How do I get the print option on my pc that lets me choose color or black and white in Windows?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you would like the options to change from color printing to black and white on your HP Photosmart 7525. I would like you to follow the steps listed below on your computer:
1. Go to your Start Menu
2. Select Devices & Printers
3. Right click on your PS 7525 and select Printing Preferences
4. Click on the Advanced Options
5. Here under Printer Features, you will have the option to Print in Grayscale, Black Ink Only or Off (which would default to color printing)

From the application used to print open the print dialog.
Click Properties / Preferences / Settings to access the Printing Preferences dialog.
Click the Advanced button.
Under Printing Features set the Print in Grayscale value as Black Ink Only.

Photosmart b110a only prints in black and white

Hi i've got a photosmart b110a which copies and scans in colour, but will only print out from my imac in black and white.
Does anyone have the same problem and hopefully the answer

I tried to understand why my B110a was printing Black and White. I just solved the problem which is driver related(in my case).
If you are on a Mac do this:
1. Download the last drivers from the HP website for your printer;
2. Install them normally;
3. Go in System Preferences > Print & Fax;
4. There should be your printer listed on the left side of the window, double click it;
5. Another window should open, select Printer Setup at the top right;
6. Now select Driver on the top;
7. In 'Print Using:' select: 'HP Photosmart B110 Series'.
That was the problem for me, even though the driver were installed they weren't selected - I know it's silly.
Hope that solve your problem, otherwise I'm not be able to help you further.
If you use any Windows or Linux platform I won't be able to help at all as I don't know how could I set that - if is that the case - on those platforms.

How can i make my officejet 6500a print in black and white only?

I just bought an officejet 6500a and I can't figure out how to make it print in black in white only. I print a lot of stuff that doesn't need color and want to save my ink. On some prints it gives me that option when I print. but for the most part it doesn't allow me to change to black and white on things i am printing off the web

Pages 30-34 of the user manual for the Officejet 6500A covers how to change print preferences for the printer with both Mac and Windows. It covers documents, brochures and photos and covers finding the gray scale option. Here is a link to that manual http://goo.gl/6J61R .

Check the printer itself. Some printers you need to set the color & B&W settings on the printer itself instead of the Mac. If that is not the case w/your printer, contact HP tech support and/or post in their forums if they have one.

Cannot find a place to select print in black and white only on my HP Photosmart 6520 printer.
It prints color just fine, but sometimes I do not want to use my color cartridges. I selected B&W instead of gray scale, but cannot stop the color printing.

Please try (for Windows):
Double click printer icon on desktop,
Clich Set Preferences
Click Advanced
Under Grayscale, select Black ink only
Click Ok/Apply ..
Please note: the printer still need color inks during warming up process.

I have a photosmart 7520. I want to print a black and white tekst-formular, but since there's no ink left in the photo cartridge I can't print any thing. Is it not possible to print only black and white stuff, whith this printer?

Hi Jeeeez,
I understand you have a Photosmart 7520 that you're wondering if you can print with when one of the colors is out. I will certainly do my best to address you question!
Unfortunately this printer requires all of the ink cartridges have something in them whether you are trying to use that particular cartridge or not. This is simply for the health of the printhead, because if it dries out then nothing will print at all, new ink or not. Once you have all of the inks with something in them inserted in the printer you can set it to print in Black Ink Only from the computer as well for future use.
If you'd like to know how to set the printer to print using Black Ink Only from the computer, please let me know which version of Mac or Windows that you're using and I will get back to you with instructions.

At this time there is not an option or a default to set black and white only from the front panel of the printer. Some applications may give you settings in the Application itself for color or black and white but that would be the only place to change the color of the document/photo for your print jobs.

You can get this accomplished within most word/printing applications or preferences by selecting 'Greyscale' printing or black and white only.

How do i Drag and Drop print in black and white?

I really like the drag and drop printing feature where i just drag several files to the printer icon in the doc and they print with out opening the file. My only problem is that i can't get them to print in black and white, or choose any other features for that matter. it is printing in color, which is the printer's default. Does any one know how to print in black and white with the drag and drop feature. i have set the printer to black and white for a single document, then tried to drag and drop, but it still does it in color only. i am using pdf's by the way, but it happens with jpegs as well.

You should create another printer queue for the printer and choose an appropriate name for the queue. You can then put the printer in the Dock. Now use the web interface to the printing system <http://127.0.0.1:631/printers>. Locate your new printer and click on the "Configure" button. You will need to authenticate yourself using the short user name and password of an administrator's account. You will then be able to set the defaults for that printer. Click "Continue" when you are done.
You can now drag and drop those files you want printed to the appropriate printer icon in the Dock.
Note: This does not work for every printer. There are some manufacturer's drivers that do not put these options in the printer's PPD. They generate them on the fly when you call the print window.

What operating system/device are you printing from? If it's a windows setup, there sould be a b/w settting within the print options menu similar to the option below.
