How to get Realtek HD Audio to work with Creative Inspire 5.1 5200?

Hi,
I have a problem with correctly setting the Realtek HD Audio with my Creative Inspire 5200 5.1 speaker set. I don't get any sound on all of them when test button is clicked, only surround speakers work. They were working on my old PC. I did a search on this forum and Internet, but could not find any solution to this specific problem.
Setting:
* MSI drivers: 6.0.1.6267, directx 11, ALC 892
* Speakers set to default audio device
* Plugged in 3 jacks, colors matching (3 in a row - black:rear, orange: center/subwoofer, green:side speakers)
* On Realtek HD Audio Manager: Speaker configuration: 5.1 Speaker; Optional spakers: center, subwoofer, rear pair checked; full range speakers: front left and right and surround speakers checked; speaker fill/swap/bass management disabled.
What I get:
* left surround clicked: OK
* right surround clicked: OK
* No sound from others
Tests:
* Checked not muted
* Checked volume control, not set to zero
* Rechecked cables from MB to Creative Subwoofer
* Rechecked cables from Creative Subwoofer to speakers
* Checked other spaker configuration settings:
- Stereo : no sound
- Quadro: only surround spakers OK
- 7.1: surround spakers OK + left 2nd surround sound comes from right front speaker
Any directions are very much appreciated
Cheers
Bülent

I get something very similar with my Logitech 5.1 setup. However, I'm using a Creative Pro sound card. Some reminders for you. Remember that everyday normal sound is not encoded DD 5.1, i.e. Windows prompts, MP3, etc. 2 channel left and right stereo sound only nets 2 speakers even though you have 5.1. Unless you've set the sound card, or speaker controler to convert normal 2 channel left and right stereo to DD 5.1 you will only hear 2 speakers. It takes software that's dolby digital encoded to bring all 5.1 speakers to life. For example for every day computer sound my logitch speaker controller is set to "stereo x 2.1". With this setting the contoller sends 2 channel stereo to the front 2 speakers as well as rear 2 speakers plus the sub woofer. My center channel stays quiet until I change the controller effect to DD 5.1. I would change the speaker controller to DD 5.1 if I were to watch a DD 5.1 encoded DVD movie, or play a DD 5.1 encoded game. Keep in mind unless the software is encoded DD 5.1 anything you hear through all 5.1 speakers is SIMULATED! IMO the stereo x 2.1 sounds MUCH better than simulated DD 5.1.
Thank you for your answer, but I couldn't go so far yet I know some about sound and sound setups as I'm working in this area, namely video editing, sound processing, montage etc.
The problem is at "test button" level, somehow the mobo cannot drive the correct lines :(

how to get imac 27 inch to work with asus triple mionitors to work through matro triple head 2 go

I think I got a little ahead of myself explaining my problem, so let me clarify...
Only the one iMac is having the network file deletion problem, but it is included in the network user logon problem.  So 4 out of 5 of the iMacs have had or are having logon problems with network users accounts using mobile accounts on the systems.  2 of the 4 I have wiped and started over on and the other 2 have different network accounts being used by the primary system users.  The 5th iMac has not caused any problems except I forgot to mention that the USB on it seems flaky.
So we are apparently full of problems.

  • Does ANYBODY know how to get a Bluebird Mic to work with GarageBand?

I bought this really expensive Blue Bluebird condenser mic and I'd REALLY like to get it to work with GarageBand. I have a cable that converts from low impedance to high impedance, then some adapters to plug the cable into my iMic, which then connects via a USB port. I know that's a lot of connectors, but it's the only way I can think of to turn the Bluebird mic into a USB mic. Can anybody help me with this? PLEASE??

    that looks, uh, complicated.
none of it should be any more so than your current setup. if you went the interface route it would be Mic to interface interface to computer (USB or FireWire). if you went the analogue console route it would be the same, but into the iMic or Line-n on the computer
so I would need a female to male mic cable
standard mic cable, it's how they usually come.
Also, do you recommend the external Phantom Power supply, or a new interface?
that reaches more toward opinion, and also why i mentioned never using a separate power supply. you have to weigh cost vs quality (basically, what you expect from your final project).
if it's just for kicks, and your iMic's quality satisfies you, $20 for a power supply seems cost effective. if you're looking to reach the quality of recordings you hear on the radio, a better interface would be the right choice now since you'd wind up there eventually.
the in-between is the analogue console. having a mixer between the mic and the iMic definitely gives you more control since you can boost or attenuate the signal going to the iMic.
so the 3 choices you have would be: Power Supply-least quality, least control. Analogue Console-same quality, much more control. more expensive interface-possibly the best quality recording as well as good control.
since you picked a very good mic, i'd suggest looking toward a good interface like the FireBox (great Mic PREs for the expensive mic)
    hope that helps

  • How to get one crystal report to work with two different backends?

We have a software that can work with either SQL2008 or Visual Fox Pro backend.  We are trying to compile One Crystal report that will work with either of the two backends.  How to you make sure that your Crystal Report is compiled so that it will work with both backends?
Right now my reports were originally created using the SQL2008 backend and are retaining the DBO reference in the statement, which then will not allow the Crystal report to work with the VFP backend.

You can write your data sets as a command using hand coded SQL. As long as "dbo" is the only schema used in your SQL Server database, you don't need to specify it in the SQL. SQL Server will automatically assume the dbo.
The 2nd thing... The SQL needs to be 100% compatible with both SQL Server 2008 AND VFP.  This will limit the list available functions to those that are common to both platforms AND work exactly the same in both platforms.
The other part is to make sure you are using an ODBC type connection instead of OLD/DB. That way all of the connection properties are set on the local machine and the report is simply looking for the System DSN name.

  • How to get lower-quality previews when working with Full-HD?

I'm working with Full-HD video, but I don't need preview (rendered) files to be 1920x1080 too. It takes a lot of disk space and a lot of time to render preview files.
Is there a way to have them some lower quality? For example 720x405 resolution would be enough.
But when I want to make a final export, I need to get Full-HD video.
    Thanks!

Use a Custom sequence and change the previews as desired.

  • How to get RGB color corrector back working with YC waveform monitor

so, as many of you are probably aware, Adobe's latest update killed the RGB color corrector, at least in terms of using it with the YC waveform monitor.
    In this thread ( http://forums.adobe.com/message/4825916#4825916 )
    someone says-
"Yes it's a Bug since the 6.0.2 Update. I replace the effect in the premiere plugin directory with the same from version 6.0.1 and it's working again"
how can I go about doing this?
I looked on another machine running premiere 6.0.0, but I am not seeing a plugin for RGB color corrector in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\Plug-ins\Common
    and I don't know what "RGBColorCorrector.cubin" is in  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\PTX\cubin11
bottom line is that I want the RBG CC back working with the YC waveform monitor again.

also, I saw that initially, but assumed it was only used by after effects, due to the AE in the name, and that windows classifies it as an "adobe after effects effect".

  • How to get new E8400 CPU to work with P965 Neo-F V2?

My old Core 2 Duo E6850 CPU died recently, but Intel doesn't manufacture that model any longer it seems and noone has it available. From the mainboard CPU compatibility list I could see that the equivalent E8400 model would work with my P965 Neo-F V2 as well, and the guy who sold it to me said it would. However, if I understand the compatibility list correctly, the E8400 CPU needs the newest 3.8 BIOS. I've never flashed the BIOS, so it's whatever version it came with (2.1 I think).
Is there any way to get this BIOS on the mainboard without my old CPU? I got a used (but working) E8400 CPU to try with, but it gets stuck at the first boot screen. I can't access the BIOS settings or get a keyboard to work.
Is there anything I can do with my current CPU and mainboard, or do I have to find a CPU that runs on the mainboard, flash the BIOS and then use the new CPU? Am I completely screwed?
    Thank you.

do I have to find a CPU that runs on the mainboard, flash the BIOS and then use the new CPU?
Yes. Original BIOS would have been 3.0
Edit: This is best way to flash BIOS >> USB BIOS flash << Don't use 'Live Update'

  • How to connect SB X-FI XTREME MUSIC with Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5

    Hi,
I want to know what I have to do to connect my x-fi xtreme music with my creative inspire 5. digital 5700 due to listen music with all? 5 twiters. I have windows vista ultimate 32bits. Thanks!?JoanMessage Edited by joanantoni on 07-9-200703:54 AM

With your Inspire 5. Digital 5700, your best bet is?using the analog Front and Rear input connections on the decoder and connect them to the X-Fi Xtreme Music front (Line Out )?and rear (Line?Out 2)?output connections and then enable CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Mode on your Digital 5700 decoder which will then give you a 4./5. Upmix. Gi'ven that you don't have a Center connection on the the Inspire 5. Digital 5700, no connection can made to the your Front Center satelite speaker/Subwoofer (Line Out 3) on your X-Fi Xtreme Music card. I'm led to understand that Creative speaker systems do not need Bass Redirection to reproduce proper Bass frequencies on your Subwoofer and not on your satelite speakers but you may want to test this simply enabling and disabling Bass Redirection, on your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card, to your own personal taste. Alternately, you can concurrently connect your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 via the Coxial Digital/PCM Input to the FlexiJack input/output jack on the X-Fi Xtreme Music and then enable Digital I/O mode for the FlexiJack in the Audio Console found in the Windows Control Panel or?in the Entertainment Mode or Game Mode Consoles. Unfortunately the FlexiJack only provides a 2 conductor connection therefore it only supports 2. Speaker system connections?therefore you will still have to enable the CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Modes on your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 decoder to produce a 4./5. sound upmix. Sadly, no optical connection can be made between your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 and your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card without the installation of the X-Fi I/O Dri've or X-Fi I/O Console at, of course, additional expense. From my standpoint, the X-Fi I/O Dri've is a good value given the number of external inputs and outputs in offers. Again, it's a matter of what your personal connection requirements are and budget. Hope this hel

  • How to get video and audio while chatting with your PC friends.

Just download a program called ivisit.
    http://www.ivisit.com/
Everything else I tried sucked. Nothing worked. Yahoo, MSN, AOL IM... they all crapped out. But ivisit rocked right out of the gate, and you can get it free.
WIth the lite version you get only one connection and it lasts for an hour. After the hour you lose video but audio and chat still works. You have to be disconnected fro the other user for a half hour for the video feed to work again.
But if your itching to connect to your family with your new iSight and all the other big name programs are disapointing you, then one hour is plenty of time.
    ivisit saved my christmas.

I agree. iVisit was a lifesaver. I was regreting getting my iSight until I had a successful connection. It was truly a Macintosh program - easy to setup, intuitive, not too much tech stuff to resort to figure out how things work. I was unhappy with resolution, though. You have to pay to get good resolution.

  • How to get busness connector 4.8 working with EDI

    Hello,
We are being asked to send test XML's from sap to our EDI system (cloverleaf).
To do this, I have setup the SAP business connector 4.8, and it is running and working fine.  We would like to start testing at this point, however, going over the install guides/admin guides, it does not tell us clearly how we can start testing.
After installing the Business Connector, what is the next "BASIS" step in connecting this to SAP?  Are there anymore technical activates involved?  I don't see a whole lot more written?
    Or
Is it all developer activates form here? (i.e. we let them know where the connector is installed, and they start working to putout test EDI's?
Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Richard

    Hi,
you need to go to Admin Page and there select adapters section SAP there you need to create an entry for connecting to the SAP System details like host name..sysno user password..
SAP Alias name will get created and there you can test the connection..

Try running your printer's install program again.  Changes are when you replaced the router, the printer's IP address changed.

  • Can't get Encoded Digital Audio to work with HDMI again

I like to connect my 15" Retina Macbook to my Pioneer VSX-1121-K receiver using a high speed HDMI cable (high speed for 3D). My sound settings for a long time have been very reliable; in Audio Midi Setup I had the HDMI output set to 48 kHz + "Encoded Digital Audio" and had no major issues. My encoded Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 signals were being passed through to the Pioneer receiver just fine.
So then I got Mavericks recently and everything seemed fine for a couple of days; when suddenly, Audio Midi Setup decided it never wants to allow the "Encoded Digital Audio" format to work.
I select VSX-1121 under System Preferences/Sound, but only get the standard blah PCM over the HDMI. Here's the weird part I don't understand: when I go to Audio Midi Setup and change the format from "2ch-24bit Integer" to "Encoded Digital Audio", it automatically switches the sound to Built-In Output and doesn't budge when I tell it to use the HDMI output.
I tried changing the sound effects & alerts to the Pioneer and back to Built-In Output, but that didn't affect anything. I've tried restarting, disconnecting the HDMI and plugging it back in, turning the receiver off/on, turning HDMI Control off/on, tried a different HDMI cable and receiver input -- all no dice.
It won't let me select 96 kHz for the HDMI either. What up with that? I was fooling around with FLACs in 192 and 96 kHz about a month ago with no problems whatsoever, and playing 5.1 DVDs without any of this weirdness. If it's somehow Mavericks' fault I want a big fat patch on this.
Other details: receiver's connected to a Panasonic VT30 that I use as a second screen with the Macbook for movies and stuff. Also have a current model AppleTV connected. I assume they're both not affecting anything.
Any solutions or insights would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem. Took me a while to figure out, but the problem was in the HDMI settings in the receiver, NOT the software.
    My setup:
Macbook Air > Mini Display Port to HDMI converter into Onkyo Receiver > HDMI Out of Onkyo into Panasonic TV.
    Symptoms:
I was getting stereo fine, but not 5.1 (options grayed out etc). You were on the right track; I unplugged the TV which opened up all the multi channel options for HDMI. Turns out the HDMI out settings in the receiver were set to pass Audio to the TV. So the Audio Device Settings on my Mac viewed the TV as the destination device. But as the TV only supports stereo, that's all I could select through Audio Device Settings and VLC etc.
    Solution:
On the receiver I went to Setup > Hardware Settings > HDMI and switched the audio off for HDMI Out. Now the Mac sees the receiver as the final destination and I can select HDMI (Encoded Output) etc. from VLC. That sends proper Dolby Digital 5.1 etc. nicely.
    Note:
I can select all the multi channel options for HDMI in Audio Devices Settings (as supported by my Onkyo Receiver), but I just left mine at 2ch-24 bit. Seems as long as you select Encoded Output in VLC it will send 5.1 perfectly and no issues with regular stereo playback for music.

  • How to get a canon mp620 to work with mac wifi on os 10.5.6

    Hi y'all
This is simply a summary of the steps outlined by PAHU and Kappy on the tiger print & fax page who are the big brains here that explained the steps that worked for me on Mac OS 10.5.6. Thanks and respect to those guys.
First thing to understand is the printer doesnt create its own wifi signal for the mac to pick up ( which is what I was expecting) it hooks up via your home wifi set up for which you need a wireless router. If you don't have that you are in a no go situation and will probably want to kill someone.
So here goes (this may take a while!!)
    1) Got to System Preferences>Internet&Network>Sharing
    check internet sharing
    2) Open Network Utilities in Applications when you are attached to your WiFi network, choose Info (the left most pane) and check what the IP address assigned to your wireless router for your home network. mine came up under Network Interface (en1) and was 192.168.0.1 for the router. You can also check this in System Preferences>Network>Airport>Advanced>TCP/IP. Check the subnet mask there too.
    3) Install the drivers for the Canon MP620 (i tried at first having used the Cd and then downloaded ones from he canon website. Now it works - this is probably relevant. PAHU says you need the Canon IJ Network tool v 2.66 to work!!
    4) Connect the switched on printer via USB.
    5) Go to System Preferences>Print & Fax
and if no Canon MP620 shows up add the printer (click +) and choose Canon MP620 and then click on Open Print Queue. Click Utility in the top right hand quadrant.
    6) Choose the USB pane and the printer should show up in the window. Click on it and click Network Settings button. Now you are in Canon IJ Network Tool - whether you realised it or not.
    7) It should ask you to set up the printer for the network. Choose your home wifi name (SSID) from options and enter the password you normally use. I have a WPA and used TKIP (Basic Encryption).
    8) Now you need to manually set the IP address for the router and the printer. In the TCP /IP section of Canon IJ Network Tool set the Router address to be the same as you found in Network Utility - in my case 192.168.0.1. Set the subnet mask to be 255.255.255.0 (you can double check this by looking in System Preferences>Network>Airport>Advanced>TCP/IP). Still in the TCP /IP section of Canon IJ Network Tool set IP Address to something that is the same as your router address except change the last digit eg I put 192.168.0.10 instead of 192.168.0.1. This will be the IP address allocated to your printer. Click OK and it will tell you it is sending these settings to your printer.
    9) If you have been struggling with this for a while you may need to enter the printer Settings section choose Device Settings and then LAN settings and choose reset LAN settings to start again.
    10) You know you are winning when you chooses Wireless LAN settings list and things look similar to what you entered on the mac. So unplug the USB and on the printer choose change wireless/wired to wireless.
    11) Now go back to System Preferences>Print & Fax and delete the Canon MP620 entry by pressing -. Then press + choose More Printers, wait a while and select MP620 in Canon IJ Network when it shows up or choose Canon IJ Network if you get the option . The printer should be there as MP620 with a numerical address next to it. Choose that. You should be off. (NB Repeat step 11 for any other macs on the network after downloading and installing the printer driver to that mac)
    12) Now when you chooses Wireless LAN settings list on the printer it should say active.
    Print away.
BTW Canon support had absolutely no idea at all to do this although endearingkly the guy admitted that the manual wasnt very helpful........they escalated me to a higher level enquiry and said someone should phone me back. When or if they do I will email them this post!!

    OK
    Scenario 1
    (assumes Mobile Me membership)
Set up Apple Mail in your Mac Pro, iMac, ... and set preferences in Mobile Me to include email stuff
Login to MacBook Pro, Air, ... other iMac, other Mac Pro > enter mobile me stuff there and Bongo! Apple Mail on the second machine synchronizes with stuff set in Apple Mail on first machine.
Turn on the iPhone > Bongo! iPhone Mail will show the same email accounts as on the other two machines described above.
One does not need to re-enter stuff for the sake of it. Mobile Me makes it easy.
On the second machine create a new email account or add an existing one to Apple Mail > Bongo! Details updated on the first machine and also on iPhone.
    Scenario 2
(assumes preferences set in Mobile Me for calendars and contacts)
Create new contacts in each of the three machines (that is the first machine, the second machine and the iPhone) > Bongo! Details will be synched across all three machines (okay, iPhone calls them contacts and the other machines call it Address Book but ... )
Create appointments in Calendar or iCal in ... well, they are synched as well.
    Scenario 3
On a PC, away from each of the three machines detailed above. Need contacts and calendars (yes, iCal and iPhone calendar support multiple calendars with an overview summary of all, yep, ALL calendars.
Fire up Safari on the PC (Safari 4 seems sweet) > go to www.me.com > enter username and password of Mobile Me account > Bongo!
I suppose it may also be a time thing in sense that many people, self included, might recall a time when every calendar needed every detail keying in (other computer operating systems running different applications). Sure there were import/export utilities or thunks bet these tended to be at variance with each other regarding ordering of data fields, field parameters and in my own experience a bad import though swift was less reliable than re-keying in the details.
