How to get iWord to use hotkeys for runic letters and accents . . . ????

Hi -
Just got my first mac ever (an MBP) last week, and I'm working away on my PhD in medieval literature and loving this new computer!
In MS Word, my PC has flexible hotkey options, which allow me to choose combinations to produce runic letters (the "eth" and "thorn" and "ae" ligature) that are vital to my work, not to mention also simple accents, like those you'd encounter in French and Spanish.
I can paste these items into iWord, but the hotkey functions (after I assign them in iWord just as I would in PC Word) only produce lovely little cubes in the text . . . . ??? Why is this happening?
Please tell me there is a way to make this work that doesn't involve endless pasting or "replace with" practices? Please?!?
cheers,
Leif (aka desperate geeky medieval studies student . . .)

Are the letters you call runic þ, ð and æ? If so use the U.S. Extended keyboard layout. (Apple Menu > System Preferences > International > Input Menu.) alt+t for þ, alt+d for ð and alt+' for æ.
You can get a quick overview of keyboard shortcuts for each keyboard by showing the Keyboard Viewer. (Same list.)
You also have the runic unicode characters, like ᚱᚠᚦ and so on, but I think they only display if you have additional fonts, and you will need a separate keyboard layout to type them. I do not know what is available there. Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runes#Unicode for more info.

have an ipod and then got the wife an iphone4. all passwords are screwed up. she can not access playstore cuz she doesn't have password. i can not get find any help on how to get or update a password for the ipod. and then get her a separate password for her iphone. we need to save her photos, music, etc to ? icloud and the phone stuff to verizon cloud? so when she gets her new Iphone6 she can have all her "stuff" back on the new phone. hope this makes sense. please offer suggestions here or at [email protected] thanks for your help!

Oh no! I'm sorry to see there's a lot of confusion here and data shared, x-rayDon. We can definitely work to fix. This happens when two devices share the same Apple ID, so she will need to reset hers. She can do so by assessing this link Apple - My Apple ID. You will need to decide who will keep the account if want separate Apple IDs since purchases cannot be shared unless you do Family Sharing.

  • [SOLVED] Getting freezes after using dwm for some time and exiting it

Hello, I have an Asus Ux51, with a fresh (less than a month) arch installation. If I recall correctly I had a couple of freezes in other occasions but I don't remember much about those so I rather focus on the only freeze I can more or less reproduce and I've been having lately. After using dwm for some time with a couple of programs opened (rTorrent, browser, and some terminals for instance), if I close dwm or just press the power button to shut down, it starts closing everything and either stays with a black screen, or hangs while X prints the log information. It's not always though, for example, if I just boot it, open dwm and close it without giving it much use it usually closes fine.
Tried googling a bit to see the usual ways to troubleshoot this but didn't get really far.

Found this recent thread in the forums, I'll give REISUB a try late, but the times it freezed I remember trying to blindly reboot it, or switching off virtual console and couldn't.
In case it's of any use, this is my # uname -a
    Linux arch 3.10.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 26 11:26:59 CEST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Could it have something to do with the nvidia optimus setup that this laptop has? When installing arch I found out that there was no support yet for it so I'm just using the intel drivers (following what the arch wiki said).
Any ideas or advice to point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't start st in my .xinitrc. I launch it from dmenu and usually everything is fine. If I launch it from dwm's internal command using Alt-Shf-Return, X freezes 100% of the time. A workaround was suggested by st's main developer to call st like this:
    static const char *termcmd[] = { "/bin/sh", "-c", "st", NULL };
but it didn't work for me.
Very rarely X will freeze anyway. I haven't been able to pin it down. When X fails, my journal returns this:

  • How to get SAP to use SSL for Content repository?

I have defined a content repository in OAC0.  I would like SAP and the end user to use SSL when talking to the repository.  I have obtained a certificate for the repository, so that I can manually trference the repository via https... but in OAC0 when I press the Test Connection button I get "Connection Error:No SSLsupport available".  Do I have to import the content repository certificate into STRUST or something?

    Hi Ken,
please have a look at the SAP note [712330|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/712330].

  • How to get the New created Hier for existing IO and IS in the Infopackage

    hello Gurus,
I have created a new Custom hierarchy on an existing InfoObject 0Costcenter. There are many Hierarchies already existing and being fed from R3. This new hierarchy is just a regrouping of costcenters.
Now I have created this new Hier and activated it, When I tried to create a Infopackage to load this new Hier, I am not finding the new created Hierarchy in the Hierarchy Selection tab of Infopakage. What should I do to see this new HIer.
    Thanks
    Simmi

so, the costcenter hierarchy created by the user is not a std costcenter hierarchy, so it should be a set hierarchy. go to tcode BW07 in r/3, give the name of the table and field, if you like the name of the datasource too orelse the system woudl generate it. But the costcenter hierarchy is compounded to controlling area, you would need to write a user exit to populate the compounding object too in the datasource, orelse all the costcenters would be unassigned to controlling area. once created, you can check the same in rsa6. once you see it there, replicate the DS to BI, and after that the data flow is same. create a new infopack to load the set hierarchy, as you wont be able to see this hierarchy in the std costcenter hierarchies.

    Hi,
Am facing the same issue stated above that I couldnt get all the records in the table that am querying in the Proxyservice.
    For example:
fn-bea:execute-sql('EsbDataSource', 'student', 'select Name from StudentList' ) is the query that am using to fetch the records from the table called StudentList which contains more than one records like
    Id Name
    01 XXX
    02 YYY
    03 ZZZ
I tried to assign the result of the above query in a variable and while trying to log the variable, I can see the below
    <student>
    <Name>XXX</Name>
    </student>
I want to have all the records from my table in xml format but it's not coming up. I get the value only from the first row of my table.
    Please suggest.
    regards,
    Venkat

Not sure what you mean by that: is that URL in an image, or is it actual text?
If it is in an image, then you need to extract the image, edit it with something like Photoshop, then add it back to the PDF.
If the URL is actual text, I suggest that you remove the entire URL, then add the corrected link.

    Hi barryfromwarrington,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  There are two things I can think of to keep your Stepdad's information separate from yours on the computer and the iPad.   On the computer, he should have his own administrative account, and on the iPad he needs his own Apple ID for iTunes and iCloud services.  Here is some basic information to get started.  I don't know if you have a Mac or Windows computer, so I'll include info for both.)
OS X Yosemite: Set up users on your Mac

OS X Yosemite: Set up users on your Mac
If your Mac has multiple users, you should set up an account for each person so he or she can personalize settings and options without affecting other users.
    Add a user
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon  to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Click Add  below the list of users.
Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
administrator: An administrator can add and manage other users, install apps, and change settings.
Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Using a password hint is recommended to help the user remember his or her password.
    Click Create User.
For an administrator, select “Allow user to administer this computer.”

  • Does anyone know how to get Adobe to stop charging for a subscription that is no longer being used?

Does anyone know how to get Adobe to stop charging for a subscription that is no longer being used?

For full details on cancelling a membership and subscription see the following page:
Cancel your membership or subscription | Creative Cloud
Depending on where you are in your subscription cycle / membership and the type of membership
If you have an individual membership, and opted for the annual membership (lower monthly fee). If you are cancelling in the middle of your membership, then you would be billed 50% of what's left of your membership for the remainder of the year, basically that would then in $$s become more like having taken out a month-by-month membership (higher monthly membership fee).
If you are in the last month of your annual membership or your are on a month-by-month membership, you can log into your creative cloud account, cancel the plan yourself (no additional charges apply), by logging in with your Adobe ID and password, click your name in top left of screen and click on Manage Account.

The Radeon 9000 driver works for the Radeon 7500 card.  I have successfully used it on a T43 with Vista Ultimate x86

Unfortunately no.  The Radeon 9000 driver should bring your graphics score up to close to 2, but it will not get it high enough to enable Aero support.

  • How to get calender in f4 help for select options in module pool (URGENT)

    Hi All,
how to get calender in f4 help for select options in module pool
    Please help .
    Thanx in advance,
    amruta

    Hi Amruta,
First of all, you can not create select-options directly in module pool.
For creating <b>select-option is dialog prog</b> follow these steps:
    1. create your selection screen model as subscreen by:
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 2000 AS SUBSCREEN.
    PARAMETRS: P_MATNR LIKE MARA-MATNR.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: S_BISMAT FOR MARA-BISMAT.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 2000.
    2. create a screen ( example 100 ) in your module-pool dedicated for selection-screen. on this screen layout sketch a sub-screen name like subscree_2000.
    3. write this bit of code in PBO and PAI of the screen 100;
    CALL SUBSCREEN SUBSCREEN_2000.
    4. include this code in PBO:
    INCLUDING SY-REPID '2000'
    6. write user_command of PAI, call screen which is going to executable after selection-screen.
    5. create a transcation for this dialog module pool with screen 100.
    6. execute this transaction and you can see it's behaving like cool with select-options.
After that in [bprocee on value-request]</b>, use F4_DATE for both from and to option field.
Hope it will solve the problem.

I then reinstalled CS6 and was able to use it for a day and now, today, I am getting the same message I got with PS CC2014 saying my VRAM is too low again. I'm in the middle of a project that needs to go live tomorrow. HELP!!! Please.

Photoshop requires 512 Meg of VRAM or more to use the 3D features - that's been the same for version 14 (CC) and now 15 (CC 2014). Check Help->System Info to see how much your card says it has.

  • Get list items using spservices for sharepoint 2013

    Hi,
I have a requirement like below.
I have 2 sharepoint custom list with some columns.
    List1:listA
    List2:listB
Now when i open the listB new item form i want some of the field values from listA should auto populate in Textboxes of listB new form.
Is there any ways to implement this?
    Regards,
    Poovi

    Hi Poovi,
You can achieve this using jQuery to get the SharePoint list items. Refer the below articles. It has explained how to get list items using jQuery and auto populate a text-box from a list item as a source.
You can put this code in list forms through SharePoint Designer. The articles explain about auto populating text box of web part but similarly you can implement it for list form, because nevertheless the text boxes are same.
