How to get mail with Proxy in Mountain Lion?

my company is using network proxy server to connection internet.
but i was found the proxy setting is't work on Mail application, the mail application always saying connected server(04-imap.mail.me.com) is timeout.
when i got home, and switched into direct connect without proxy, that mail service was fine.
BTW,i'm pretty sure the company proxy server was fine, because my safari and other network applications is work well when i was using same network condition with mail application can't. the proxy setting is using a Pac file to making its working.

Actually this seems to be on-going problem that is not being addressed by Apple.
The scuttlebut on the Forums is the fact that Apple specific programs and apple specific adressess do not obey PROXY instructions even if set in the Advanced Network settings. Therefore it does not matter what our Network Administrators do the proxy will not be found.
Hence in Mail, my exchange setup works fine (though need to use DavMail as well), My iCloud apple account dismal failure behind the proxy.
There are a number of programs that have been suggested to help MacProxy and Proxify for example.
However, I have found these confusing to use and slove one problem but cuase another for example, with Proxify managed to get BOTH email accounts working, but lost Safari etc etc.
Have never managed to get messenger to work.
I would be enternally greatful if someone with network knowledge could step us through the use of these Proxy directing programs to overcome this "behind a proxy" problem.

Open up Java Preferences and it will offer to download and install Java for you.
Otherwise you can open up a Terminal and type:
java -version
Which will do the same thing.

Did you try rebuilding the library's database file as follows: make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I agree with Grant Bennet-Alder, what you see here "are only a handful" of users who are having problems big or small with Mountain Lion.
I for one have a smooth upgrade for both my iMac and MacBook air, and I think whoever were running Lion should have a smoother upgrade becasue Lion and Mountain Lion are very similar and they probably share a lot of the same codes, as compared to older OS.
It may be too late to say here, but whenever you perform a major OS upgrade, and like all mac websites have recommended, you always
1. Perform all the OS and software updates
2. Back up
You would also find out, especially if yours is a daily working computer, that your major running software is compatible with the new OS.
Like for me, I run Adobe Creative Suite, and have major apps like Norton Internet Security, Maintain Cocktail, SuperDuper, CandyBar, DockStar and Attachment Tamer running, so I make sure they are all compatible with Mountain Lion before I hit install.
As for your problem, maybe you can start a new discussion and detail as much as possible, your mac's problems, what 3rd party apps etc you have that you think might affect it, and screen shots - It's a wonderful thing now that this forum allows us to post screen shots!

How do I configure OS X Server (Mountain Lion) to deliver mail from another domain to my mailbox?
I run a personal Server at my office. It's configured under my own domain as server.mydomain.com. It's setup that it properly receives and sends e-mail for mydomain.com. I use my own mailbox [email protected] to get all my personal mail.
I'm looking to add another domain as a secondary way for people to get to my content and information.
I want the same address [email protected] and [email protected] to arrive in the same mailbox at my server.
How do i do that?

it does look like you can add virtual domains in the GUI of Server.app on at least some versions, but I don't have an OS X Server 10.8 version handy to check.
I'd encourage spending some time to learn the command line. In general, the payoff for learning the command line will be worth the effort expended. You're running a mail server here and sooner or later the capabilities of the GUI will fail you. This whether due to a configuration omission in the GUI itself, or due to the need to troubleshoot a malfunctioning mail server, a need to automate one or more of the Postfix-related sequences, or some other IT-related task. Entirely FWIW, of course.
Here's a cut-and-paste of the sequence just used to test the command line access to the Postfix configuration, first fetching the current value, appending example.com as the second domain, then displaying the new value, then restarting the Postfix server. Don't enter the dollar signs; just the postconf command and following. Adjust example.com to match your domain...
$ postconf mydestination
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost
$ sudo postconf -e 'mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, example.com'
Password: {your admin password here}
$ postconf mydestination
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, example.com
$ sudo postfix reload
The Postfix and Postconf commands work irrespective of the OS X Server version; the tools reference the data files as needed.

You can't. Microsoft have not added support for the industry standard sync protocols iCloud uses.

Hi, i am having the same problem. this is what i have noticed.
I have 2 x imac's and 2 x macbook air's
i upgraded the 2 macbook air's and 1 of the imac's to Mountain Lion, all these have problems acessing sites that require you to login .
the one remaining imac is still running lion and works perfect.
i am using a dlink router with DD-WRT firmware, i tested teathering from my iphone and i can log into websites fine using the newly upgraded mac's.
It's not a wireless issue as my imac is using an ethernet connection.
is there a compatibility issue with some routers.
