How to get group email addresses in BCC on iPad?

Have recently bought iPad mini, have MacBook so synced. Cannot get group email addresses to show up in iPad addresses book, and can't get them into bcc on mail?

That is because groups cannot be added in the iPad mail app, as bizarre as that seems. That functionality does not exist. You cannot create groups in the contacts app on the iPad either. Yoy can create them in iCloud.com but not on the iPad itself. You just have to add the email addresses one at a time by tapping the blue + button and selecting the contact from the contacts window that will pop up.
There are apps that let to email to groups .....

  • Outlook Add-In Mail Item Address How to get the email address for Receipents & Sender?

    Hello,
I am developing an outlook add-in and unable to retrieve the email address from the To,CC,BCC field & the "Sender".
I have written the below code -
    //Prepare list of receipients.
    List<string> emailIds = new List<string>();
    foreach (Outlook.Recipient recipient in mailItem.Recipients)
    { emailIds.Add(recipient.Address); }
    emailIds.Add(mailItem.SenderEmailAddress);
In the code above, if the receipient/sender address is saved in the address book, I get the details else "null".
Could someone please help me in fetching the correct email address irrespective of it been saved in the address book or not?
    Thanks!

    Hello Starain,
I am sorry but I do not understand why this is happening as I get proper results.
Coming to the recipient from the address book, I just want to re-confirm what we mean by "recipient
from the address book". By this, I mean that whether my recipient is a contact in the outlook address book or not, I get proper email address.
Please confirm are we on the same page? As other than this, I do not see any difference.
    Thanks!

  • ICloud Lock: Does anyone know how to get the email address to show so that I could contact the previous owner? Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I've just recently bought a second hand iPhone 5s off of ebay for christmas. It's cost me £260.00 plus £8.00 delivery costs I have full proof of purchase including receipts and have also already rung apple's support team as well as taking the phone to local phone repair stores it's clear to me that I have no other options than to get in contact with the phone's previous owner but, I currently cannot view the whole email address even after making an appointment with apple in Westfield yesterday they were quite adamant about me contacting the previous owner but not sure how i'm going to do that when I can't see an email address displayed clearly on the activation screen.

If a second-hand iOS device has been 'Activation locked' then only the previous owner can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before selling it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If you are unable to contact him to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you nor find the previous owner.
You should if possible return it to eBay or the seller and ask for a refund as in this event the device is completely useless: the vendor has sold you a brick - I don't know whether eBay have a complaints procedure which might help you.

  • How can I see the indivduals in an existing group email address - that I created

I have a group email address on Thunderbird that I created some time ago but have forgotten how to open it up to see who is on it - I need to alter it.
    Thanks

    click on 'Address Book'
A sub group known as a Mailing List will be a sub group to an address book.
If Mailing Lists are not showing, click on the small arrow to the left of the address book containing the Mailing List.
See image below - example shows I have a 'Test' Masiling list as a sub group to 'Personal Address Book'
Then select the Mailing list to see who is in that Mailing List.
Removing contacts from a Mailing list does not remove them from the associated address book.
Removing them from the associated address book will remove them from both address book and Mailing list.
You can drag and drop new contacts into a Mailing List, but they do need to have a valid email address.

  • How do I get my email address recently changed on my account in iTunes on my MacBook Pro to show up on the sign-on notice on my iPad (4th gen)?

How do I get my email address recently changed on my account in iTunes on my MacBook Pro to show up on the sign-on notice on my iPad (4th gen)?  It reflects my old email address and therefore won't recognize my password.  When I try to do something on the App Store on my iPad, it brings up a notice to sign on, which reflects the old email address, and rejects my password since the username/email address is no longer correct.  Puzzled!

I have another question for the community.  My daughter tells me that my texts to her show my primary email address as the account name of the sender (me) when I text her, rather than my cell phone number from which I'm texting her.  I've had others report that to me too. How do I turn that off so that recipients see my cell phone number displayed as the sending party and not my email address?  Thanks -

  • How do I use a Contact Group email address as the sender of an email?

I want members of the contact group to be able to manual select the contact group email address as the SENDER.  This, primarily, so that recipient clients can respond, if necessary, by merely pressing reply (then the entire group gets the email).
    Possible?

By "contact group" do you mean a distribution group?  If so, you need to use one of the following the shell commands:
    For Send on Behalf:   Set-DistributionGroup <group alias> -GrantSendOnBahalfTo <useralias>
    For Send As:              Add-AdPermission<group ID>-User<user alias>-ExtendedRights'Send-As'

How do you transfer email addresses from a iPad to a iPhone?

One way is to sync bot your iPad and iPhone to the same iCloud account with Settings>iCloud>Contacts set to On (if prompted choose Merge).  Another is to sync both devices to a supported program such as Outlook or Mac Address Book/Contacts using iTunes.  Another is to email them to your phone using an app like My Contacts Backup.

  • How to enable group email accounts

    Hi all,
I have spent a while fiddling with (and breaking) my OSX Lion 10.7.4 Server install trying to get group emails working. I would just like to share how I did it.
    Follow the below how to.
    #!/bin/bash
    # Group EMail Enabler v0.2
    # Jeff Johnson <[email protected]>
    # Tested with OS X Server 10.6 and 10.7
    # Should also work with 10.5
    # This script allows you to manage email groups using Work Group Manager.
    # If you create an executive group in WGM, you then have a executive@ email address
    # This is automatically maintained as you adjust the members
    # The script searches your LDAP groups for the word 'mail' in the comment field
    # You must add mail to the comment field for any group which should have an email address.
    # The email address for that group will be the shortname of that group.
    # If you miss this step (add 'mail' to the comment field), this script does nothing.
    # Known issues
    # 1. Only supports groups in LDAP, users can be in LDAP or Local
    # 2. Does not support other groups within your email group (no nested groups)
    # 3. Almost no error checking, so best to run it manually a few times to check results.
    # Installation Instructions
    # 1. Save this file as
    #       /usr/sbin/group_email.sh
    # 2. Then adjust permissions
    #       sudo chmod +x /usr/sbin/group_email.sh
    # 3. Modifiy alias_maps in /etc/postfix/main.cf
    #    You need to add this line to what you already have
    #        hash:/etc/postfix/group_aliases
    #     Example, you have:
    #        alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases
    #     Change to:
    #        alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases, hash:/etc/postfix/group_aliases
    # 4. To run automatically every 5 minutes, I prefer a simple addition to /etc/crontab
    #      you may need to create /etc/crontab if it doesn't exist
    #      Add the following to /etc/crontab
    #            */5 * * * * root /usr/sbin/group_email.sh >> /dev/null 2>&1
    # If you followed these instructions, within 5 minutes you will see an alias file at
    #  /etc/postfix/groupaliases
    # you can inspect the file to confirm the results.
    cd /etc/postfix
    # clear current aliases
    echo "" > group_aliases.tmp
    # Get list of groups with 'mail' in the comment field
    gr=`dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -list /Groups Comment | grep mail | awk '{print $1}'`
    for group in $gr
       do
          echo $group: `dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -read /Groups/$group dsAttrTypeNative:memberUid | cut -d : -f 3 | grep -v "No such key"` >> group_aliases.tmp
       done
    cmp -s group_aliases.tmp group_aliases > /dev/null
       if [ $? -eq 1 ]; then
          echo different
          cp group_aliases.tmp group_aliases
          /usr/sbin/postalias /etc/postfix/group_aliases
          /usr/bin/newaliases
       else
          echo same
       fi
    exit
The only additional thing I had to do with Lion Server 10.7.4 was add hash:/etc/postfix/group_aliases to the alias_maps AND alias_database in /etc/postfix/main.cf then run "newaliases" and "postfix reload"
Hopefully this helps the next person to get it all running quicker than I did
    Cheers
    Ryan

Hi Ryan, yeah 10.7.4 Lion Server - mail is swtiched on although we haven'y migrated to it yet (i do have the accounts setup though)

I've gone through it a few times and can't see any differences to the one you posted so am at a loss as to why its not working..

  • I can't figure out how to delete and email address for someone that is no longer valid.

I can't figure out how to delete an email address that is no longer valid.

Assuming that this is on your iOS device, then you can change a contact's details via the Contacts app. If it's not linked to one of your contacts then I get a blue 'i' to the right of the email address on the popup list :
Tapping on that gives me a second popup, at the bottom of which is :

How to send group emails from ipad

Thanks.  So matters haven't changed.  Ipad and iohone systems still not make use of the groups created in OSX Contacts, although one can "see" the groups synced through iCloud.  They just do not function as real distribution lists in Mail.
With the Mailshot app, one creates Mailshot groups with Mailshot group name.  It's as smooth as a work around can get.
Silly that Apple iOS folks never got around to connecting the contact groups now listed in iOS Contacts through iCloud syncing to also be fully functional in iOS Mail for the purpose of group emailing.

  • Mail: How to delete an email address in the "To" field that is no longer valid

How to delete an email address that is no longer valid but still appears as an option when typing that person's name in the field "To"; in MS Outlook this simply works by deleting that email address in the field "To" or "Cc" or "Bcc". The old, non-valid email address has been deleted in the address book and replaced by a new valid email address. When typing in the "To" field both email addresses appear as an option. Is it possible to achieve that only the valid email address is offered as an option so to avoid any confusion.

well, when the "false" address is in the "to" field, you should see a littl' arrow pointing down and a "remove from previous recipients list.
It should fix the problem. (and so, only keep the "good one"
    (oops, too late)

But I dont seem to be able to return both. Im totally lost on this so any help is much appreciated. All I need is a pointer in the right direction.

    no problem :)

Like I said changing the userRoleName="memberOf" line to ="mail" does return the email address of the user instead
