How to get photos that are saved under Events in iPhoto to external drive

Hi,
I do photo slideshows on my Windows PC. I have all my photos under specific names Events in iPhoto on my Macbook Pro. How do I get a group of photos onto my Simpledrive external hard drive. I have tried to save it to desktop then drag the folder in the Simpledrive but it does not work.
I was hoping someone out there could help me please.
Thanks
Dave

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Mount the external drive and then open the destination folder
Run iPhoto and select the Event then 'Select All' (command-a) and drag those items to the destination folder (just tested this on a zip drive and it worked as expected)
Make sure the external drive is correctly formatted for the Mac to write to, while it can read NTFS it must be FAT32 for writing.

  • How to delete photos that are "saved images" on iphone 5?

    No iCloud
    Win7 Professional
iPhone says 1631 pix, 88 vids, and 12GB
Camera roll says 773 photos, 9 vids
iTunes says 1719 pix, along with 12 GB used
I have individually deleted massive numbers of pix.  Not a problem; just can't get rid of the "remnants."
For iTunes:  I set up an empty folder under My Pictures, sync/selected and applied, then unchecked sync and applied - nothing.
I also set up a new folder with just the pix that I want on the phone, synced (selected that folder only), hoping to replace all content with those photos.  Nope.
Most of my photos happen to be from emails or pictures that I have taken.
Any suggestions will be gratefully considered.  Thanks in advance!!!  Going berserk here.

    Greetings desertrat8,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have a lot of saved photos on your iPhone and would like to delete or remove them. Deleting them manually from your device is one way to accomplish this, but a more efficient way to remove them all would be to erase them after importing. The attached article explains how to import your photos to a Windows computer. After the import, you will be given a choice to keep or delete the photos on your iPhone that you have just imported to the computer. Please reference the attached article for further information.

  • I have lost my iPhone 5. How can I get photos that are backed up on iCloud?

    Hello,
I have lost my iPhone 5. How can I get photos that are backed up on iCloud?
    Thanks!

I wish, essentially you have an image file of your personal information integrated with parts of IOS in the cloud server. If you had it on your computer - you could use one of the software extractors (bunch with google search, paid and free). From icloud server it can be restored to other iphone, ipod touch, ipad - then backed up or imported to computer for you. Then that other device can return to your friend or family member. That is the only way I can think of.

When you move or copy the compound clips with their events into an external drive all the events should be there. Not clear on why you want to move them into a single event. You can drag and drop from one event to another.
Why are you using compound clips? You can simply copy the project from each machine with used media onto the external drive and that should do it.

  • HT201317 Is there a way to get photos that are over 30 days old onto icloud (and then to my windows computer through photostream)?

I was wondering if there was a way to get the photos that are over 30 days old into my photostream on my computer. My iPhone 5 has 1,000 photos in the photostream but only the ones that are less than 30 days old go on to my computer. I can't find any setting on icloud either- just yes/no photostream and then my photostream and the share option. I want to do this so I can view my older photos on my computer so I can save them in my computer's library.
    Thanks!

No. PhotoStream only stores a maximum of 1000 photos for up to 30 days as stated in all descriptions of the service. You're supposed to download photos you want to keep within 30 days of them going to PhotoStream.
PhotoStream is not a permanent storage solution.

  • How find those media that are listed under "Project Assets" but no longer used in Timeline?

    Good day everyone.
Been working on a fun project for a while  now and overtime, I've added audio, images and vidoes to my project that later, I decided not to use in the Timeline.  These media (for example, a specific song, or a picture) are still loaded when I load the project and are listed under the Project Assets of course.  The reason being, I never deleted them from from the project.
Now, I probabaly have about 30 to 40 such cases.  It's time to clean house and I want to know if there is a commend or some way to get Premiere (PE12) to highlight, flag or somehow let me know which media, though listed and loaded, is not used in the Timeline.
    Any chance this functionality exists?
    Best.

For your consideration...try on a new mini test run project before you use it on a "real" project....
    Open Project Assets
Click on its Panel Options Tab
    In Panel Options select View
    In View select List View
In List View all the files that are in Project Assets and are on the Timeline will have a green dot in the Used column.
If you remove a file from the Timeline, the green dot next to the file involved will disappear.
You should be able to go through the opened Project Assets/List View and Clear all those entries that do not have a green dot next to them.
Another safety net to consider....make a copy of the "real" project, and try the above on the copy.
Please let us know if we have targeted your question and if the above works for you.
    Thanks.

  • How can I get photos that are tagged in the people tab into a new event? I am using a PC and Elements 12?

Please help very frustrated trying to make a video for my parent's 50th anniversary. I have hundreds of pictures tagged in my mom and in my dad stack of pictures on the "people" tab. Is there anyway to drag them into a new event?

  • How to get songs that are in "previous iTunes Libraries" folders ??

I am unable to play scores and scores of songs that were on my iTunes 4.9 playlists now that I have "upgraded" to 7.0 I have a strange icon to the left of the song on my song list and when I go to play the song I get a message that the song cannot be located. The following notes come from iTunes help (see below) and I am wondering if anyone else has lost music and if so.....are they really lost or just misplaced? I would hate to think Apple would insist on an upgrade to buy more iTunes if they are going to scrub away hundreds of your other songs.
    HELP PLEASE
Note: The library file name for versions of iTunes prior to 4.9 was "iTunes 4 Music Library" for Mac OS X and "iTunes 4 Music Library.itl" for Windows. After upgrading to iTunes 4.9 or later, the older library files are moved to a "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder.

If the strange icon you refer to is an exclamation point, the problem is that the song files are not in the location the iTunes Library files are saying they are.
Note that the iTunes Library files do not contain the actual song files but rather a list of references that point iTunes to where the songs are (or rather should be) located.
So the first thing I'd do is find out just where the files are on your computer. Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base for some ideas on how to do so.
Post back and let us know if you're able to find the song files.

  • HT201302 How to import photos that are imported from itunes back to iphoto?

I had imported photos from Itunes( Iphoto ) to my iphone and i deleted all the photos in Iphoto. Now I wanted to control some of the photos but I can't! If I sync photos again, all the photos will be gone. So I wanted to import the photos in my Iphone back to Iphoto. Anyone knows how?

The iTunes transfer process for photos from your computer is a one way transfer process only. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone - the original resolution is changed/lowered, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but the original resolution of these photos deleted from your computer will be lost and the 3rd party utilities are not supported by Apple.

  • How to get photos off iPad 1st gen

Anyone know a way I can get photos off an iPad 1st Gen? It is not recognized by iPhoto 9 that is currently running on Mavericks.
This should have been synced a long time ago but my wife never did and now has photos on it that she wants.... I know, I know....
    Tried:
    - Using Image Capture - does not see it
    - When I launch iPhoto, it says "Loading" and never does anything.
    - iTunes does see it but that doesn't help to get photos off of it.
    - Saw a program that let's you transfer files off but it cost $30 and thought there might be a way to do ift for free.
    Thanks, Jeff

The iOS version has nothing to do with importing photos.
Where are the photos located? iPhoto will only get photos that were saved to the iPad like saved from an email attachment. Those are in the Saved photos album
If the photos are in another album they were synced to the iPad. To get those you need a third-party program like PhoneView or TouchCopy

  • HT201317 How can i get all the photos that are in my photo stream on my mac onto my new iPhone?

How do I get the photos that are in my photo stream on my mac in iphoto onto my iphone 5?

By syncing them from your iphoto using that article
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes - Apple - Support
Or if last 30 days of pictures is enough for you, you just need to sign in to your icloud on the phone and turn photostream "ON".

  • I am using a 5D Mark II and I am getting a series of three curved lines on the photos that are under

I am using a 5D Mark II and I am getting a series of three curved lines on the photos that are under exposed only.  Can anyone help me figure out why it is doing this?

Everything on the sensor is going to be organized in rows and columns. You can get a bad pixel or a column of bad pixels... or perhaps even a block ... but not a curve. If you're seeing a curve then certainly there must be something else causing this.
The camera does have two internal filters in front of the sensor, but those are flat and would probably not be the source of a curved reflection.
If you are confident this happens with more than one lens, then I might remove the lens and use the menu system to put the camera into manual "sensor cleaning" mode. This really just causes the mirror to swing clear (to the roof the chamber) and also causes the shutter door to open and expose the sensor (although the sensor is actually powered down when in "cleaning" mode). This would allow you to visually check to make sure nothing is hanging in the light path.
I would normally suspect the problem is caused either by the lens or possibly by a filter mounted on the front of the lens (do you use any type of UV filter or other filter when this happens?) The lens itself is curved glass... but since a "filter" would be flat glass in front of the curved glass, a reflection off the curved glass can bounce back off the filter and into the camera. Many "ghosting" problems are caused by the use of filters (and these can be eliminated by removing the filter or reduced by using filters with anti-reflective coatings.)
Hopefully you can the solution -- but I would probably be looking at the optics as I suspect this is not related to the camera body.

  • How do i delete all the photos that are in that Photo app?   it is eating up all my memory

how do i delete all the photos that are in that Photo app?   it is eating up all my memory

Photos transferred from your computer are removed from the iPhone the same way they were transferred from your computer, via the iTunes sync process. To remove all such photos, deselect Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.
Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera followed by deleting the photos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete.
