How to get rid of blank screen in PS

I'm sure it's something basic but whenever I close a PS file, I end up with an empty frame. Tools and menu bars are there. Very annoying. When I close the file, I want to see my desktop, not a blank PS window. How do you get rid of that blank frame? Thx.

Hey Everyone,
I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.

Hi I was working on my project and I tried to select the beginning of my timeline and all of a sudden this stupid screen to the left pops up...How Do I get rid of it? I tried Revert to original Layout...Closing and opening and trying to grab it but it won't close? Anyone?

How to get rid of full screens that won't go away.

I was using my MacBook Pro with my tv through HDMI. I made a window full screen on my tv ( I was using Blender 3D software and the window on the tv was the same application I had on my screen). When I unplugged the HDMI the full screen window on my tv went onto my MacBook. The problem is that the window from the tv is now full screen on my computer, and there are no options in the tool bar to minimize it. When ever I open this file that window pops up along with the window that was on my screen. It creates lag and I need to get rid of it. I need this file. Please help!

There are 3 ways to exit a fullscreen app:
Escape key
Command+Control+F
Hover the cursor at the top of the screen until the menu bar drops down then clcik the Arrow icon on the top right.
Have you tried plugging it back into the TV?

How to get rid of Facebook "screen" covering Skype...

There are no viruses. You should be able to locate the thing on your drive, as noted above, and get rid of it.
It's hard to understand what you mean by email server or free software update. I'm guessing you mean you updated safari. That wouldn't do anything. If you downloaded something else and installed it, then that would likely be the issue. Find it and toss it out.
If the window appears when you're opening Mail, that would be truly weird. If it appears when using Safari or another browser, then follow the advice I gave.

Satellite A210 PSAFGC - Bios update to get rid of blank screen issue

I also have the blank screen problem and I would like to update my bios from the 1.30 version it came with.
The problem I have is that I have a model A210 part number PSAFGC.
The support bulletin 98082422 for the Bios update doesn't mention my part number exactly and I can't find anything for my model.
The 2 updates are to 1.70 and 1.90. I have read the text from both of these and they seem quite different.
Not sure what to do. Here is the bulletin info.

Update the computer's BIOS to fix this problem, by clicking the appropriate link for your computer model from the following list.
- Satellite A210 / A215, Part No. PSAFGU: BIOS version 1.70

The Satellite *A210 PSAFGC* series seems to be a Toshiba *Canadian* series and I would recommend checking the Toshiba Canadian driver page if you want download the compatible BIOS for your notebook.

Is there anything to do to fix this Ipod myself and make it work again. Can't afford to fix. Only used this for one day and quit working....bought used, but seemed to work great at first.

If you got steady hands, search Youtube "replacing iPod screen"
If you are confident that you can do it, then go to eBay, Amazon and search for iPod LCD screen, taking note of your Model, as the screen comes in different sizes.
Caution! The most difficult part is opening the iPod Casing, most people (95%), on their first try, damage the iPod Casing trying to open it, even with the recommended tools, and 80% damage the internals, putting it back. (broken, cables, clips, click wheel not responding)

How to get rid of menu screen? Video stalls at menu.

Hello,
I am submitting a video for a credential I am working on, and the video must be completely unedited with no menu screen. The best I have been able to do so far is to clear out the titles on a black movie screen (working with a theme in iDvD), and add my video footage onto the back of this. But when I try to play the video I have created in a DVD player, the video will stall on the black menu screen and not proceed to my actual footage unless I press STOP, then PLAY. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable to the organization to which I am submitting my video.
How can I get the video to burn straight from iMovie to the DVD burner (LaCie Lightscribe) without any themes or frames? Or, how can I get it to stop getting stuck on the black menu screen?

In iDVD, you can drag your movie to the box before the menu starts. It will play in full before the menu comes up. You might even be able to totally delete the menu slide once you have done this, but I haven't tried that yet since I usually use a menu.

Extremely slow boot. How to get rid of white screen in Windows only boot.

Hey guys I have a Windows 7 only MacBookPro 17". 2.8ghz core 2 duo, 4 gig of ram, 7200 rpm 500gb hd(passes s.m.a.r.t. btw)
It boots extremely slow. I turn the computer on and it stays at the white screen for around 20 seconds. Then it moves to Windows 7 and continues to boot from there. I have a video:

In a windows only setting how would I get it to just boot Windows without going threw the white screen? It also gets hung when logging in on a black screen.
There was a post on Ubuntu forums about Ubuntu only boots about doing something to get it to only boot the MBR. I didn't really understand if this would work with Windows 7 though. Thanks for any help.

I shut down all but one of the extensions, and that seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you!
Now to figure out which extensions I need, and which I don't, because I don't have a clue. I don't remember installing most of these, I only recall one or two (nothing looks spammy like funmoods, but still don't remember when or why these were added...)

How to get rid of blank space showing above my pages

Hi:
I built my site dyingforthetruth.com using Muse (thanks, it's pretty nifty!), following a video tutorial you provided.
I've ended up with a blank space showing above all pages, and much trying with the blue lines and rebuilding my header strip has NOT succeeded in fixing it.
Here's a snapshot of the top left part of the "main" master, showing the blue lines and the space at the top.
You can see what it looks like on the web by going to the site URL (dyingforthetruth.com).
Can you please tell me how to fix this. I find it a bit strange to see all my pages for this site coming up in all 5 browsers I've tried (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari) with a pronounced gap at the top of them all.

Go to Page> Page Properties and on the "Padding" section set "Top" to 0. That should do it.
If you are on a master page make sure that the top blue arrow is at 0. That arrow controls the top of page, and you need to have a padding of 0 for what you want.

How to get rid of lock screen notifications?

I've tried suggestions found elsewhere(turning off app switcher, etc), but nothing helps. I'm getting FB, message, and other notifications on the screen. It seems worse since I upgraded to iOS 8. Thanks in advance.

Go to Settings>Notifications>select the particular app and turn off Show in Lock Screen.

Try looking at System Preferences: Universal Access: Seeing - to see if one of those settings is what has happened (and can then be reversed).

How to get rid of blank space at end of movie?

I made a 10 minute product tutorial in iMovie HD, shared the movie using expert mode and it took an hour to create the bounce, and at the end of the movie it has a long dead space with strange artifacts there, whereas in the iMovie is all blackness past the last clip. I did not want the dead space to be there, much less the strange colors that appeared.
I know that you can share selected clips, rather than taking another few hours to find out if that method solves the dead space problem, can someone please tell me if hitting Apple>A and selecting the entire strip of clips will export only those clips as one movie, and leave out the long dead space at the end past the last clip?

Possibly solved, checking now. In the clip view there were two clips names 'black' that I was not aware was at the end, this is probably the issue.
