How to get home video into iphone?
Just got my iphone this week, so I'm learning how to use it, etc....I ask for your help...how to get movie from dvd disk into iphone? I already sucessfully got a song from a cd that I recorded into iphone...I'm real happy about that...now I want my favorite movie in the iphone...anybody got any suggestions, please?
Hi. If you want to get a home made DVD video into your iphone, you need to convert it first. I use MPEG Streamclip (free download) - just do a simple search for it within apple downloads or in Google. Once you convert the dvd video (be sure to convert it to the H.264 video format required for the iphone) then bring it into itunes. Then, once it is in your itunes library, you can sync it to your iphone. Don't forget, you can also purchase movies/tv shows, etc from itunes and sync it to your iphone. If you have store bought DVDs, I'm not sure what software you can use, as most are copy protected. I think the latest version of TOAST can convert most copy protected dvds, but I have not confirmed this. Good luck!

I have 6 home videos that I want to put into iTunes....both the iTunes library on the hard drive and the iTunes app. I had them in there but for some reason they got mixed up and I deleted them. I have the copies so how do I get them into the iTunes library on my hard drive and into the itunes app so I can look at them.
It is such a mess and I'm trying to make my question as simple as possible. Here is one thing that happens...when I tried to put the videos into iTunes they went into a folder called Home Videos. But there is no folder on iTunes called Home Videos....it is called Movies which is where the videos were before. There is no place for me to access a folder called Home Videos because there isn't one. And, If I access the old Movie Folder it is empty. The Movie folder is permanent....put there by iTunes so I can't delete it and add add one called Home Videos.
Can anyone straighten out this mess? The only good news is that I still have copies of the home videos...they were not deleted.Drag them into the library folder.

How to get a video into Keynote
I am using a PC with iTunes, I have all the videos synced to my iPad, i have purchased Keynote and with some hard work got my ppt into Keynote. I wanted to add a video to it but I dont see how to do it. Can i still do it using a PC? Help!
Since your on a Window computer the only way I can think of is to place the video in a Power Point and import that into the iPad. Open the Power Point in keynote and then copy the video into your keynote presentation. The video will have to be in a format that the iPad supports.

I have many videos on my old iPhone under iPod application.
How can I upload them onto my computer and then on my new iPhone without Backup/Restore because Apple recommended to not restore the new iPhone from the last backup.
Thanks!The songs I'm trying to reload on my phone are on my PC. These we had loaded into iTunes. I can remove them all from the library and then add them all back one by one I imagine. The problem I'm having is that I removed them manually from the phone, they still appear in iTunes music library yet they won't sync. I don't want to take the time to compare the phone to my library, remove from the library what's missing on the phone and then add them all back again. 64GB (mostly music) will take a while.

How do I get home video clips from iMovie Mac to iMovie iPad? Surely there is some degree of cross-compatibility? I have a load of clips in iMovie on my MBP that I wanna download to my iPad2 so that I can edit movies on the move. Any ideas? (The clips are in a .mov format, they have been imported / converted into this format in iMovie, original files were from a JVC camcorder in some other strange format.)
I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places. I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file. There must be something else that's missing. My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive. If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess. I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={ Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period. I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive. Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me). As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!" -

I had a av cord that plugged into the iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 but its not compatible with the 5 connector. Right now i have to email myself the videos in small segments and open and save on the iPad 2 to burn them. Is there an easier way to burn these from my iPhone 5 or through air play on apple tv?

I read your entire message, and my mom's iPhone 5 does this exact same thing. When the idiot at the AT&T store transferred her data (well, most of it) to her new phone, he DID NOT use her latest iCloud backup like he should have, but used some features in "Bump" to move things across. So, in my opinion, it's not worth the hassle of restoring it as a new device as Tim suggests. That's just the easy answer. Here's something odd about hers. It seems to do this, when she's using her bluetooth earpiece (a Jawbone Icon), but not when she's got bluetooth disabled on the iPhone 5 and holding down the "Home" button to activate Siri. If she uses her Jawbone bluetooth earpiece to activate Siri, the answer that Siri presents on the phone's screen will only stay on for about five seconds, then dim, then go blank -- and she has to "swipe to unlock" and, of course, the Siri information is gone. Not so if she uses the Home key to activate Siri.

I am having an issue with duplicate Libraries showing up in my Home Sharing "Home Videos". It happens when I import home videos into iTunes and change the names of the files. How do I avoid this from happening and delete the duplicate libraries?
The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

The iphone is not storage/backup device.
The sync is one way - computer to iphone.
The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -

You can't. FCE doesn't support DVCPRO HD. You'd have to convert it to the Apple Intermedia Codec in some other sofware. FCE also probably doesn't support the frame resolution the P2 media is using.

How do you import a video from Home Videos into Keynote?
Some one cleverly (not) decided that imported videos now must go in "Home Videos" but Keynote cannot import from there? How do you import a "Home Video" into Keynote?
This means that your file extension is set to playback on Windows Media Player thats all.
Change your folder settings in Windows Explorer, go to Folder Options, View tab, and uncheck hide extensions for known media types.
Then look at your filename and it should read "video name.mp4" or .m4v or .mov, these are the only file types that will play back on the 5G ipod. -
How to get a video on to iphone
So, after some effort, I think I have a video I shot with my Panasonic camera converted to a Iphone friendly format. I can's seem to get the video into Itunes so in can synch into the camera. I add it as a file, but it does not show up anywere on itunes. I am not getting any kind of warning from itunes. Any advice.

If you're syncing with a different iTunes library than the one you previously synced with, then there is no way around it. You're gonna loose the old data. The only way round it would be to make sure that all the music files on your iPhone is also in your iTunes library. If you still have access to the computer with the old library, you could copy the files on to an external harddrive, and then import them into your new iTunes library.
If it is in fact the same library, then the music currently on your iphone, is also in your itunes library. Just make sure that the artists/albums/playlists, or whatever you sync contains these tracks, that you allready have on your phone and don't want deleted. What i do is, i create a playlist specifically for my iPhone, and i set it up to only sync with this playlist. Whenever i hear a track from my iTunes library or buy a new track that i want on my phone, i just drag it to this playlist and next time i synchronize, it's there without deleting anything else.
