How to get real fullscreen/quality Spiderman3 movi...

Hi folks,
well, my question is, not how to convert Spiderman3 from DVD to N95. In fact I converted it already, and it is running.
But, I want to know, with which software I can convert Spiderman3 from DVD exactly the same like the original which has been on the mobile. I lost my activation key due to firmware-updating. With exactly the same, I mean without cutting the picture and looking full screen, without any black stripes... Because every converter (I tried a lot of, SUPER, DVDFab, AVS video Tools, Daniusoft, handbrake...) besides the cucusoft video converter cannot do real full screen converting to 320x240. Everytime you have to cut the picture, so something is missing, or there are small black stripes top and bottom. And Cucusoft quality is lets say, not good... but this works fullscreen without cutting anything.
Or to simplify the question, does anyone know, which converter Nokia used to convert it to the phone? Or is this a private converter, not available for the public? Or has something like adjusting the Display Aspect Ratio (DAR) and Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) to do with that and can solve my problem?

The problem is the source DVD!
See if you open a DVD stream it's size is usually 720x480 which is an aspect ratio of 1.5 but the actual video is aspect ratio of 2.35 so what they do is they put the black bars already in the DVD video!
So when you put Pan&Scan option in the ripper it calculates these black bars as being part of the picture, so it converts from 1.5 to 1.3333 aspect ratio (320x240), but in reality it should convert from 2.35 to 1.3333.
This is further complicated because some movies use also other aspect ratios like 1.778 (16x9) or 1.85 (cinemascope) but then they put those also into 1.5 DVD.
So what can you do. First is figure out what the actual video screen aspect is. Most DVDs will have this information in the back of the box.
Then get a calculator and figure out how many pixels are there in the vertical and how many pixels are there in the video feed. So if its a 2.35 anamorphic movie and the video size is 720x480 the actual video size is only 720x306 so there are 87 extra black pixels in the top and bottom.
So in order to get full screen you would have to first copy the movie into WMV or AVI (but you must have DIVX codec installed in your machine to use AVI or FFMPEG). And don't change the resolution leave it in auto.
Now you will have a DIRECTSHOW file that has the black bars. Now you will use SUPER encoder (www.erightsoft.com) to re-encode this video. Encode into WMV or AVI if you want to further encode it or directly into MPEG-4 if you want. Use the DIRECT SHOW BUTTON and then you will have to use the CROP/PAD and you will crop the picture.
156 pixels on each side and 86 on the top and 88 on the bottom. This will create a video that's 408x306 (or 1.333333). Now you could either use this video as is (it should work in N95 and newer devices)
Or now use Super again and encode into the right size. (320x240).
640K Should be enough for everybody

Hello all,
I got an 11" macbook air a little while back and until that Firefox always was my go to browser.
It seems that getting a real firefox fullscreen (with auto-hiding toolbars) on mac currently is either impossible or really hard. I did my research and tried things but couldn't get it to work for me... And this got to the point where it was "dealbreaker" for me for two reasons :
- On this small screen, the toolbars take a bit less than 10% of the area, which is quite a bit. Plus I really like to navigate fullscreen, I feel I can immerse way better in the websites with no toolbars (that sometimes are at high contrast with the page colors etc...)
- I'm developing a webpage-based psychology experiment that I want to be able to pass on this macbook air (at least for the first tests), and as it involves some immersion in the content, it would benefit from fullscreen.
So I switched to Chrome (which does this "real" fullscreen) for these reasons, but I generally prefer Firefox and would be glad to switch back if real fullscreen was an option. My question is, have you found a way for it to work ? If not, can this be turned into a feature request (is it relevant, how do I do that) ?

I'm currently on OS X 10.10.2, Firefox 37, but was also unable to get it to work back on OS X 10.9. Also it seems that this issue has been around for a long time, I would love to just have an option for the type of fullscreen I want, not having to rely on a temp fix (which I haven't found anyway)...

I use it for extra windows that aren't full screen that have a media player, so I do not want to open new tabs.
I also have a shortcut key (I use the code in PrefBar) to toggle the toolbox area on/off and can thus make the toolbars quickly appear.
If you can't hide toolbar on Mac in full screen mode then this could be a possibility.
I don't know if there are extensions for Mac that can hide (toggle) toolbar and possibly toggle the Tab bar.
If you change the selector then you can toggle individual toolbars instead of currently toggle the entire navigator toolbox.

You need to add valuePassThru="true" in your <af:selectOneChoice component. I have personally tested it and got the actual value in alert box. I hope this time you got the real solution. You can also test the following code by your end.

How to get your sound quality great in Vi

Guys,
Ive installed vista64 since i did a major upgrade along with my X-FI Gamer Fatality Soundcard, i always thought it dont sound great at all.
Ive just figured out why, in the sound options of the control panel where you can select the quality of sound always select 48hz studio quality dont go for the 96hz studio quality.
Do this in all the sound settings for each device and then tailor it to 5. or stereo which every you prefer, then goto the creative console and match it eg 5., stereo etc.
If needed test the channels and see how nice it sounds. as you will notice so long as you have a decent setup it will sound more fuller in apps and games.
I was using 96hz studio quality and always thought why it sounded so flat but as soon as i changed it to 48hz studio quality its sounding like i was using XP again, wmp sounds really good, full 5.ch and so are my games.
You can say now im totally satisfied with vista 64/32, sounds great and it plays all my games really well. Anyways i hope this helps all you out there, let us know how you get on.

I know in order to get real time information about how many user are logged in, we can count how many active sessions exist by a SessionCounter code. However, I have to permit HttpSessionListener in web.xml of tomcat. From other users' experiences, the configuration is complexed and has some errors.

What errors do you mean? Errors in tracking people, variance in the count? Probably related to internet issues and nothing you can do will alleviate them.

Encode rates are dependent on the length of the video in total minutes.
For example, a 60 minute DVD should be encoded at a maximum bit rate of about 6.8 mbps if you use Dolby2 audio is you intend to burn it on a single layer DVD.
Do the math from there, but remember that you can't go beyond a combined bit rate of 10.2 for video and audio

My computer is using Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and has ilife 09 installed on an imac. I have been reading it is better to use imovie 06. When I tried to do a custom install from the 06 disk imovie and idvd were grayed out but had a checkmark. It would not let me deselect idvd. Not really knowing how to do this I quite the process. Can you or someone please advise me on how and what exactly to do in order to accomplish a custom install of imovie 06? Should I delete imovie 09 first? If so how is this accomplished. Perhaps it would be less complicated to purchase photo to movie? Really do not want to spend unless it is necessary since I only know a little about what I'm doing but enough to be dangerous to my computer

How do I get the best quality Quicktime movie

I have a wedding fair coming up and want to show some of my films on my laptop. I want to achieve the best possible qualiy I can but am not too worried about file size. I also want a large frame size, ideally 1024x576 or larger. Can anyone suggest the settings to use, I've tried converting using quicktime movie but can only manage to get a small frame size. Incidentally, my laptop is a PC so I wont be able use FCE.

How to get good picture quality on a burned DVD slideshow using IDVD?

After producing a slideshow on IDVD from either jpg or psd photos, it looked great when I played the project. Picture quality was excellent. When I burned a DVD to share the slideshow with a friend and when I played this on the same computer, it had lost resolution and looks awful. I am using best quality but this made no difference. On a hdtv using a standard player, the quality is mediocre. Is there any way to get a decent picture quality. I have also burned a DVD and CD from the IPhoto album, and the quality is better. IPhoto will not burn a slideshow or at least I do not know how to. Can you produce decent quality DVD using IDVD or is there a better application to produce decent DVD of photo slideshows?

Yes. It's called DVDSP (apple's top of the line DVD Authoring application). It has a much longer learning curve than iDvd and is more $$$ but it does work well. The Help Menu alone is over 640 pages long. However, is this app significantly better than iDvd solely in terms of visual quality?.... No.
But it does offer many more tools to address visual artifacts on the finished DVD, more audio control, much better control of durations per slide, audio, buttons that work as expected, among other things. (for additional examples of this see chapter 12 of the DVDSP Help Menu / starting on p. 373).
Short of DVDSP, and much less money, you can also try these 2 third party apps which come highly recommended on this iDvd Forum:

At the moment most macs do not yet support burning to Blueray (which does offer much better results). Once this technology is more commonplace, then I believe we will see a significant improvement in what you are trying to do above.

Right. That's how the system is designed. Each session is protected from
all of the other sessions, and each has its own set of devices and drivers.
You aren't allowed to access the real system display devices from a remote
desktop session.

How to get best possible quality ?

Hey whats up!
I wonder how can i get a best possible quality out of After Effects? I dont care about size , i just want best quality.
Every time i record PC gameplay then i edit a little bit on After effects , but when i render it it loses some quality and when i upload on Youtube its not even 1080p. I mean i have option in youtube to watch it in 1080p but quality is not 1080p! Any advice?

At the moment, this isn't about "quality", this is about horizontal and vertical dimensions of the video, and guess what? You don't even MENTION them! Maybe you ought to try looking up those properties of your video clips and reporting back in.....

How to get real time date from Sunny Boy Inverters through SMA Webbox?

I was looking on how to communicate with three Sunny Boy Inverters that are linked to a SMA webbox. Currently we get a daily summary of the solar production, but we would like to have real time data uploaded into LabVIEW. The people of SMA said that I needed to use "RS485 protocols" with a software they have called YASDI (http://www.sma.de/en/products/software/yasdi.html); however, I keep finding other information that says that I can communicate with my inverters using the SMA OPC server (http://www.sma-america.com/en_US/products/software/sma-opc-server.html). I also found this forum, http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Sunny-Island/m-p/809129/highlight/true#M368718, where I understood that I don't need to use the OPC server, but instead I can use UDP communication to get the data. I found another forum that talks about using the YASDI :http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/help-with-Sunny-Boy-inverter/m-p/293273/highlight/true#M153892.
I've tried to communicate with the people of the forums and I haven't gotten any responses; therefore, I wanted to see if I can get cleared up on this issue. Do I need to use OPC server to communicate with my inverters through the webbox or can I just use UDP in LabVIEW?

I got a response from Vincezo: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Sunny-Island/m-p/1794786. I'm currently working with the VI to communicate with the webbox through UDP. Since the PRC protocols to communicate with the webbox are in JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), I'm not sure if the data-in string has to be in JSON format. However, the only error I'm getting is 56 in the UDP read function. I've tried increasing the size of the bytes and timeout, but I keep getting this error. If anyone can help me with this part I would very grateful.

How to get good image quality for an icon

In the constructor of the main class which extends JFrame I set an icon by saying:
this.setIconImage(new ImageIcon("image.jpg").getImage());
This does not only set an icon on the title bar and the minimized window, it also creates an icon on my saved files (which are created with JFileChooser and ActionListener). However, the image quality of the icon on my saved files is bad, even though the image quality of the other icons is ok.
The bad quality image has broken lines where it is supposed to have smooth lines. The size of the image I am providing is close to the size of the icon on my saved files, but the image I am providing looks a lot better (in Photoshop) than the icon.
How did the icon get created for my saved files? Is it possible to improve the image quality?

Well, it wasn't Java that created the icon on the saved files. It was the operating system, which used the icon that I had on my executable, once I said "open with" this executable.
Well, now I am using a better icon maker program from Axialis, which creates icons at different sizes, and the icon on my saved files look perfect.

How to get best image quality when inserting PDF into Word?

I am able to insert a PDF as an object into Word, but the image quality is slightly blurry. Is there anything I can adjust to improve image clarity in Word?

You can try to extract the images using Extract All Images or select the Settings on the save screen that you get when you save to a DOC, but I think the general result is that the image saves with the same resolution as contained in the PDF. It may be that you need to just adjust your screen in WORD. You might want to look at the image in WORD and see if it is being used at 100% or some other resolution. Bitmaps are not very forgiving if the resolution is changed for the document and does not like anything other than low number fractions of resolution display change.
