i've downloaded new update but not getting any such option to keep mails forever. kindly advise.
Is your account set up as ActiveSync or IMAP?
If IMAP, you have to delete it and set it up again, and will have an option of up to 90 days.
If ActiveSync, go to Settings > Accounts, and choose your your account.  Select Advanced at the bottom of the screen.  Scroll all the way to the bottom of the advanced screen and you'll see the option to change Sync Timeframe.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I am with KJ, I have no real idea what you are asking about. The app store does not usually have email involved with it.

If you have an IMAP account (eg, Gmail) that another computer also has access to, or that you have webmail access for, the quickest way is probably to delete them on that computer rather than the iPad. If you must delete them directly from the iPad, you can click Edit at the top of the screen, highlight the emails that you want to delete (click the box at the left of each) then click Delete at the bottom.

  • How to get an email when data got inserted

    Hi All,
Could you please let me know how to get an email when data got inserted into table by using sql/plsql
    Thanks in adavance

Could you please let me know how to get an email when data got inserted into table by using sql/plsql
Well that seems pretty straightforward - write some pl/sql to send you an email when that pl/sql inserts data into a table.
See this Oracle-base article for an example of sending mail.

Post what you have tried so far. What part of what you have tried doesn't seem to be working?

Yes. Oracle does keep track of records but in a different way. It saves the redo information in redo logs so that it can recover the database in case of crash.
It also keeps undo information in separate tablespace in case you rollback your transaction.
But... this is not what I would call maintaining history.
Moving ahead, these redo logs are archived to another location if you have archiving enabled.
You can use log miner to mine through these archived logs but I doubt if any human would have patience to go through all those archive logs that are generated frequently, just to track the updates/deletes done.
For me, adding a trigger is much simpler.

  • How do I get old emails from Time Machine into a new Mail?

I have (I hope) email data in Time machine as of April 8  which I can't figure out how to get into my newly reinstalled version of Mail.
I took over my brother-in-law's iMac on April 8, and closed his User ID, saving it in a .dmg file.  Now that he has a new computer, he would like his old emails, so I reactivated his user ID, and reinstalled his email accounts in Mail as of May 27.  When I look at the Time Machine Backups drive, there is a data folder for April 8, but when I open my newly re-installed Mail and click on Time Machine it only goes back to May 27.
Is there a way to get at the April 8 data?
    Thanks,
    jrguest1

I set up an admin account for myself, logged on to it, and then followed the procedure in the help file to delete his account, saving it as a .dmg file.  Then, when he asked for his old emails, I followed the procedure in the help file to restore a deleted user account and copied the contents of the .dmg into it.
I'm not entirely confident I got the restoration sequence right, since I find the order of steps in the help file confusing. But everything except the Mail data seems to be recovered.
Another source of trouble may be the email account settings:  when I opened Mail under his log-on, there were no accounts set up: I recreated them using his email address and password, but Mail may well be treating these as new accounts, rather than re-opened old accounts.
    Thanks, John

  • TS3274 I keep getting old email messages that I have deleted.  How do I get rid of that?

I kep getting old messages in my email box.  How do I get rid of this?

Go into settings and the 'mail and contacts' tab, then explore that account set up (accounts set up differently so I can't give specific directions) and see if you see an option to 'delete off server when deleted off device'
You may also need to access the mail account on the web and see if you have to give it permission to allow a mobile device to control it (I had to go into hotmail adn tell it that it was okay if the mobile device controlled the server)
Ultimately what you need is for your iPad to delete the messages off the mail server so they go away for good.

  • Getting old email on my new mac

First, I apologize if this is covered elsewhere. I bought a macbook last night. I've moved over most of my stuff from my old imac (running 10.4) to the new mac boo (running 10.5). I've got the mail account set up, but how do I get the old emails over to the new machine.
    Thanks for any help.

quit mail on the new computer and move the folder homedirectory/library/mail AND the file homedirectory/library/com.apple.mail.plist to the corresponding locations on the new computer. delete the already existing folder and file on the new computer first. then when you start Mail it will look just like it did on the old computer including all accounts and messages.

  • How to find old emails received 3+ years ago?

A few months back I was able search through old emails in my inbox and find emails from as far back as November 2011. Now when i search I can only go back as far as July 2012. These emails were not deleted, I am sure of that. So is there any way of finding these emails from Nov 2011 and if possible even further back? The farther back I can go the better.

If I need to find a deadlock last afternoon, how do I run sql query on System_health session to get it?
    I need specific sql script.
I have already posted the query in this thread, but for you convenience here it is again:
    SELECT
    xed.value('@timestamp', 'datetime2(3)') as CreationDate,
    xed.query('.') AS XEvent
    FROM
SELECT CAST([target_data] AS XML) AS TargetData
    FROM sys.dm_xe_session_targets AS st
    INNER JOIN sys.dm_xe_sessions AS s
    ON s.address = st.event_session_address
    WHERE s.name = N'system_health'
    AND st.target_name = N'ring_buffer'
    ) AS Data
CROSS APPLY TargetData.nodes('RingBufferTarget/event[@name="xml_deadlock_report"]') AS XEventData (xed)
    ORDER BY CreationDate DESC
Note that since System Health writes to a ring buiffer, data is not available forever.

  • How to get an email online when showing offline for sending. Solutions on site don't solve the problem.

How do you get an email account online when it is showing offline for sending. All settings are correct, previous solutions on the site don't help. One account works find the other one receives but doesn't send. No issues with ISP was found. This may have been happening since OS travel. Took a while to realise it was using the other account for sending.

I just solve the problem. While OS we brought an internet USB and connected to a phone, one or both of these must have caused the problem. When both of the downloads associated with them were deleted the email issue was resolved. regards

  • How to restore old emails from Outlook to Mac Mail?

I have recently configured my email account (server type POP3) on Mail. It has retrieved my emails from last few weeks. However the older emails are missing. I was using Outlook and Mozilla thunderbird as email clients on Windows computer. I do have a backup of the data from windows computer on external hard drive. Can someone explain my how to I restore those old emails to the newly configued mac Mail account?

I had about 7500 emails, and they converted OK...took awhile because each one has to be converted, but it finished fine.
Although you can export from multiple Outlook folders, Mac Mail doesn't have a very slick importer for multiple mailboxes.  So, you'll need to export the mailboxes from Outlook (which will create 25 different files, each full of email), and then import each of those into Mail. In my case, Mail created a separate folder for each exported file, but the folders all descended from the root folder (not nested), so I had to create my own nesting.  This is more a limitation of the mbox standard that Apple uses than it is a limitation of Mac Mail itself, from what I read.

  • HOW TO GET OLD FILES FROM HARD DRIVE? HELP!!!!

hello. so i changed my 320gb HD to a 1.5tb! its running good. the reason why i changed it was because it went white with a folder that had a question mark blinking! so i inserted the disk that came with it and it wouldnt come up on "select a destination" and when i would go to disk utility, it would only show "Media" (which i believe was suppose to be my hard drive), Pioneer CD-RW, and the Installation Disk. so i decided to buy a new and bigger HD and did a partition (dont what that means but it worked) and installed Leopard. now its working good. i just need help on how to get my old files from this old HD i have in hand (the 320gb). like what do i use? can i put it in a PC? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

If the old drive is not accessible then, no, you will not be able to access all your files on it. In this case you may need to look at the following:
    Basics of File Recovery
    Files in Trash
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location. OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. If a program does an immediate delete rather than moving files to the Trash, then the files are gone. Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When files are deleted only the directory entries, not the files themselves, is modified. The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, but the files are still on the drive. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten with recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.
