  • How to get the server port and id from the Initialcontext

    hi
    i know that i can get the server port and id where the jndi service is listening from the InitialContext ( when i create InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(); from within a EJB. ). Does this work on any application server and where (at what position is for example the port) in the Enumeration at the ic are the different things put?

    I would usually just get the PROVIDER_URL property from the InitialContext and use that to determine the location of the naming service:
    String providerURL = (String)ic.getEnvironment().get(Context.PROVIDER_URL);You'll then need to parse that string to obtain the port and the server name. For example:
    // Assume that the provider URL is of form "protocol://server:port"
    int serverStartIndex = providerURL.indexOf("://" + 3);
    int serverEndIndex = providerURL.indexOf(:, serverStartIndex);
    String server = providerURL.substring(serverStartIndex, serverEndIndex);
    String port = providerURL.substring(serverEndIndex + 1);It's a fairly universal approach but there'll doubtlessly be some special cases (for example, the provider URL could be null and the InitialContextFactory class defaults it).
    You might have to adjust the server/port parsing stuff a bit as I just made that up and your URL might not conform to the pattern I described.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I correlate an Java instance number with a server id?

    I have 6 Web App Server running ABAP and the JAVA stacks. I can log into the Central Instance server and run /usr/sap/<SID>DVEBMSG00/j2ee/configtool/configtool.sh and bring up the GUI interface to "see" all the instances and their variables. I don't see an easy way to trace back the Java INSTANCE to the physical server's hostname.
    Is there a central repository to correlate a Web App Server Java instance number to the actual hostid/hostname of the target server? I realize I can log into each Web App Server and look at the /usr/sap/<SID>D00/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties and find the Instance number, but I was wondering if this information was held in the SAP Central instance or SAP Database somewhere.

    Hi Timothy,
    The instance ID used for the JAVA cluster is generated at installation time, and -amongst other things- takes into account the time it was generated. We installed two instances in parallel (on different hosts) and ended up with almost the same instance ID.
    Because this can be very confusing, we asked SAP if this was changable - in theory it is only an ID which could be changed as long as it is updated on all places the identifier is stored - but SAP indicated that that is not possible, nor supported. We ended up with a diagram of the system architecture with all the identifiers on our desk.
    Note that in the config tool - all instances are displayed with their system instance number. If you were to install a new system it might be usefull to install all instances with different instance numbers so you and distinguish more easily between them.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Walter

  • How to get Windows Server 2012 trial license key?

    How to get Windows Server 2012 trial license key? I'm trying to install WinServer 2012 Trial on a VMWare Workstation 9. I'm asked for the product key during set up. If I ignore putting in the key (since I don't have one) The install fails stating no valid
    key. I tried this with Oracle's Virtual Box and the same thing happens. I tried using Majic JellyBean to find the key, but that only works on pre-installed OS. A Technet article said to use aaaa-bbbbb-ccccc-ddddd etc. in the spaces. That doesn't work either.
    Articles all over the web seem to have other people in the same boat. Please help :)

    Download the trial version from here -
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/evaluate/trial-software.aspx  It does not require a key.  If the software is asking for a key, it is not the trial copy.  Where did you get your copy?

  • Anyone have trouble getting verizon to port a number?

    We are going on a month now trying to get verizon to port a number from cox cable.
    When called they said they have it all under control and will be done by a certain date.  When that date arrives we get the same email..
    "Thank you for recently placing an order with Verizon. Unfortunately, we need additional information to process your order. To avoid any service delays, please contact Verizon as soon as possible and reference order #"
    I don't understand what advantage it is to them to give customers the runaround and tick them off.  What are they trying to accomplish?
    And one other odd thing, everytime we ask them what the status of the "number port" is, they reply, oh you mean the "winback".  What the blue blazes is a "winback"?   And they want to argue with us that it is not called a port and is instead called winback.    Funny,  every other phone vendor calls it a "port".    go figure!
    The winback certainly isn't living up to it name.   They are about to win me right over to time warner.
    I'm sure TWC will be just a dumb, but they are a lot cheaper.
    Verizon, Wake up!   You have one more chance to get this right before I file the complaint with the FCC.
    Here's the link for anyone else in the same boat.
    https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us

    Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other customers here.  If you want to get a message to Verizon you need to call or chat with them.
    I recently help a family member port a number out of Verizon to a VoIP provider (a "loose away," perhaps?).  Verizon was horrendous to deal with refusing to release a never agreed to port freeze even after many orders were placed and promises made.  An FCC complaint is what finally sped things along.  I wouldn't wait to file one.
    Good Luck.

  • How to get the Next Material Document Number

    Hi,
    Please let me know How to get the next Material Document Number using Functional Module,
    Material Document number are  in MSEG table.
    Regards,
    Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
    if you want the next matrial number then first of all you have to define it as a number range in transaction snro.After creating the number range you have to define the interval.
    now you can use your number range by calling the function module
    CALL FUNCTION 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT'
          EXPORTING
            nr_range_nr             = '01' " here you have to give the number range number which you have defined in number range
            object                  = 'ZPRODLOG' " Number Range
          IMPORTING
            number                  = wa_prod_error_log-seqnr " sequence number generated,in your case material number field
          EXCEPTIONS
            interval_not_found      = 1
            number_range_not_intern = 2
            object_not_found        = 3
            quantity_is_0           = 4
            quantity_is_not_1       = 5
            interval_overflow       = 6
            buffer_overflow         = 7
            OTHERS                  = 8.
    each and every time next number will get generated .
    i hope this will help you.

  • SDK : how to get the server adress and port ?

    Almost everything is in the title, I'm look for code to get the server URL and port where the ME is running ;o)
    There should be some standard API I guess.
    Thanks
    Regards

    Hi,
    In the code that I write I usually have access to the HTTP Request Object.
    String serverName = request.getServerName();
    String serverPort = request.getServerPort();
    Then I just do a compare on the returned value to see if I am on our Test or Production server.
    if(request.getServerName().indexOf("prodservername") >= 0)
      // PRODUCTION CODE HERE
    else
      // TEST CODE HERE
    Hope this helps,

  • How to get the WD port number of the actual system?

    Hello everybody,
    In my application I'm calling a Sap Gui transaction through an ITS WebGUI link that is generated dynamically by an action method. Works find so far.
    However, as the code has to run on various systems (development, test, production) I also have to generate the system and port name dynamically. System name is no problem, but how can I get the WD port of the actual system? Is there any method or variable for that? Couldn' find anything so far...
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello,
    As Thomas mentioned, you have to use the utility class to construct the URL for any application.
    you have two options here
    Option 1 -> Prefix your generated WebGUI link with '/' and pass it to the method CL_URL->HOST in the URL parameter. this method will prefix the corresponding http:<host>:port to the passed in URL.
    Option 2 -> you can directly use the method CL_URL->ITS to generate your entire web GUI link.

    In JSFUtils there is a getPageURL method. it will give the whole URL of your page. you can play with the URL string to get the part you need.
       * Method to create a redirect URL. The assumption is that the JSF servlet mapping is

        newUrlBuffer.append(url.substring(0, url.lastIndexOf("faces/")));
