How to get music from the iPod to my computer?
Is it possible to get the music from an ipod and put it on your computer? Because i would like to switch all my music from my ipod to my new computer, and i got rid of all the original music.
Hello karakamikaze,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

How to copy music from the iPod to iTunes ??
Hello,
I use iTunes since some months and have bought several songs at iTunes. Now I also bought an iPod and copied the music from iTunes to my iPod.
Because my harddisk was almost full I deleted most songs in my iTunes directory because I thought it is possible to copy music from the iPod to iTunes ... i.e. I thought that the music on my iPod is like a backup.
But now I it seems impossible to copy music back to my computer. Are all those sond lost ?
Dear experts: Is there any possibility to get my music back to my computer ?
I hope someone can help.
Regards
MichaelYou can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve individual music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

The transfer of purchased content to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7, look under under File>"Transfer Purchases from iPod". A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer -

How to trans music from my ipod to my computer
how to trans music from my ipod to my computer
If it's a big fat iPod Classic, with a spinning hard drive inside, you can mount it and copy and paste as you would any other USB hard drive. If it's any other kind of iPod, you can't.

So I just got a new laptop,
I downloaded iTunes
I Authorized the computer and all that,
I transported my purchases from my account and all went well,
But I just want to know if it's possible to take the music from my iPod Touch 4 and put in on the laptops iTunes library?
I have a Windows laptop
The songs that I have on the iPod aren't from the iTunes Store and I've been looking for ways to try different things but nothing is working
I don't even care if the steps are complicated or if it will takes a couple days or if I have to download the songs one at a time, I just NEED to figure this outSee Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
If you want free try MediaMonkey to extract the media and the two scripts near the end to recover ratings and playlists.
For the future see Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy.

Trying to figure out to transfer music to computer to add to the existing libary without erasing the music on the ipod.
You can transfer music from iPod to computer by these steps:
Open iTunes on your old computer.
Connect your iPod to your old computer and wait for it to appear in iTunes.
Select your iPod on the left side of the iTunes window under the Devices section to display your iPod preferences.
Click the Summary tab in the main iTunes window.
Select the "Manually manage music" checkbox. This will also select Enable disk use.
If the above steps does not work, you can try some 3rd party apps like iPod Transfer. -
Is there a way to get music from an iPod to a computer?
Most of my music is on my home computer, and everything is fine. I bought a laptop, and installed the software on it, as well. I went to see a relative, and she put a bunch of songs on my iPod from her computer. That is all fine, and dandy, but they are very disorganized. I would like to sort them out, under a folder with her name on it. Furthermore, she swears up and down, that it can work as a portable hard drive, and I should be able to import the music she put on there, onto my computer.
I can see the music she put on there, in iTunes, under my iPod icon, but it won't let me do anything to it, other than rename the songs. It won't let me drag the files into a playlist, or anything.
Under the iPod settings, i have it set to manually update, which should allow me to select which songs I want to import, but then it 'grays out' the "enable disk use" checkbox underneath. When I go to set it back to automatic, it tells me that it will replace everything on my iPod with whatever I have in my library---Essentially wiping out all of the songs she put on there.
I just want to be able to have my iPod, laptop, and Computer synced. What can I do?That is the way the iTunes/iPod system is supposed to
work. We suspect that it was developed to prevent
illegal 'sharing' of copyrighted music across PCs and
separate users.
You may not get many (if any) other responses to this
question. If you are asking us for
assistance in how to share copyrighted
music, please understand that we cannot help.
Unfortunately, the Apple Discussions ‘Terms
of Use’ for these Forums explicitly prohibit
anyone here from encouraging, or directly
facilitating the 'sharing’ of copyrighted music as
you describe.
The music industry and Apple considers it 'stealing'
and we or you can get our posts locked, removed, or
be given a temporary or permanent vacation. Sorry.
yes, that is what I originally heard, and understood. I tried to tell her that, but she swears it can be done. We are both into music production, and much of the music she put on there is her own. I tried to get some of MY stuff into her computer, but was unable to. Even non-copyrighted material cannot be shared. Not even family photos?
Let's assume that I cannot get the music, (even her original stuff that, obviously, I have permissions for), from my iPod, inot either of my computers. Is there even a way to organize the files she put in there? I would really like to put it into a separate folder, or playlist. Surely, there must be a way to organize the music, without exporting it? -
How to transfer music from an Ipod to a computer
I bought a brand new computer after my last one quit working altogether. I have over 250 songs on my iPod that were not purchased on Itunes, and I need to transfer them to my new computer. Is there a way to transfer music that was uploaded from CDs?

How to tranfert music from an ipod to my computer?
I want to transfert songs from my friend's ipod to my computer's itune. He is jut visiting me so it's a little be urgent. I'll be glad if somebody could help me
Thanks for your considerationYou can't do this unless there are purchased songs on the iPod not on your computer. And you must have authorization into the purchased songs. It's like this in order to discourage music piracy if I'm not mistaken.
