How to get library onto new phone
I just got my IPhone yesterday and when I set it up on my computer at home I noticed that there was another level of music, movies, and TV shows. It looks like it's created a new library or something for my IPhone. How can I get my existing library onto the phone? Also, will I be able to buy from my wish list, which I have created on the computer on both the computer and the phone? If I'm not able to do that now, how can I set this up?
I tried what you suggested, but didn't want to do that for all 593 songs in my library. Now I have two other questions, one relating to music management and one not.
1. All my music transfered, but none of my playlists did. How do I get all my playlists to transfer as well?
2. When I set up my phone I think it set up a new account or something. When I tried to purchase an app, it said that I had to verify my payment method, but I've never had to do that before. I have some credit on the account that I've been using, how do I get that to transfer over so I can purchase from both devices? Also, relating to this, I created a wish list in ITunes on the computer. How do I access this from the phone?

Computer destroyed .. how to get purchases onto new computer
I'm pretty much computer illiterate except for surfing the internet and using Word.
I purchased several songs from itunes onto a computer which was destroyed (fire). I have a new computer (Latitude with Windows XP) and although I see all my old purchases listed when i look up my account, I don't know how to get them onto my new computer.

This is the second time I have updated to a newer version of Itunes and when complete the only music i have access to is the purchased music.I loaded several hundred songs to my former computer. It got wet and I lost entire hard drive, nothing was recoverable. Fortunately i have all music and pictures on my IPad, do not know how to get music I did not purchase from Itunes onto Itunes on my new Mac. This is my second MAc in less than 3 years due to my accident.
You only get one download of rentals (in the US you can re-download some films, but I'm not sure whether that applies to rentals). If the film is on yoru computer's iTunes, then connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of iTunes under 'Devices', and the use the Films/Movies tab on the right-hand side to sync the film to the iPad.

If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time. -
Alright, my old PC completely crashed, with my iTunes and everything on it. I've got my iPod mini now (with my Mac) but the problem is I have no clue how to get all my songs from my iPod onto my computer. I don't want to have to load all of the songs from my CDs and rebuy them from Apple again... and I don't know if I'll be able to access my old PC again. Is there anyway to get my iPod mini songs onto the Mac?

All the music in itunes has a little footprint beside it. My old phone - 3GS has all my music there and playing fine. But if I try to synch with itunes it says it will synch from itunes to iphone and so am worried I will lose all my music from iphone too. New iphone has synched fine in every other way - contacts apps etc. But no music! I would be grateful if anyone has any tips to get my music back into itunes. - I had previously backed it all up on a mobile hard drive but can't find the option to import all my music from there ..it was a while ago so won't be evverything. None of my music is bought via itunes. It's all just my old CDs - still catching up! Thanks in anticipation of your help. N
Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

Easiest way is to copy the iTunes folder (NOT the iTunes Music folder, the one above that) from your old computer to the new computer.
Yamipod (3rd party software, free) will copy your music from yoru iPod to your computer but not playlists.
I believe TransCopy will transfer music and playlists but it is not free. -
How do I get entire library onto new computer without old ipod (stolen) or old computer (died)? I just bought an ipod 5th gen and when I plugged it in, it only synced purchases.
You restore the media to your new computer using the backup you made of your old computer before it died. You did backup your computer, right?

If the music is in your music file or on an external hard drive (windows) then, on iTunes, go to file>add to library and then choose what you want to add. Then sync music to your iPhone and your done.

Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.

I always get my ringtones using the iTunes app on my iPhone. When I download them they are immediately available.
