How to get into iPod Diagnostic Mode

I followed someones advice to get into Diagnostic Mode...duplicated below.
Problem is after rebooting iPod and the apple logo appears the button combination didn't work to get into Diag Mode for my iPod. Anyone know the combination for a 15GB docking (touch wheel) iPod????
Instructions provided on forum:
1)Maybe you have damaged hard drive, you can check that by running a HDD Scan.
2)To do that you need to get into diagnostic mode.
§First reset the iPod
§How to reset iPod:
1.Connect iPod to the iPod Power Adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet.
2.Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)About 4 times, when you are finished make sure it is not on hold.
3.Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons (select is the middle button) until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this tep. There are two small pins within the iPod that need to make a connection to reset the iPod the pressure has to be just right. Sometimes it is easier to do this if you put the iPod on a flat surface.
§Then as soon as you see the apple come up on the screen, change to pressing select and the previous arrows (the arrows that are pointing to the left).
§The screen will change it will say IRAM PASS, DIAG VER.
§PRESS PLAY TO CONTINUE.
§Press play to continue and then using the advance arrows, (arrows that point to the right), scroll down to the HDD SCAN and press select.
§It should take anywhere from 45 mins to around 2 hours for the scan to run.
§The scan will tell you exactly if your hard drive is damaged. This also can have effect on your battery life.

Actually, there's nothing you can do in Diagnostic Mode to create a problem, you can only check for them
Nope. HARD R/W will do a test of both writing and reading of the hard drive. This test is destructive, your data will be lost. There's also the CLEAR BLKS test and the HDD DROP test.
Not to mention that the scanning processes exercise the hard drive quite a bit, and frankly the iPod drive isn't made to stand that kind of abuse for very long.
In any case, there's realistically nothing you can test in diag mode that you can't test in other ways. A simple format will check the drive for sector errors (along with erasing it). There's very little point to using the diag mode.

  • Anyone have a syggestion on how to get my Ipod touch working again besides putting it into restore mode

Anyone have any ideas on how to get an Ipod touch to charge or sync without putting it into restore mode, I've prettymuch tried everything thats been put online so far

    Tried DFU mode?
To do this follow these instructions:
        1. First, Open up iTunes, plug in your iPod Touch/iPhone to the Computer's USB port. Turn on your Computer's speaker and make sure it is loud enough that you can hear it.
        2. Hold down the Home button (top left for iPod Touch and top right for the iPhone with the screen facing you) and the Power button (located on the front bottom of your iPod Touch/iPhone) simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off. (past the red slider/slide to power off screen)
        3. Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
        4. After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your Computer as if it had just recognized a new hardware device, now iTunes should recognize it in DFU mode.
        5. After iTunes recognizes the iPod Touch/iPhone, let go of the Home button otherwise it will go into recovery mode and you will have to do the entire DFU process over again.
        6. You will know when you have put your iPod Touch/iPhone correctly into DFU mode when the display is blank and that you do not have anything on your device.
Once you have done this click restore and iTunes sould start to dowbnload and install the latest firmware.
#Please note this will reset your iDevice to factory settings

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

  • Alter a BAPI Result Table, how to get into the display "loop" ?

    Hello all,
i have a problem regarding the result rows of a RFC/BAPI Call.
There are three views, let's say 1,2,3. In View 1, i call a BAPI, and display the results in a table in View 2. I added a button in each row, which calls View 3 and displays some details concerning the selected row.
I now want to store a flag for each row, that has been displayed in this way.
In View 3 i store the key value of the displayed row in an own value node in the context.
When i go back from View 3 to View 2, i want to see that flag (in an extra column) in every row, that has been selected in this session.
So i do not know, how to alter a single row in the BAPI result table, how to get into the "loop" that is used by WD to display the table.
already tried a supply function, but i was not able to alter single rows.
Any suggestions/tips or perhaps code fragments of working supply functions ?
    Thank you !

    Hello,
I'm not sure whether I understood your problem correctly, but I will try to give an answer.
The easiest way I see is to copy the RFC Results to a Component Controller Context structure with an additional Flag field. You can use WDCopyService for copying.
Then on the event of selecting you set your flag as appropriate for you (e.g. if you want to use an image as flag you set the Image path) on the current element of your table. Then display View 3.
On going back View 2 should show now the new flag values...
The trick is to copy the values (as at Time structures can not be expandend with new fields) and set the Flag on the onSelect event.
    Hope this helps,
    Frank

    LOST PASSCODE
You should be able to remove the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.
    Otherwise read this
If that doesn’t work  you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it. Or read:
