How to get names in the phonebook transferred to Car device?

Hi,
I am using BB 8900 and Fiat Linea car with Blue & Me technology. After copying the phone book from the BB hand held to the car device, the car phone book only displays the numbers without names, which is practically useless. Because of this, I am unable to utilize the expensive feature in my car to the full, though I can receive calls and dial from the handheld and then continue conversation through car device. My another handheld Nokia model, costing 1/4th of BB 8900 works perfectly well with the car device. Kindly help with information on how to get the names in the address book of BB handheld transferred to the car device. Thanks and Regards - Ram Bhat

Hi, I did not get help but I succeeded in transferring the names in the address book of my BlackBerry. I am sharing how I did it for the benefite of others -
1. The automatic pairing by blue & me does not transfer the names!!
2. Keep your BlackBerry (BB) unlocked, blue tooth paired with device.
3. Press 'Phone' sign on the sterring wheel to activate menu.
4. Scroll using the up/down arrows on the steering wheel for 'Settings'
5. Select settings by pressing the 'Phone' sign.
6. Scroll for 'User data' and select by pressing 'Phone' sign
7.Scroll for 'Add contacts' and select by pressing 'Phone sign'
8. After hearing the voice message from the car audio do seetings on BB as below
9. Go to 'Manage Connections' -> 'Set up Blue Tooth' - > 'Cancel' This Leaves 'Blue tooth' menu with "Blue & Me" on the screen.
10. Click 'Menu' button and click on 'Transfer Contacts'
11. The BB shall transfer 300+ numbers within a minute ans give a message of completion of transfer.
12. Look at the car display, it shows the numbers being added, trailing the completion of transfer completion from BB
13. Within less than 2 minutes, the address book in the car device is updated and you have all the names in the phone book of the car now.
Enjoy but keep the usage of the calling from car to safety limits.

Hi Gurus,
I was wondering if we could get the name of the slicer added in IR Query section, via script ??
That is, I have a bqy connecting to Essbase OLAP.
Now I am adding a slicer in OLAP Section via script.
For Ex : ActiveDocument.Sections["Query2"].Slicers.Add('Market.Gen3,Market' , 'Market.LA')
Now,for some reason, I wanted to retrieve the name of the slicer I added and assign it to a variable. Is this possible ?? I couldn't see any option for this. Please help me out if any one has done this before ?

How to get names on the tunes

I had a 30gb ipod & installed into my laptop. About a year later I receaved a new 60gb and without running the 60gb intallation CD with it, I loaded the new ipod with the songs.
Now I have a new laptop and after trying to trasfer songs from the old laptop to new, I finally got frustureted and just copyed all the music from the old into CD,s and then installed them to my new laptop. The problem, I can not get tune names from itunes. Did I change format?

Unfortunately you almost certainly did. Getting track information from Gracenote depends on the track order and timing being exactly as they were on the original CD.

I looked at VBA behind the workbooks but could not find anything. Could not make the sheet invisible.

OK then, now v7sp03 for microsoft has hit the shelves, you can change the logo !!!
It is quite easy.
Have the logo file ready in either BMP, GIF or JPG format.
Put it in your "Server Install -> DataWebFolders[Appset]" folder (so where you keep your files).
In ApplicationSet parameters, add the parameter COMPANY_LOGO and in the options type the name of the file you just put on the server.
Now if you restart BPC for Excel, the second excel page that pops up should be showing your new logo or graphic (mine did).
The use of the logo has been documented in the admin manual -> working with appset parameters
Some tips.
I wanted not to clutter the filesystem so i put my logo in the appsetpublications folder and added the path accordingly in the parameter (so now it reads appsetpublicationslogoname.jpg instead of just logoname.jpg).
If you do not supply a name (only the parameter), your second Excel window (normally holding the graphic) will not appear. That could be an alternative too if you find that whole thing annoying.

Application uses a single Oracle User name to connect to database
where as at Application level there are different users (these are not database users)
Now how can we get the information about the user/his machine etc. at database level. earlier in 6i/8i we use to get by using
USERENV('TERMINAL')
we had written a triggers on tables on Insert/Update where we used to update a database field Last user terminal with USERENV('TERMINAL')
but not this information is comming to be the machine name of application server where as we wish this to be the machine name of Client. Any Way outs

getting value on Q0008-betrg field on the SCREEN , since it is table control how to get data on the table Control Cell .

The try to find the name of the table control and pass the values to it.
Of course you have to loop and endloop, the table control and mofidy it from the work area.

Sandeep is correct. The "Help"/"Record History" will give you the table/view name, but sometimes this particular menu function give me a "Record History is not available here." error message.
I then use the following menu functions (this will also give you additional information, like column details).
1) Open Forms
2) Click on Help/Diagnostics/Examine (*you might have to enter the APPS password at this point)
3) Change "Block" to "System"
4) Change "Field" to "Last_query"
The system will populate the "Value" field with the query that was executed in order to populate the form.

I Have the parameter objects themself and their types using method.getParameters() , this is fine ,, but i need the names of the parameters !!!

If the class file was compiled without debug information included then it is impossible to get the original parameter names, as used in the source code.
However, If the class file does include debug information, then the method names are hidden deep within the class file. You'd need to parse the class file yourself. Check out a copy of the Java VM Specification for a detailed format of the java class file format.
It's not a trivial task to parse the java class file, and the VM spec isn't easy reading. You'd nearly be writing a class file disassembler.

You can use the statement
READ REPORT <Report name> into itab
to read the source code into an internal table.
Later you can use the "Contains Pattern" operator to get the statements that you need.
