Sorry, but that feature is not available on your iPod model. If it were, you would be able to find it in your iPod's *User Guide*, which is not.

All of your media that you bought from iTunes you can restore by plugging in the iPod and then right clicking on the iPod icon in the iTunes side bar and select "Transfer Purchases from (name of your iPod)"

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes.
There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. HELP ME PALEEEZE!!!! how to get music from iPOD to iTUNES on new computer

I bought this iPOD overseas and started the music downloading thing from the iTUNES on my friends' computer.
Now I'm back home in the states and have my own computer and don't have a clue how to get the music from my iPOD to MY computer.
How can I get ALL this music from my iPOD to MY computer? I don't want to lose all this music b/c I don't have the cd's b/c I got the music from someone else.
I'm new to this iPOD game as you can tell any help would be greatly appreciated. Please help me!!!!!!!

How to get music into iPod library other than with iTunes?

I am using an iPhone video editing app and want to add music to the clips. The option presented is to "add music from iPod library. I am presently traveling abroad and do not have my MacBook to sync music into my iPhone. There is tons of free music available online but the question is how to get any of it into my iPod library. I've tried a third party "download" app but it stores music inside the app, not in the iPod library. Are the only ways to put music in my iPod library either 1) sync from my MacBook or 2) buy from iTunes store? or are there other options?

The Jazz website you showed had Real audio files, and these won't be able to be played in the iPod app anyway.
But there are options for websites with mp3s.
There are apps that can play mp3s and make playlists, and some that can download music from legit websites and then play it.
Do a search for "mp3 play download" in the itunes store.
I have never needed one, but there are a few there that seem to offer what you are asking.
Theuy won't add the music to the ipod app, but they play themselves so that might be what you are looking for.

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

That is a link to get your songs back, in case you lost those too.
As for your pictures, this may or may not work, but it's worth a shot.
Also, unless you put the full picture onto the iPod (there is a setting to only put what would be viewable on the ipod onto the ipod), they may turn out smaller.
1. Open iTunes, open Preferences (in the Edit menu). This will stop iTunes from seeing the iPod, so it won't try to update it. You can see the above link for more inforation about that.
2. Open the iPod in My Computer. (may show up as a removable disk or as the name of your iPod, funess' iPd, for example.
This is where I become unsure of how this will work
Try finding the photos in the iPod's folder that you just opened. See if you can drag them to another place on your computer. That may or may not work, but it's worth a shot, in my opinion

My external HD Failed. I have some of the music backed up on DVD but all most all of it is on my IPOD. Does any one know how I could get the music from my IPOD to my new External HD? One problem I think I will have is that I have about 100G of music and an 80G Macbook. There are some programs out there that let you take the music from your IPOD to you computer but they put the music right on your internal HD. Mine won't have enough room. So this is a problem. annoying. itunes seemed to be a well designed product which did everything effortlessly. shame if apple didnt make it work for non apple MP3s. is Sharepod the only way to link non-apple MP3s or is there other products as well designed as Itunes that work? doesnt look like Sharepod has anything like the podcast and easy search music directory features of iTunes.

If the content is on an external drive, but your library knows where to find it, then it should all work. Connect your device, make some selections for what to put on it, and sync. If, on the other hand, your current iPod is the only place holding some of your media then see this user tip: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
