How to get DPM cmdlts running within remote PS ISE or common powershell

Hey guys,
I'm usually using the DPM MGMT Shell on s specific DPM machine.
Now I'm started to learn PS stuff but I'm facing issues and lack of knowledge.
Hopefully you guys can give me a hint.
First... I tried to run a cmdlt within the common powershell on a DPM Server.
get-datasources ->
Get-Datasource : Unable to connect to dpm-09.contoso.com. (ID: 948)
Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer.

After trying to load DPM Module import-module dataprotectionmanager the same error came up.
But why? Whats the difference between the common powershell Environment and the dpm Shell?
I tried to run DPM cmdlts via my local installed ISE via remote entered pssession but the same error appears.
Locally installed DPM console and Import DPM Module on my machine won't help either.
executing the DPM commands within the dpm shell were succesfully.
Can you give me a hint whats going on?

Init levels no longer form a 1:1 mapping with how SMF will run things.
The default milestone is 'all'. You can override this on the boot line. I'm not sure how you might change it within the filesystem.

Need step by step instructions on how to get Lightroom to run in Windows

First I downloaded Lightroom successfully using newest version of Creative Cloud. It would not run. Literally, nothing happens.
Then I found some info online that says when Lightroom CC doesn't run, you must uninstall it and download it from the Adobe website instead of using Creative Cloud.
When I try to download it in either Firefox or Chrome, I get this error message "Firefox/Chrome doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (aam) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context."
After a lot of searching around, I discovered that I needed to download the Adobe Application Manger. I did so but it calls itself the Adobe Update Management Tool. Very confusing.
Then I went back to the Adobe website and tried to download Lightroom again and got the same error message.
Next, I ran the Adobe Update Management Tool and clicked on Get and Install Online Updates which seemed to be the only relevant choice. In the dropdown box under Select Product Type, there are many Adobe programs listed but Lightroom isn't one of them. I gave up on trying to download Lightroom directly from the Adobe website.
I then re-downloaded Lightroom successfully using Creative Cloud. It still would not run.
Next I found some info online that says you have to go into Appdata > Adobe > Local and rename the OOBE file to OOBE.old, so I did that. Lightroom still would not run. I rebooted. This time when I tried to run Lightroom, I got the screen where you have to accept Adobe's terms and conditions. I did so. Lightroom but still would not run.
Is there anyone who has been through this and knows exactly what steps in what order I need to take to get Lightroom to run? I have Photoshop CC and it runs without any problems.

You might reboot and try the other Solution #1/2 items, again. Since you did so much hacking which may not have been related to the issue, there may be something else not right because of it.
You also might try uninstalling and reinstalling LR 5.5 from the cloud, again, or installing the LR 5.5 standalone update from the Adobe updates page: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
You also might try uninstalling your all Adobe software, running the CS Cleaner and installing, again:

You haven't said what other Adobe software you're running.
Is this the very first time you've tried to run LR on this computer or have you upgraded from previous versions that worked ok?

How to get Adobe programs running?

I am running Adobe CC on a Windows 7 machine, 64bit. The machine has registry software (PC Mechanic) and McAfee antivirus. I have 8 gigs of RAM and a dual core CPU. When I run Adobe, I tend to also have a web browser like Opera running in the background. Windows is used exclusively for Adobe software. I have frequent issues with Adobe programs, like Dreamweaver or Photoshop not being able to launch. Or getting errors like "internal signature error". I have called Adobe technical support, who logged onto my computer several times, but their technicians are consistently stumped. Collegues suggested I simply uninstall and reinstall the software. That worked at first, now the programs will no longer launch---even if reinstalled.
Adobe seems unable (or perhaps just unwilling to help). It is suggested that Adobe simply cannot work on the Windows operating system. Rather, the programs are made for MAC computers, not Windows.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to get Adobe CC to run on Windows 7?

I am running Adobe CC products on a Windows 7 64-bit system too. I also use McAfee anti-virus software as well.
For troubleshooting I would try first shutting down everything running in the background not required by right-clicking on the icons in the system tray and choosing quit or exit.
When launching the Adobe apps try right clicking on the icons and choosing Run As Administrator and see if that makes any difference

How to get 'clover.cmd' running as Windows service?

Right now I have the InDesign instances all running great as services so on a server reboot they start up fine. The clover/lbq part is just the .cmd script and it's not running as a service. I looked in the documentation but haven't found any info on getting clover to run as a Windows service.
Anyone know how to set it to do this? I'm on InDesign CS6 (server).

You need to add both parameters. You should create the parameter, then specify a direction. In C# (taken from a script that executes an anonymous block, but will work for your purposes)

looking for the API that the Jrockit Console uses to connect to the Management
server on a remote JRockit JVM.

There is no such API. The JRockit console has two parts - one resides in
the JVM you are managing and get the data from JRockit, the data is then
sent over the wire to the the other part (the console itself). The wire
protocol in this case is proprietary, but you could implement something
like it yourself.

Which Mac OS version is the applet going to run on? Java in Mac OS X will support jre1.3, but earlier versions of the Mac OS only support jre1.1.2. You need to go to www.apple.com and do a search for Java. There you will find all the information about Java on the Mac platform.

I'm not sure. Are we talking about different things? It seems the original poster just wants to run gnome. You are be talking about swapping out the entire windoing system.
I still haven't downloaded and installed gnome. I find X11 crude and ugly and I have no intention of running gnome. Running an X11 window manager other than XQuartz seems very easy - even easier than I suggested above. Just create a ~/.MacoSX/environment.plist file and create an environment variable named USERWM. Set its value to be the path to whatever window manager you want to use. I used /usr/X11/bin/twm because I don't want to work too hard at X11. Log out and back in. Run an X program. Voila!
I also ran in fullscreen but I couldn't do a screen capture from that. I was impressed that it ran in windowed mode too.

How to get the last run date.

We intend to develop an incremental data load mapping using this strategy:
1) The mapping reads the date it was last run from an auxiliary table.
2) It selects from the source only those rows that were inserted or updated after said date.
3) Then, a post-mapping process updates the last run date in the auxiliary table, using SYSDATE.
The problem with this logic is that there is a gap: if the mapping starts running at 1:00 and ends at 2:00, the rows that are inserted in between will never be loaded.
Is there any way to get the value when the mapping started running? Is there a better way to do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

There is always the possibility of some record updates slipping through the crack if you are depending on dates unless you are very carefull. All of the audit tasks that the OWB-generate code performes take time. Any pre- or post- process that needs to run takes time. So which date is the best cuttoff point to equate to "when the last run of the merge (or insert or update) statement completed"?
Plus, how do you handle reloads if the previous load failed and your mapping had incremental commits?
Is your source on another server? If so, are the dates in perfect synch? The audit tables populate with sysdate of your runtime schema. Is that the same as the sysdate on your source remote database?
I would qualify my query to look for all updates since the start of the last run that finished successfully - adjusted if neccesary for sysdate differences if it is on a remote schema. And make sure that your code handles any reloads gracefully in the event that this brings back data that you have already loaded once. .
Because we use Oracle Streams to load a local staging area, we also have custom code to dump the primary keys of all data changes to utility staging tables while streams is updating the local copy. So, our Person table has an st_Person_delta table that just holds the primary keys that have been updated by Streams since the last ETL run.
During datamart load we disable the streams apply to stabilize our environment, and join these lists of pk's to their source tables to drive our ETL. So we only select data where Streams has performed an update to the row since our last run. When we are done our ETL, we truncate the primary key staging tables, and then turn streams back on to start loading up our new delta into our staging tables again..
The ETL gets pretty complex though when many tables join together in one mapping and you need to check all possible source table deltas to see if any of them got updated to determine the delta for a given dimension or fact record, but it works great once you get it all done.

Nicolas is right. You can also take advantage of exp/imp utility. That would not only get the entire db in one file but also the size will be a fraction of the entire db size.You can search for DataPump (that uses expdp and impdp) utility to expedite the export/import process.
For simple exp/imp you can do the following.
From Remote site(MUMBAI) issue
ORACLE_HOME\BIN\exp file=c:\fulldbexp09sept05.dmp log=c:\fulldbexp09sept05log.log FULL=Y userid=system/pwd@connectstringOfyourdb
Get a copy of fulldbexp09sept05.dmp and place it on your local drive in Chennai
On Local Site (Chennai)
ORACLE_HOME\BIN\imp file=fulldbexp09sept05.dmp log=fulldbimp09sept05 FULL=Y userid=system/pwd@connectstringOfyourlocaldb
By this you can take advantage of having a different db name on remote and local sites. This is a fairly easy exercise. You just need to be sure that in your TNSNAMES.ORA you have correctly defined the connectString for your db.
PS: Create a database on local server with default settings.
Make use of following to create appropriate tablespaces and users if you desire ie.
1. On Remote Site open SQLPLUS session and issue this command to find out the tablespaces, datafiles and their sizes
SQL>SELECT SUBSTR(file_name,1,60) FILE_NAME, tablespace_name, bytes
FROM dba_data_files
GROUP BY tablespace_name, file_name;
Now create the tablespaces on local sites using the result of the above query.
2. On Remote Site open SQLPLUS session and issue this command to spool user creation script.

You can create a custom metadata property and set this property with the date when the Ischedlar task runs.
So, in your code you can read this property whenever you want to read the previous date.
