How to get Mountain Lion's new features for China?

I downloaded and installed OS X Mountain Lion from the USA app store, and could not find its claimed new features for China. Does that mean if I want to have those 'new features for China' I have to buy the software from China app store? Any other solutions other than double pay for it in RMB again?

I have the Chinese input method installed in system prefs/language & Text/input methods and have used it before to enter chinese texts in MS World or Mail. Now under Mountain Lion I see no difference in regard to improved text input. Neither do find the definition dictionary, the dynamic word list, the lookup function. Can you elaborate on how to use the new features for China under Mountain Lion. Thank you.

I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion.  Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine.  Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer.  I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs.  Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it.  Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X
    Revert to Snow Leopard
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

  • I do not have a high speed internet connection. How can I get Mountain Lion on a disk for install?

I do not have a high speed internet connection. How can I get Mountain Lion on a disk for install on my 24" Imac?

As long as you use your Apple ID to purchase it, I don't see why they wouldn't let you download the installer on one of their Macs and put it on a pocket drive.
Or, a friend with a high speed connection?
I agree with you about the delivery method, just trying to help you get what you want.

  • How to get Mountain Lion Spotlight to find text in CSV files?

Does anyone know how to get Mountain Lion Spotlight to find text in CSV Files? Spotlight worked flawlessly with Snow Leopard on my last MAC but with Mountain Lion it doesn't recognize CSV Files. I have researched this extensively and haven't found any solution but I really believe there must be many others who have the same problem. I even contacted Apple's Genius Bar which was of no help whatsoever, they couldn't even tell me why Spotlight wasn't finding text in CSV Files, i.e., function dropped by Apple, bug, etc.
Thru research I found that if the CSV Files are converted to 'Plain Text Files' Spotlight will find text inside of the files but I typically save my spreadsheets as CSV Files and don't want to have to convert them to Plain Text Files just so Spotlight will search them.
I appreciate any help you can give.
    Joel

I should have mentioned earlier that I do NOT have any exclusions set under the Spotlight Privacy tab, however, I did move one of the folders that contains CSV Files in then back out of the Privacy tab to try and get Spotlight to index the folder, but to no avail.
I have a second Admin account and tried to find text in CSV Files while in that account, again to no avail. I also tried upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.4 to see if it might fix the problem, but no soap.
Below is a screenshot of the Systems Preferences/Library/Spotlight/RichText.mdimporter/ file and I don't even see where Spotlight is setup to find CSV Files on my computer, very confusing but thanks again for your input.

  • If I buy OSX Lion now can I get Mountain Lion later next month for free?

    Any idea?

    Only on a new Mac.
In simple terms, you either need:
A qualifying 10.7 Mac purchased on June 11, 2012 to 10.8's release date, then you have 30 days afterwards to upgrade to 10.8 for free.
Bought a qualifying new 10.7 Mac on or after the 10.8 release date which you then have 30 days to request a free 10.8 upgrade.

  • Where are the all-new features for China?

    Hello.
I just upgraded from 10.7 to 10.8 and while going through the feature list I wanted to look more closely at the all-new features for China. However, it looks like most them are not there.
OS X Mountain Lion brings all-new support for many popular Chinese features and services. The dictionary app now includes the Standard Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese. Improved text input makes typing in Chinese easier, faster, and more accurate. With eight new fonts, your writing can appear formal, informal, or fun. Mail works with QQ, 163, and 126. Baidu, the leading Chinese search provider, is a built-in option in Safari. Now you can post to the web right from the app you’re in. Post videos with Youku and Tudou. Post to Sina Weibo, the popular microblogging service. And share easier than ever. All these new services are easy to set up on your Mac.
I've not been able to find anything about the new services that OS X integrates with. For example, in Safari I can only choose between Google, Yahoo and Bing. In QuickTime Player I can only upload to YouTube and Vimeo, and the only microblogging service I can add is Twitter.

I forgot, yes, you can you can always add an account for a specific service in the Messages, Calendars & Contacts Preferences pane.

  • How to get Mountain Lion on my older SSD?

    Hi,
Just got my new MBP with Mountain Lion with a HDD where Mountain Lion was pre-installed.
But... I put my old SSD (with Lion) into the MBP because I got all data there. But I still want to be able to update to Mountain Lion.
Anyone knows how I can get a hold of Mountain Lion license to put on my old SSD drive?

    Thanks' for the answer.
What I did with the new computer was first to start it up, then logged in with my Apple ID to make sure this was registered before switching HD to my old one. Then I thought I would be elegible to download ML from the App store afterwards.
    But no.....

  • How to install Mountain Lion on New Macbook Pro from APPS

How can I install Mountain Lion into a VM on a New Macbook Pro running YOSEMITE  from APPS
I have it in my apps purchased but It tells me the system is to New to download/run it
I have tried mounting my install ESD copy but it has the same Problem
    I don't have another Mac
    Thanks

I think the problem is that you can't install an older OS X version onto a system running a newer OS X version. So I would try the following:
         1. have an external disk or create another partition on an internal drive to use for the Mountain Lion install (you might have to shrink an existing partition to make room for another)
         2. Create an external bootable USB thumb drive with the Mountain Lion OS on it (do a search on the web for this - for example see http://www.macworld.com/article/1167857/how_to_make_a_bootable_mountain_lion_ins tall_drive.html
         3. Reboot Yosemite and then boot from the USB thumb drive by holding down the option key
         4. run the mountain lion installer and install on the new disk/partition you created in step 1 - it will also create another recovery partition from this same part of the disk
Now your Mac system will have both a Mountain Lion install as well as the Yosemite install. You won't be able to use Migration Assistant to move things from Yosemite to Mountain Lion because it will see that you're "going backwards" and won't allow you to.
Have a good backup of everything before starting in case there are problems.
    Good luck...

  • How to get Mountain Lion after disk is deleted

I've deleted my hard disc in DU after pressing cmd+R. Then I tried to reinstall my Lion, but it didn´t work. I then restarted the computer and the computer search the internet for a while ending up that I could only install Mountain Lion. The problem is that it does not allow me to install it as I haven´t purchased it. And I can´t go back to install Lion. I've tried to purchase Mountain Lion from another computer so my Apple ID would be identified as I've purchased it. I´ve also tried to update via Safari from start up but it says it could not access mac adresses. My question: How can I buy Mountain Lion outside the actual computer that needs the installation.

It would help to know what type and age of computer it is, what OS it had originally and why you erased it.  Perhaps you had dallied with a beta of ML and now want to rationalise your system?
Lion and ML have different Recovery Partitions, so it is not possible to go from one to the other without doing a complete erase, of the recovery partitions as well,  from an external disk.
If you managed to purchase ML from MAS on the other computer, you can download a copy of the full 10.8.3 installer (4.4Gb) from the "Purchases" tab.  It will download to the Applications folder and then ask if you want to install it on that machine.  Make a copy of the Application and put it somewhere else. It will delete if allowed to run.
I'm not sure if you can just link two computers together and use one to do an erase install on the other, but some one will know.  Else, I would buy an external hard disk, link it to the other computer and install onto it.  Copy the full installer across too.
Now do an erase install on your own computer.  Afterward you can use this external disk as your backup, using Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) to keep it up-to-date.

  • How to get mountain lion to see ntfs drive

I am unable to mount a ntfs drive. tried several 3rd party applicatons but they do not work with 10.8.3

You should be able to read the hard drive in Mountain Lion, but you will not be able to write to the drive without 3rd party software like Paragon NTFS for Mac or NTFS-3G.
