    hi Bevers!
what used to work for this was rebuilding the itunes preference files.
although the user tip is on a different topic, the technique for doing this is outlined here:
Scott P: My source list is missing
... my dear The Mimico Kid is my authority on this topic: if you're around, would you mind stopping by to confirm or deny if this is still what Bevers should try?

  • How do I get Firefox to display the information bar when a pop up is blocked I accidentally clicked on "Don't show this message when pop-ups are blocked" when a pop up was blocked. How do I get this message to reappear again when a pop up is blocked?

I just updated Firefox but can't get it to display the message when a pop-up is blocked. Most times I want them blocked but sometimes I need them enabled.

You can see a pop-up block icon in the right corner of the Status Bar if you have chosen to hide the information bar at the top.
You can left-click that pop-up block icon on the Status Bar and remove the check mark from "Don't show info message when pop-ups are blocked"
You can look at these prefs on the '''about:config''' page and reset them via the right-click context menu:
    Status bar icon: browser.popups.showPopupBlocker
Info bar at the top: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • AppleScriptObjc - "Don't show this message anymore"

    Hello everybody,
I'm trying to add in my app a caution sheet before doing a thing, something like "Are you sure?" with a checkbox to not show that message anymore, just like the picture below.
    How can i do that?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, something like that (I am guessing that the "string" at the beginning was supposed to be "script"), only don't forget to read your preferences/defaults after registering them, and write the defaults when your application ends:
on readDefaults() -- read current values from preferences file if it exists
tell standardUserDefaults() of current application's NSUserDefaults -- overwrite the registered items if previously saved
set suppressionCheckBox to integerForKey_("suppressionCheckBox") as integer
              end tell
         end readDefaults
on checkBox_(sender) -- update the checkbox property
set suppressionCheckBox to sender's intValue as integer
         end checkBox_
on writeDefaults() -- write new values to preferences file
tell standardUserDefaults() of current application's NSUserDefaults
                     setInteger_forKey_(suppressionCheckBox, "suppressionCheckBox")
              end tell
         end writeDefaults

    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Try to update to the latest Firefox 17.0.x version.
    *Help > About Firefox
    See:
The Firefox 12.0 version that you currently run is no longer supported with security updates
You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • How can i get a solution for this message "Your Apple ID has been disabled"?

How can i get a solution for this message "Your Apple ID has been disabled"?

Contact iTunes Store support. That message can mean one of several things:
Your credit card on file has expired
The credit card issuer has denied a charge
    Your account has been hacked
Key information in your account has changed, and Apple needs to contact you to confirm the change.

  • The "about:tabs" message always appears. The close button appears inactive so checking the "don't show this again" option doesn't work.

I am running Firefox 3.6.13 under windows/xp. All of a sudden, when opening a new tab the "about:tabs" message comes up all the time. I checked the box labeled "do not show this message again" but the "close" box seems to be inactive. Pressing it has no affect so apparently the option to suppress the message is not set. The new tab must be closed manually.

I lost several App Icons after install of 3.0 upgrade. Facebook, Tweetie, Birdhouse and a few others are no longer on the home screen, but they do sync through iTunes and I can access them if I move the home screen to the right (to show the spotlight search screen) and I can open them, the icons just won't show up. It is very inconvenient, hope Apple creates a fix for this soon.

how can i fix this problem?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.

  • "Don't show this again" checkbox in prompt?

    All,
So I have a few scripts that are designed to act on the currently open document.
Some of them by nature are pretty destructive to the document because they're designed to do some crazy stuff.
So, when the user runs the script, I'm currently presenting them with a "confirm" dialog with a blurb explaining that they should make sure to save the document before running the script (so they can always return to the previous state).
Anyway, one of my co-workers was complaining about have to see this dialog every time they run the script, as well as some other alerts I use when there are errors.
So, there's basically 3 dialogs the user will see:
    1. Confirm (Did you save your stuff, first?)
    2. Script Parameters (ScriptUI controls to adjust the various script settings)
    3. Success/Error messages
Is there a way to add a "don't show this again" checkbox to the confirm modal dialog so that it would only show the first time the script is run (per session)?
I can probably hide the Success/Error alerts by just adding a checkbox in the ScriptUI dialog, which would obviously set a variable, but in order to keep the confirm prompt from showing the next time they run the script, I would imagine I'd have to store a "cookie" type object on the users local drive? Is that possible?

You don't need a cookie… A plain text file somewhere should do you… If you were to write in the Folder.temp directory it should be flushed at computer restart… ( or so I think not checked that )
