How to get new and old value in an alert?

Hi,
I created one event alert in Oracle Apps on PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F table.My intention is to execute the concurrent program attached to the alert when the user changes last_name fileld of that table.How can i get the :new.last_name and :old.last_name in alert.
Please give valuable solution to this question

As I aware of there is not concept of :old vs :new in alert. since you change last_name which mean it is an update instead of correction then you can get the new effective start_date and do minus - 1 to get the previouse record effective end_date and using that you can get the old last name.

How to compare New and Old long text at PO Line Item

Hi all,
I am Using user exit "EXIT_SAPMM06E_013". In user exit i am trying to compare the old and new values of PO maintain at item level. All this values, i am getting in X and Y structures in user exit
For long text there is no Such structures. When i am trying to fetch the details from FM Read_Text to fetch this values, Every time i am getting old values. Since new values has not yet been store to database.
Is there any way through which i can compare the old and new values of item Long text.

How to get key and text value of field "TNDRST" in VTTK from R/3 into BI

There is one field call "TNDRST(Tender Status)" in SAP table VTTK in R/3. We can find key value, but we are unable to find text for this field in VTTK. However we can see text value if we double click domain:TNDRST and go to value range.
Questions, how to get key value and text of TNDRST together in BI. Do we need to create a master data source for TNDRST text information in R/3 and extracting into BI, if yes, how to? Are there any easy way to do it??

You need to create a generic Text Datasource to extract this information into BI System.
1. Create a generic DS based on Table: DD07T
2. The fields should be put in the extract structure.
          DOMNAME (Make this as Selection in the DS ) -
Filter the Domain Name
          DOMVALUE_L -
Key Value of Tender Status
          DDTEXT -
Text / Description
          DDLANGUAGE -
Language
3. DD07T is the table with all the Domain names & their values, so in the Infopackage enter the Selection Value for DOMNAME as 'TNDRST' and then run it.
Or you can create a view out of this table based on DOMNAME filter as 'TNDRST'.

Sounds like you need very basic advice: Start with the tutorials: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html
And if the algorithm is the problem:
- Make two variables that hold the current maximum and minimum value
- whenever a value is entered, compare it with the minimum, if it is smaller, set the minimum to that value
- ditto with maximum
at the end the two variables contain the maximum and minimum values.

How to get new and updated data into LO Excel in Xcelsius

Dear Experts,
I have created dashboard on top of webi report by using Live-Office connection. Latest data of webi report is imported into excel and mapped data with components and generated SWF file and exported into server.
To day my webi report has latest instance with new and updated data. But until unless by clicking "Refresh All Objects" i am not getting updated data into excel.
When i am trying to open dashboard in BI Launch Pad/CMC it is showing data whatever exist in excel(i.e yesterday data). But here we need to show data of latest instance of webi report.(i.e New and updated data as of now).
I have selected option "Latest instance: From latest instance scheduled by" in "refresh options".
My Question & Doubts:
1) Is it mandatory to open dashboard every day and need to click on "Refresh All Objects" to get updated data into excel or dashboard.
2) Is there any option to automate this process.

Hi,
Schedule the webi report to get the latest data from the source. To answer your query no is doesn't require to open the dashboard every time to refresh the excel to get the latest data.
Please use the Refresh Before Components are Loaded: Select this option to refresh the data each time the model loads and to use that data as the initial data for the model (using a Reset Button component, it will reset the data to the values from the last time the model was loaded).
You are using the Live Office so here automatic refresh is not possible without touch the swf file, you need to use the refresh but to get the latest data. If you are using QAAWS, Web Service & XML then automatic refresh is possible.

How to get view attribute old value

Hello,
I have an update page which has a view object associate with, I first execute query to display view attribute value on the page, then I edit the page, and before saving to database, I want to compare row attribute value before editting and the one after editting. row.getAttributeName("attributeName") always returns whatever value currently on the screen.
Is there any method that allows me to get old row attribute value, the value comes from database?

If you are concerned only about a couple of attributes, then you can manage with a separate copy of the data. But if the data is in bulk, better leave it to pl/sql side of validation.

I'm finding very difficulty to get a field value.. In oracle 11i form there is a field name called total accured and it has value 519.. but i'm not able get this .i search in all tables so iwent to help--> tools-->examine--(diagnostic)-->

It may be a derived / calculated field, which is why you might not be finding it in a table.
For information on the last query run (may give a clue) do help -> examine, then change block to "SYSTEM" and Field to "LAST_QUERY".
Also, Help -> Record History will show you the table or view that the data comes from. May also lead to a clue.And this is what is mentioned in the doc referenced above.

Cant able to see new value and old value for change in purchase order text

I am not able to see changes done in material's purchase order text in material master. When i use tcode MM04 to see changes done material master it does not report new and old value for change if it is done in purchase order text of that material .

I'm not sure it works or not. But you can try SCU3 t.code and table DBTABLOG. May it can help you out.

You will need to do the following:
1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID, and sign in with your current ID. EDIT that ID back to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify the email address, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and Sign off of/Delete the iCloud account. When prompted, input your current password. Sign out of any other apps that are signed into the old ID: iTunes & App Store, FaceTime, Messages, Mail.
3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with the old ID/current password. EDIT the old ID back to your current ID. You may have to verify the email address again.
4.     Go back to your device and sign into iCloud, iTunes, FaceTime, Messages, Mail as needed.

May I know what is purpose of this requirement, as olaf said,you may parse the T-SQL code (or the execution plan), which is not that easy.
I have noticed that the condition values in your Stored Procedure(SP) are hard coded and among them there is a date values, I believe some day you may have to alter the SP when the date expires. So why not declare 3 parameters of the SP instead hard coding?
For multiple values paramter you can use a
table-valued parameter. Then there's no problem getting the values.
If you could elaborate your purpose, we may help to find better workaround.

Using correlation names :new and :old in ODBC

Does anyone know how to use correlation names :new and :old through an ODBC connection?
EG:
CREATE TRIGGER Print_Cust_changes
BEFORE INSERT ON CUST_tab
FOR EACH ROW

dbms_output.put('Adding: ' || :new.custid);
END;
When I try to do that using ODBC, I get this error:
Server Msg: 24344, State: HY000, [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]
Trigger, procedure or function created with PL/SQL compilation error(s).
And if I try and Insert I get:
Server Msg: 4098, State: HY000, [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]
ORA-04098: trigger 'BCL.PRINT_CUST_CHANGES' is invalid and failed re-validation
The same code works perfectly in SQL*Plus.

The plot thickens...
I just tried this code:

BEFORE INSERT ON CUST_tab
FOR EACH ROW

And received the same error:

Again, using the same code (Cut & Paste) in SQL*Plus, it works without any problems.
The ODBC function being used is: SQLExecuteDirect(), ODBC driver is SQLORA32.dll v9.02.00.00
CREATE TABLE, VIEW, INDEX etc, all work fine, but not a trigger. If I read the code back from ALL_TRIGGERS after using SQL*Plus or the console application to create the trigger, it is exactly the same code...
