How to get multiple midi inputs to stick to tracks and not translate

Hi.. i'm trying to get the following to work:
I have two midi devices.. One on channel 1 and one on channel 13. They are coming in via different ports.
I want to make it so Channel 1 only goes to the track for channel 1, and outputs on channel 1.. and channel 13 only goes to the track for channel 13 and outputs on channel 13..
instead, what i am getting is: if channel 1 track is selected, all input from channel 13 is translated to channel 1. i need channel 13 to stay on channel 13.
i'm new to logic and don't fully understand Environment, but havent been able to figure this out, and its critical for my use that the second keyboard always send through on its correct channel, even if i'm recording on another track. ideally i'd be able to arm both tracks and record with the inputs correctly separated and no translation..
can someone please help?

I ended up making a really complex MIDI patching mixer in the environment to solve this problem, but a simple solution exists:
1) Create a Multi-Intrument (Turn the Port: Off, make sure the box is Checked next to Icon and activate all Channels) in the environment layer that houses your Physical Input.
2) Wire the SUM of the Physical Input to the new Multi-Intrument
3a) Wire the Multi-Instrument to the Sequencer Input
3b) Wire the next node of the Multi Instrument to a Splitter
4) Wire corresponding channels to your object of choice (either a MIDI Instrument or Audio Instrument)
5) Goto you arrange and create tracks for the Multi-Instrument you made (just as you would for an outboard synth)
6) Goto your Recording Prefs (option + R, I think) and check 'Auto Demix by channel....'
7) Arm the Multi Instrument, and press record...
8) Play both keyboards and they multitrack record (FYI!!! When recording, make sure you have one of the MIDI tracks selected---during the recording, it will come in as one region, but once the recording is stopped it will demix them to the appropriate tracks)

    The Muvos are USB Mass Storage devices and do not have the ability to display track information based upon ID3 tags.
    The Zens all read and display track info based upon ID3 tag information that is either gathered from an online source or entered by the end-user.
    If you want the track information displayed instead of the ID3 tag information, you could edit the ID3 tags and rename the title to whatever you have as the file name. Not sure why your file names would differ so much from the ID3 tag info though, almost all of my content has the same name for the filename as it does on the ID3 tag title.

  • How to get EXTMUX to pulse only when taking samples, and not on LocalMUX Change? (E Series Board)

    I am using the 6031E series board. The EXTMUX is setup to pulse on each convert pulse. While taking data, I am getting a pulse on the EXTMUX for each sample taken, and a pulse for each time the 6031E switches its own internal mux. Is there anyway to only have the EXTMUX line pulse ONLY when a sample is taken, and not when the internal mux switches?

    If you are reading the DAQ-STC manual, the signal I am talking about is the EXTMUX. If you are reading the PCI E Series manuals, the signal I am talking about is called SCANCLK (just to make things easier to understand, I guess??). The EXTMUX is setup through the MITE, and will pulse after every convert signal. My problem is that it also pulses when the internal mux changes as well.
    So (for simplicity), if I wanted 2 channels, with 5 samples on each channel, and a mux outside the card on each line, the EXTMUX signal would sync the external hardware with the card/software.
    In theory I would expect 10 pulses on the EXTMUX/SCANCLK pin, but in reality I get 12 pulses. If I had 3 channels, 5 samples per channel, (Expected 15 pulses) I end up getting 18 pu
    lses in reality. This throws off any kind of sync to the outside world.

  • How to get bridge to point to PS CC 2014 and not to PS CS3 which I just uninstalled.

    I have PS CC 2014.  It has been functioning fine until today when I got the bright idea to clean up my collection of Photoshop versions (IN all my reading I have since found out that that can upset scripts or something mysterious like that.) Well, this seems to have happened to me.  I now try to open an image using Bridge and it gives me this message:  Windows cannot find C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS 3\ Photoshop.exe.  Try your address and make sure it is right or something like that.  i am now beyond my ability to manupulate Photoshop.  I went for help and found a place that had the same problem only they wanted me to go into something called:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\op en\command
    Might as well told me to walk to China barefoot!  I have NO idea what that is.  I searched my machine and nothing came up.  So, I tried within Bridge Preferences which looked promising....but I t allows me to choose Photoshop or Browse.  I can browse my computer but when I give it a file to open it says it cannot find it (or something equally mysterious)  So how do I change a preference and point it to CC 2014.  I attempted to reset all to defaults....but I received a scary warning that said this would be permanent and did I want to continue????  Heck no since I have no clue what it is talking about.
    I am totally a fish out of water with this and I am drowning.  I am using PHotoshop CC 2014 on a 64 bit Machine with Windows 7.
    I am truly pulling out my  hair and before I go bald, I hope there is some kind soul out there that can help me with this.  My Photoshop Program is my life blood and I miss it already!

    I am sorry about the blank message.  I only followed what was said in the email:  "To post a reply, either reply to this email or visit the message page: [https://forums.adobe.com/message/7314236#7314236]".  when I followed the link it gave me the thread with no way to post a reply.  I have come through following the link to the Adobe Community and then here.  That seems to have worked.  I do hope you will see this and accept my apologies for not knowing how to do this correctly.
    Before I came here I went to Help and then File Associations.  When I clicked Revert to Default settings I got a warning that what I was about to do was permanent.  I did not know what it meant by permanent.  I was afraid I would get worse problems than I have right now.  So....is it ok to permanently set to defaults?

    Am facing the same issue stated above that I couldnt get all the records in the table that am querying in the Proxyservice.
    For example:
    fn-bea:execute-sql('EsbDataSource', 'student', 'select Name from StudentList' ) is the query that am using to fetch the records from the table called StudentList which contains more than one records like
    Id Name
    01 XXX
    02 YYY
    03 ZZZ
    I tried to assign the result of the above query in a variable and while trying to log the variable, I can see the below
    <student>
    <Name>XXX</Name>
    </student>
    I want to have all the records from my table in xml format but it's not coming up. I get the value only from the first row of my table.
    Please suggest.

    I am trying to get the event for multiple key combinations, ie some thing like "*Ctrl + I + M*" or "*Alt + A + S + D*".
    For two key combinations ( like Ctrl+I or Ctrl+M) i am able to get, but for more than two keys combinations, can someone give an idea how to get it.
    I tried with both KeyCodeCombination and KeyCharacterCombination.

  • Multiple MIDI Inputs Yet???

    Can anyone tell me if LP8 offers multiple MIDI inputs? I use the step sequencer from my Elektron Monomachine for pattern creation and would like to be able to assign the external tracks from it to instrument tracks hosting either native or 3rd party plug-ins. Untill I can assign MIDI to Logic Instruments and third party AU Instruments from multiple channels, I am forced to use another app (Ableton Live at present) for song creation and only use logic for post production of said track. Would much rather keep it all in one app from creation to stage performance!!!

    I have found an answer to my problem. In the following link I found this post that allowed me to play multiple instruments from an external step sequencer. I have been trying to figure this one out for ever and just kept giving up with the environment. Now I can finally use logic the way I always wanted to!!!

    Here is the post...replace "MIDI Keyboard" with "Sequencer Track" and you can see how this worked for me...
    This method assumes that One MIDI Keyboard is sending on MIDI channel 1 and the other is sending on MIDI channel 2.
    In the Environment, go to the "Clicks and Ports" Layer. My MIDI "signal" path is:
    Physical Input-->Input Note (a keyboard)-->Input View (Monitor Object)-->
    "to Recording and Thru"
    (See p. 207 of the LPReference for more on the "The MIDI Signal Path")
    What I would suggest is this:
    Create a "Channel Splitter" object from the "New" menu. Then cable the MIDI output of the Input Note (the Keyboard object) to the Channel Splitter. This is a second MIDI output cable from the Keyboard, make sure the keyboard object remains connected to the Input View (monitor object).
    Now create two "Alias" objects. In the Alias' Parameters box, set the "Reference" box to the Audio Instrument you want to hear when you play the MIDI channel 1 keyboard. (There are other ways to do this without alias objects as well.)
    Now cable the MIDI channel 1 output of the Channel Splitter (second from the top) to the Alias of Audio Instrument (the one to be heard when playing the Keyboard on MIDI channel 1).
    Create a second Alias, set its Reference to the second Audio Instrument and cable the Channel Splitter's MIDI channel 2 output to the Alias.
    Now go the Arrange. Create a new track and Assign its output (click-hold on the name of the track) and select the "Input Notes" object (mine was under the "Clicks and Ports" submenu). Now when you've got the Input Notes track selected in the Arrange, the MIDI notes will be sent to the Audio Instruments based on MIDI Channel. You can record the notes on the Input Notes track. Later, you can "Demix" the notes and put the Demixed regions onto the tracks of the appropriate Audio Instrument.

    For now I am using only one port on my AMT8 for input, the next step will be to try multiple port / multiple sequencer input scheme and see how that setup works...

    1. MBPro with Yamaha E403keyboard -- GB11 records notes played with piano function but does not record background drumbeat from keyboard. Suggestions to get the background also? (Have already installed latest midi driver from Yamaha.)
    2. If I acquire an external Mic can GB accept input from it at the same time as the keyboard? (Have multiple USB inputs available on MBPro.)
    3. Any feedback on the CAD U1 Mic? Amazon has it at attractive price for a total novice.

    i don't think i've seen anyone post about using that, but it'll probably work good enough if you're not looking for pro quality.

    if its anything like my Sony, theres a button top left corner that upon each press i get an audible bleep and the AV inputs come up on screen, i then cycle down to whichever input i wish to select!
    in case your remote is different, the button on my remote has a square with a slightly smaller square just overlapping the first square.

    Plug the stick and/or card into the appropriate slots on the side of your Air. Do you see icons for the devices appear on the desktop? Click into them to see what files are there.

    I've connected an M-Audio Midisport 4X4 to my powerbook G4 and am trying to control the synths in Reason Adapted at the same time as a synth in Garageband, in order to play them together.
    Does anyone know how to select the midi input in Garageband? At the moment it only acknowledges that there are 4 inputs and all controllers set off the synths...Reason is fine, you can select which midi input you want...I have Garageband 2...does version 3 have this option or have I overlooked something in 2?

    Click File >> Open and select all of your photos
    That will add them to the project bin
    Then select File >> New >> Blank File
    Select background color White (or whatever you prefer) and add your width and height for your final image (set resolution 72 for web usage or 240 to 300 for printing) then click OK
    In the project bin click your first photo and drag it up into the main window on top of your new background.
    Click on the move tool and click in the center of the photo and drag to arrange it where you want on the background - you can hold down the shift key to maintain original proportions whilst dragging the corner handles of the bounding box to get the size you want.
    Do the same with the next photo (drag it up into the main window) and use the move tool to position it. Then continue with each image.
    Finally Click Layer >>Flatten image and save as jpeg. (Save as PSD if you want to preserve the layers for editing again)
    N.B. as you add images they get dropped in the center. So you need to use the move tool to drag them apart. Click in the middle of one and move it around, and then the others until you get them positioned as you want.
    When you click again with the move tool a bounding box appears around the image and you can drag out the corner handles to re-size your photos. Hold down the shift key when dragging the corner handle and that will maintain the proportions of the original.
    Finally click Layer >>Flatten Image and save your collage - you may then want to use the crop tool to cut away any surplus white canvas, and then re-save. Click the T tool to add text.

    You could make it more pleasant if you would play a different sound file based on the comparison. (look in the windows\media folder for the sounds used by the OS. Try e.g. c:\windows\media\tada.wav)
