How to get Iphone 4 backups

Okay i have been using a windows computer for the past year and have a number backups for my Iphone 4 on it.. When i connected the iphone to my new macbook pro it asked if I wanted to update the firmware and I chose yes. When the whole thing was done I lost all my data, contacts (most important), apps, pictures and other things.
NOW, is it possible to find these backups on the windows pc and store them somewere on the macbook pro so that Itunes can see them and I can apply them to my iphone 4.
If there are other alternatives please help

Well , unfortunately the reason why im now using a mac is beacuse my windows pc is not working anymore. So the only option i have is to access the PC's hard drive using the macbook i have now, and as I asked, is it possible to find the backups and place them somewere in the macbook so that itunes can read them? Will the format of the backups be the same despite the OS difference. And will i have any problems. I can not resort to fixing the windows pc because that is why bought the mac- so i dont have to bother myself anymore with the windows pc.. Please help. thanks!

I recently changed my wifi password at home and now my iphone will not connect.  It will not ask me for a password just says will not connect to network.  Advice on how to get iphone to ask network password for wifi?

First, try tapping on the network in the Wi-Fi settings and then tap "forget this network". Then reselect the network in the main Wi-Fi settings screen and see if will then ask for a password. If not, try resetting the Network Settings in the General -> Reset section and then reconnecting to your W-iFi.

  • How do i get iphone backup files to show in itunes?

    Hi.
Ive recently had to start using another computer due to a component failure, and as a result managed to wiped my iphone of its original contents during an update on the 'new' computer. I have my old hard drive connected to this computer via a docking station, and can access all the files on it with no problems. I've deleted any itunes stuff on the 'new' computer so that the only apple/itunes stuff is on my old hard drive, but when i launch itunes, its not like it was when i left it. no music loaded in library etc. not a major issue as the music is all still on the hard drive. My issue is with the apps and back ups for my phone. I can view the folders with the back ups in, but they wont show in itunes. I'd love to restore my phone back to how it use to be.
Can anyone help me out, as i'm at a brick wall with my knowledge level.
    thanks in advance
    Dave.

You can open an alternate library by holding down shift when starting iTunes.
A GUID is a Globaly Unique IDentifier. I this case I the backup folders appear to be named bunch of numbers & letters probably meant to be unique. If your original library opens properly (and you haven't wiped the device) then you don't need to worry about restoring the iPhone backups from the previous system.
There's another GUID buried in the iTunes Library.itl that identifies your old library as the "home" library for your device. If you try to connect the device to a new library, even if it has all the same content, iTunes will want to wipe the device and start over. Not so much a problem for media but you might lose app settings. Best if you can connect properly to your old library, otherwise restoring from a preserved backup should restore your app data.

  • How to us iPhone backup file from Time Machine drive to restore iPhone

Stupidly, I deleted my primary account on my iPhone that contained my contacts and calendar. I don't currently subscribe to MobileMe. I took advantage of the free service when I bought my phone, but decided not to subscribe as I synch my iPhone to my computer and back up my computer using a hard drive connected with Time Machine. Unfortunately, when I stopped using MobileMe, a synch to my iTunes wiped out all my contact data in my Address Book on my computer and my calendar. Therefore, all my most current information was on my iPhone.
I went to the Apple store and was told that the iTunes backup file may be used to restore the contacts and calendar information on my iPhone. I synched my iPhone to iTunes and then did the iPhone restore to factory settings. Only then did I realize that the older, correct backup file was not an available option in the dropdown.
So, I'm trying to figure out how to pull an older iPhone backup file and then use it to restore the iPhone. The only thing is that when I go to Time Machine and look at an older Library --> Application Support --> Mobile Sync --> Backup folder, there's a whole bunch of .mdbackup files in there.
How do I select what I need? How do I get the iTunes protocol to run the restore on my iPhone using those files?

Select the folder that contains the .mdbackup files and use Get Info for the folder to check the date the backup was updated. I would forget about trying to extract individual .mdbackup files and transfer the entire folder to the same location on your computer's hard drive - with iTunes quit before doing so.
After doing so, this backup should be available to select when restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup.
If this is successful restoring contact info and calendar events on your iPhone, if the Address Book and iCal on your Mac is empty - it does not contain any data, before syncing your iPhone direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac, enter one unique contact in the Address Book, and one calendar event in iCal on your Mac. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing this data, which you want to select.
Does Time Machine include a backup of your Address Book and iCal on your Mac? If so, it will be much easier and faster to restore the Address Book and iCal on your Mac from your Time Machine backup.

Hi, can someone help please - my iPhone hasn't been backed up since early August, now I can't seem to get it to back up to iCloud. I have 9GB of space, I have left it plugged in etc for 11hrs, but keep getting the same message " iPhone backup could not be completed" -what dies that mean.?

    Hi,
I was facing issues with both backup and FB integration after the iOs 6 upgrade.  Before then I did not have any issues with the iCloud backup service, but after a few days, I noticed that it was continually stuck at the Estimating time for the backup and it never progressed.
As any good techie would, I tackled the most pressing issue first . . . FB integration of course.
I had read in a separate post about this solution so tried it . . .
I deleted the original FB app and hard booted the phone.  I then went into settings and entered the data for FB integration.  Seconds later, I received a text message to my phone - already listed and verified in FB with a 6 digit code to re-enter instead of my password.  Seconds later I was verified and then prompted to download the FB app.  All backup and integrated.
Then I went into the iCloud backup, turned it off . . . and deleted the last backup.  I then re-enabled backup . . . and although I thought I was going to face the same issue, after a few minutes, it moved on from Estimating time . . . to actually backing up.  It is now a small way through the backup and seems to estimate that it will take another two hours to complete.
A good nights work.  Backup and integration all sewed up.  Good luck.
    Cheers
    Ian

  • How to get Systemstate Backup size using PowerShell command in Windows 2008 R2

    Hi,
We using WBSummary command to get completed backup status.
I need to find how much data is backed up  using powerShell command .
Is there any way to get the details , i can see the GUI but no in command.
    Please advise
    Regards Gopi K

    Hi,
You mentioned that you can see the system state backup size in the GUI. Does the backup size mean the amount of date transferred?
It seems that there is no such a PowerShell to get Systemstate Backup size. You may need to you need a PowerShell scripts to do this work.

  • How to get iphones / ipad user agent for internet access

    Hi.
We recently setup some wireless, and I'm wondering how I can get iphones and ipads connected to the internet without prompting for a username and password. Even if it does prompt and we put in our domain credentials, things don't work.. it's like it heavily restricts access. However if you put DOMAINNAME\ in front of your user name, then it seems to work.
Without making static IP reservations and attaching those ip's to no authentication in IronPort... isn't there a way to assign these devices to a policy via their user agent string? Problem is finding that string amongst different versions of iphones and ipads.
I visited www.ipchicken.com on my iphone and it said Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us)
    AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5
What part of this do I copy into the user agents field for my no autnentication identity that I'm trying to alter? I tried putting AppleWebKit in, but it still blocks almost everything.
Right now in this Allowed User Agents identiy i have Windows Update checked, as well as these:
    (MSOffice\x2014)
    Microsoft NCSI
    SSLSoapClient
AppleWebKit (does not seem to work)
    Thanks for the help!

I think I figured it out.  Followed this closely:
    https://ironport.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ironport.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1426&p_sid=ODIeCGuk&p_lva=1713&p_li=cF91c2VyaWQ9MXJvblAwcnQmcF9wYXNzd2Q9Zm8wQmE1
Also do you guys know if the custom user agent field can accept wildcards?  Problem is, every version of iOS for iPhone 1, 3G, 3GS, 4, and iPad 1 & 2, or ipod touch (various generations) all have variations in their user strings.  If I could just do a blanket statement for like *iphone* , *ipad*, etc.... that would be easier.
So are there any wildcards or txt masks that can be put in and interpreted in the custom user agents field?

    Hello,
I am very new to Labview. Í have an image of an LED and wanted to find the luminance value. I got the luminance image from the IMAQ ExtractSingleColorPlane but the value is not displaying. Thanks in advance.
Before learning about LabVIEW, learn about images.  An Image (in LabVIEW) is a "representation of an image", that is, the wire itself doesn't really have a "value", but "points to" a collection of data that can be "imaged" (i.e. looked at as through it were a picture), "manipulated" (for example, extracting a color plane, basically getting the "red channel", an image looking as through it were viewed through a red filter), and possibly returning arrays of numbers representing the intensity of the light at a certain position in the picture.

  • How to get iPhone in VT?

So, Vermonters can finally get iPhones, but I can't seem to be able to get anyone at at&t to be able to help me.
The local place isn't a 'real' at&t store, so can't touch an iPhone (so they say).
They can't seem to tell me if they can make my existing account into an iPhone capable account.
We have two phones on this account, and I want to change my phone to an iPhone. I would like to do this asap.
I call at&t and they don't have any idea what to do, or even where there is a store in VT. All my searching gets me at&t telephone numbers in VT that are either disconnected or fax lines.
    Any suggestions?

    AT&T Locations:
    http://www.wireless.att.com/find-a-store/index.jsp?_requestid=158435
    Apple Store Locations:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/
When you get an iPhone it changes the service plan you have with AT&T, but nothing major. Don't worry about them being able to change your AT&T account into an iPhone capable one, because it doesn't matter what type of Cell account you have with AT&T, they can change it to the iPhone plan.

  • How to get iPhone pictures from iTunes backup

I had an iPhone4 that was physically crushed. My company replaced the phone with an non-iPhone. I was good about using iTunes to back the phone up. How do I retrieve the pictures that were taken with my iPhone and was backed up using iTunes? I wasn't using iCloud. I didn't see an obvious way. Are my pictures on my computer but "lost" forever?

After searching Apple Support, and just playing around with iTunes, I finally found a solution!
When in iTunes, click edit, and then select 'Add To Library'. I selected pictures from iPhoto, and since then, I've been able to manage my photos, and sync them to my iPhone once again!

  • HT1937 how to get a backup password which i have never made

i tried all my password but non of them worked how do i get a password for the back up on itunes

There isn't a way to recover the password.
You can try leaving the password field blank.
You can also try using an Exchange account password, some Exchange configuration profiles will require the iPhone to create encrypted backups.
If you can't remember the password, iTunes won't restore the iPhone from that backup. If you don't remember creating a password and think it was a bug or something, try contacting Apple.

  • How to get iPhone 4 to syn to my iTunes again?

How can I get my iPhone to sync to iTunes on my computer again?... So here is my story. A while back, my itunes library on my PC decided to crash and delete itself. Before this happened I could manage everything on my iPhone 4 just fine. Now I can't do anything to my iPhone via my PC- add/delete music, manage apps, update software, etc. When I try to do anything I get an error message saying that the iPhone can only be synced to one computer and that I will have to delete everything on the phone to be able to manage anything on it. So it would appear that since my iTunes crashed, my phone doesn't recognize my computer anymore. Is there a way to reauthorize my computer to be able to manage my iPhone, or will I be forced to restore my phone? And if I do have to restore my phone, will everything, including my contacts, be deleted, or just my music and such?
Thank you to anyone who can help.

    Here's what you do:
    1. Go to the apple website on you iPhone
    2. Bottom right hand corner of the website, it says: "iPhone 4 Case Program" -- click on "learn more"
    3. Right side of the page you will see an iPhone with "download the app from app store" underneath it. Click those words
    4. it will take you to the app store, and NOW download the app. apparently, its a secret way (according to an apple employee)
    hope that works!

i dont have a backup copy from my old computer
Really?  Why would you do that?
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone to your comptuer.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
You should import any pics taken with iphoen to the new computer, as you would with any other digital camera.
You can e-mail the pics that you synced to the iphone to yourself.  They will not be of the original quality.
If you enter one unique contact and calendar entry on the new comptuer, then when you sync, you should get the option ot merge the data.
    No backup is not good.
