How to get \ on a French keyboard?

Hi,
I'm using a bluetooth Apple French keyboard with a US Macbook Air & I can't figure out how to type a "\". My system language is set to French - Numerical.
I can type it using the Macbook Air keyboard after switching the sytem language to US but I'd like a shorter way to do this using the French keyboard.
Thanks in advance.

  • How to turn off my French keyboard to English

Hi there How can I switch the French keyboard to the English oneÉ Thank you! Angelina

Hi, You can't physically change a French keyboard to the typcial English keyboard.  You will have to by a new keyboard, change a BIOS setting and reinstall the operating system for English support.

  • How to get an international English keyboard?

Does anyone know how to get a MBP with an international English keyboard instead of the US English one? I find the rectangular return key almost impossible to get used to after years of using an L-shaped one.

The MBP  ships with a standard keyboard, though it may be possible to remap individual keys. However, you're going to still have a standard keyboard.
You can change keyboards if you have a desktop Mac, and there are several options in a variety of languages. But a notebook is limited in this way.

    Hello:
System preferences>language & text>input sources.  Check the one you want.
I reread my post....I assumed (error) you were connected to a Mac.  I have no clue how you can do that when connected to an iPad.

  • How to get rid of French on Adobe Acrobat.I need English to use this software on my brand new laptop

Hi, I need English instructions for my Adobe Acrobat, I have a brandnew HP laptop with windows 8. Do I just need to simply unistall and reinstall the soft ware from Adobe site?
    Bapak Daud

For Reader, yes. As far as I know (I only have version 10) Acrobat Pro installs in a multilanguage pack that includes English, French and German, maybe Italian too. Reader installs in only the language selected for the download.
You can download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

For most Apple apps, system prefs/language & text/text/spelling -- set it to Français.
For Pages, Inspector > Text > More > Language
For MS Office, check its Help.

  • How to get back to English keyboard?

By mistake I tapped the "International" key and the keyboard switched to Chinese. Is there a quick way to get back to English without cycling thru all the other keyboards? (Everything else is still in English; only the keyboard is changed.)

Yes it is. It will cycle through whichever Keyboards you have configured or as you put it are "active".
I have 3 keyboards configured. English, spanish, and Emoji.  When I hold it down only those 3 keyboards appear. It doesn't show the entire list of available keyboard formats and layouts that the iPad can handle.
My "configured" and your "active" mean the same thing.
Which is why I suggested the poster just tap the key again. Unless they have every supported keyboard configured / active then in at most a couple of taps it should return to the original keyboard layout.
Yes the Tap and Hold also works.

LR Watermarks are applied during Export.   So to “remove” them you should re-export pictures without watermarks enabled.

  • How To Get A New Midi Keyboard Working On Mac 5G

    Hello
i have a new midi keyboard ( Yamaha mx61 ) and an old mac 5g. Iv used a midi drum kit fine ( Yamaha DTX ) just plug in and play with garage ban. However, the keyboard want be found. The USB ( small ) from the keyboard to the USB to the computer , same as the drums and it's pick up as a standard typing keyboard.
Iv tried using the discs given but they won't work as this mac is running on10.4.11. Is there anyway to get it to work in garage band or is this to do with my mac being old.
    thanks

Buying an Install Disc is the only way, it an Upgrade rather than an Update in strict terms.
10.4.x to 10.4.11 is an update, 10.4.x to 10.5.x is an upgrade.
    Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
        *  Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    minimum system requirements
        * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

  • How to enable an apple french (azerty) wireless keyboard to type in french whilst retaining the normal inbuilt qwerty keyboard typing in english?

Hi there, I recently bought an apple wireless azerty French keyboard to go with my English macbook air, as for my degree I often have to type in French. However, upon connecting it to the macbook air it instantly started typing as though it had the qwerty layout and only by going on system preferences and changing the language & text imput sources to French was I able to get it to type in the correct azerty manner.
The problem I have is that this also changed my macbook's inbuilt qwerty keyboard to the azerty format, and so I wondered if anyone could tell me how I can make the wireless azerty keyboard instantly be recognised as typing in the french format when I turn it on, whilst retaining my inbuilt keyboard's qwerty layout, rather than constantly having to change them both in system preferences?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Anna

    That's not possible.
But switching keyboard layouts is very simple.  Either use the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen or the keyboard shortcut apple/command plus space.
If you don't see the ¨flag¨, check the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar in the Input Sources pane.
If the keyboard shortcut doesn´t work, you may have to change the shortcut for Spotlight, which is often the same.

  • How does one turn the french keys on and off in the wireless keyboard?

how does one turn on and off the French keys on a wirleless keyboard?

    Hello dustysmart,
I believe what is going on is that you have a secondary keyboard turned on within Windows. When you press alt + shift at the same time you are alternating between the two keyboards.
To check this (and possibly delete the French keyboard if you don't want it) you can go into Control Panel and check under Change Keyboard.
This article will provide you instructions depending on which version of Windows you are using.

    You can't.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.
