I was prefectly happy with my iPod until I got the notice to upgrade itunes to 11.1 and would you like to upgrade your iPod from IOS 6 to IOS 7. And like an idiot I took the little green pill and pushed the button. Now I can't open iTunes, some apps; like the Lindsey Sterling app, Safari and Disney don't work either (not that I care about the Disney one, but, it's part of the base setup, you'd think "IT" would work!) almost anything with video links will not open, iCloud can't find me. And I have goggled-- found a few fixes: re-install, restore, etc. found one that stated to get iTunes back to go into the iPods setting by double ckicking the home button go to iTunes app and sign out, then sign in again-- those options didn't work. If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Can someone please assist me. I was given an iPod 3G as a gift and I tried to download various apps and it told me that my iPod needs to be iOS 7 or more but I checked and my iPod is at its latest upgrade which is 6.1.6, how can I get those app?

My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. All I get is the Apple sign. I connected to my computer and tried updating and was able to download the USB connection for the device but received an error when it tried to update the ipod. In the appstore there are only the lat app versions, most of them are incompatible with my device.

So I'm stuck with my Ipod, which can't be upgraded anymore to higher IOS versions, and with the appstore, that does not offer older versions; versions that have existed and still exist, perhaps in the recycle bin of some users, or somewhere in the appstore servers.

If you have the iPod Touch 4th generation then i'm sorry to say that your out of luck. It can only be downloaded on iPod Touch 5th gen. If you have the 5th gen iPod Touch then you go to settings > general > (second one from the top) Software update. and click instal for the one that says iOS 7!

My ipod worked until I purchased teh iOS 3.1.1 update from the apple store. Now my Ipod touch 1g will not even restore to the original iOs. How can I get it to update to the 3.1.1 version or restoer it. It worked fine prior to the update.
Just to give you an update, I got the iOS 3.1.3 installed (Even with the error messages 1602 & 1604). This is how I did it.
1. Turn off all spyware and antivirus
2. Open ITunes and purchase iOS and download (don't connect you ipod to the computer yet), don't select download and install. Close itunes after download.
3. My ipod was frozen with the connector and iTunes symbol in the screen, so I turned it off and with the usb plugged into the computer, hold the home button down (Puts it in recovery mode), now connect the end of the sync cord to the ipod, open iTunes and let it boot up. You should see the message that it found an ipod in recover and need to be restores. click ok and then select update.
4. This is where it will update and freeze again in restore. To continue update, leave the ipod connected (Don't touch it at all. Close iTunes and then reopen it. The connection should be made the the update should install.
It worked for me, maybe it will fro yo. -

You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library. If you sync with another iTunes library/computer the media from the iPod will be deleted and replaced with the media on the second computer.

You need to restore from backup. The backup contains app data like game progress. Make sure that autosyncing is turned off otherwise whe yu connect iTunes will make a back that does not contain the data. To to that go to iTunes>Preferneces>Devices and check the box that says Prevent iPods....syncing.
Yu can alsolook at the date/time of the backup on that screen and see if it might contain the data. -

One day I woke up and I found my iPod on the floor. I forgot to plug it in so I thought it died, but decided to test and see. When I tried to turn it on, the Apple logo went away and displayed the connect to iTunes screen. I connected it to iTunes and clicked restore. After a few minutes, there was an error message saying that iTunes couldn't restore the iPod and the error code was 21. Have any ideas on how to get it out of recovery mode?
