but still the same behaviour in Mail and iCal.
This is doing my head in. Any ideas?I have the same problem. Every time that I open iCal on the client a new account is created and an error message shown that I cannot login. I can delete the wrong account in the iCal preferences. However, as soon as I restart, the account and the error message are back.
How do I "unbind" and "rebind" a client? I searched the "Mac OS X Server
Open Directory Administration Version 10.6 Snow Leopard" but the only reference to "binding" seems to be in the context of Active Directory which I don't have.

How to get a notification or an alert in the workbench
Hi Experts,
I am creating 2 schedules,one to be completed on 1stAug and other on 2ndAug,where the 1st one depends on the other.
Now my requirement is that , If the approver forgets to approve on 1stAug,he should get a notification or an alert or an e-mail on his workbench for the incomplete task on 2ndAug also.
In my case ,even after keeping the dependency , I am getting a notification for the task which is not yet completed that is scheduled for 2ndAug.

I use mail on my Mac to get my emails and since getting my iphone i also use this. the problem is when i have mail on my computer open i only get emails sent to it. when i dont have it open i only get them sent to my iphone.
how do i set it up so i will receive all emails on both my phone and computer?
thanks.It sounds like you are using a POP3 mail server. POP3 was designed to have only one client, so when a message is downloaded to the client by default it is deleted from the server. This dates from the time when it was considered inconceivable that anyone would have more than one computer to read mail. There is a solution and a workaround. The Solution is to switch to an IMAP mail server. IMAP was designed to support multiple clients; the master copy of each message remains on the server, and the clients sync to it.
The workaround is to change the settings of the mail clients (mail.app and the iPhone) to leave messages on the server. This is not as convenient, because you have to delete them manually, but if you don't have an IMAP server it is the best you can do. -
Lost emails, how to get them back from the Mail folder?

I have a folder called +/Previous System+ inside of this folder there was folders of the system I had before.
Inside there is the Applications folder, and I deleted the old versions of the applications such as Mail, but when I did this, I lost the preferences and the email accounts, the Mail application opened as new, without any account, I still have all the folders and .mbox files under ~[User]/Library/Mail but I don't know how to make the accounts visible in Mail
Question 1: How can I retrieve my sent and received emails.
Also the accounts that I had were POP and today I learned that the hosting provider suggests IMAP, so now I'm confused.
Question 2: What should I do? if I get the accounts back will be POP or should I create IMAP accounts and try to retrieve the emails there?

Hi,
How to extract new notifications from this extractor - 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF. I am only getting notifications of type M2 . We want to get other notification no which are of type other than M2 , for example P0. Notifications for type P0 are already there in the system.
i refered to the sap note - 667544 which says that update group is not maintained. I checked in SPRO, update group is also maintained for other notification types .
Any suggestion will be helpful .

i have checked everything in BI side, there is no such restriction on notification type . I even took a notification number of type P0 and tried filling setup tables. 0 records were filled. But when i tried to fill the set up tables with a notification number of type M2, 1 record came in the setup tables.
So i am guessing its some kind of setting in SPRO which needs to be done .
Any suggestions on this matter will be helpful.

I'm not getting any Twitter notification on my iPhone, mainly on the lock screen.
I've enabled all notifications, deleted the app and re-installed, turned the phone off and on again but still nothing!
When someone @ mentions or sends me a direct message, I don't get any notifications on the lock screen, and only see it when I actually go on the Twitter app!
Anyone else had this problem?
