How to get old songs on itunes on new computer?

I backed up my itunes before, but not after some of the music/artwork/etc was added. My old computer fried and I managed to recover some of the old music on the new one. However, some of the songs are not the versions that I have now and there are some songs that I deleted soon after starting up itunes that are back. Along with that, some songs that I didn't buy or get from a CD are gone. If I plug in my ipod to the computer and sync it, will the songs that I have on my ipod now (that I would prefer be what is on my computer) be erased from the ipod? Or will it replace the stuff in itunes with what is on my ipod?
If theres a process I can go through to get this stuff back to the way it was on my old computer, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone explained it to me. If the only way to get everything back right would be to go back and redownload everything seperately, please let me know because it would be a pain to have to go through the downloading and redownloading of multiple songs.

I use an excellent free application called Sharepod, http://www.getsharepod.com/about/ which will transfer all your music from your iPod to your PC, then you import this into iTunes. Just use the Backup iPod mode in Sharepod, and make sure it is pointing to the right destination folder. Test one track or album before you transfer everything.
After this is complete add all the transferred music to iTunes. If you use Automatic be careful because syncing this will then erase everything on your iPod and transfer it back again from your PC! If you manually sync no problem.
Be careful as an automatic sync to your new iPod will wipe it clean! BEFORE you connect your new iPod to iTunes go to iTunes and change this option to prevent this:
+Edit-Preferences-Devices-Uncheck "Disable automatic syncing..."+
Your other music that is on cd's, just copy them into your My Music folder and then add them to iTunes.

Every iTunes library must include the .itl file. Depending on how you've configured Windows Explorer, it may be listed as "iTunes Library" without the .itl extension. Check the iTunes folder on your old computer (default location C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes) - you should see something like this:

if you purchased them from iTunes, the terms of service indicate that you can only download the files once, and urges you to make a backup of your music.. if you don't have a backup, you will either have to re-purchase them, or rip them from CDs, etc

How to get ALL data from ipod to new computer with itunes??

I have a ipod touch 2nd gen. I have cd's and purchased songs on my ipod. I did use itunes on my friends computer for a number of years but now I've got windows 7 computer and i have downloaded itunes but it won't let me transfer current data on my ipod to itunes without me loosing it all. I can only access itunes at friends now. Is there any way to get all my songs, playlists, apps (with data still on it) and photos without deleting it? I am looking for the cheapest way possible. I have tried downloading copy software but it all costs money. Thanks

By 'rebooted' do you mean that you only rebooted it, or that you reinstalled its software ?
If rebooted then aare the songs still on your computer, just not in iTunes - by default your iTunes library is stored under :
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If it's there then File > Add To Library in iTunes should let you add it back.
If not then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases (including apps, films etc) back from your phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
For non-iTunes purchases (and for purchases if need be) there are some programs listed half-way down this page which can copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Then add them to iTunes via File > Add To Library
If iTunes thinks that you are trying to sync the phone to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

I just traded in my 3 month old, older version iMac intel, for the new one, not sure I got a good deal, but wanted it and it's another story heh..anyway, I backed up my music library on a DVD-R, but how do I get them into my library on the new computer? I have an old iPhone4 & a new iPhone5 that I am dying to use but my laptop with iTunes on it died before my new phone arrived & I am a bit technically challenged. I have been given the use of my cousin's old windows laptop & I have created a new user on the laptop and installed iTunes but I cannot see any of my music, aps etc on there so I am not sure if I’ve done it properly. I can view my account details and that’s it. So I don’t know if I’ve done it properly. I have iCloud and have set it up on the new laptop too, I can see my contacts & calendar but I cannot see photos in my Photo Stream album where it said they should be, which makes me wonder if I have set that up properly either. I really don’t want to lose my latest photos since syncing my phone the last time. I do not know if I am able to retrieve anything from my old laptop at this stage but I’d really like to start using my new iPhone in the interim of finding out. Can anyone help me? If plugged in my old iPhone4 into this new computer would it sync all my stuff on there into the iTunes on this new computer? And then would I be able to plug in my new iPhone5 to this computer & it would sync all my stuff on to the new phone?

iPhones are not backup devices.
Use the backup of the old computer to put everything on the new computer.
Then you can sync the new iPhone and get all the content on it.

I left my window open and my motherboard got rained on. I had to replace it and my phone was synced to it. I replaced my motherboard so I have a new computer basically and now my music is all unorganized and messy in my library. How do I make this itunes my new main one without deleting my music?
