How to get rid of floating object on macbook pro desktop?

After installing Yosemite, I accidentally hit a button while in email that created a floating white bar with email address. It appears "on top of" anything I pull up on screen. Happened again with another email address. Another floating bar. How do I get rid of them? Can't drag them into trash. Hitting "delete" doesn't work either.

Agreed...this is an ongoing and very annoying problem.
Does anyone know how to resolve it permanently?

BTW: This happens on my iMac (OS X 10.10.1). Closing and reopening Mail resolves it, but it's still a nuisance. If it's a "feature" I'm not sure what it would be good for, but I too would like to know what I'm doing to cause it and avoid it if I can.

It may not be malware, a Web scam that only affects your browser, and only temporarily. There are several ways to recover.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press the key combination command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. Press and hold command-W. You may hear repeating alert sounds. While holding the keys, click the OK button in the popup. A different popup may appear, which you can cancel out of as usual.
3. From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
4. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. None of the windows and tabs will reopen.
After closing the malicious page, from the menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.

One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.

Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

I reported to the Police & they asked me to provide them with it's serial number. Unfortuantelly i don't have any paper that has it's serial number !!!
My MacBook is registered with Apple. Is there a way to get it's serial number if i have the userName and password of it's registration ?
Can anyone advice how to get it's serial number other than the usual way ?

You can try calling Apple but I don't think they will give out serial numbers for products, even if you claim to be the owner of them. There's just no way to verify over the phone that you are the original, rightful owner. But you can always try
Also, Do you have credit card receipts from the time you purchased the MacBook? If so, go to the retailer and see if they can produce the receipt of purchase. This should have a serial number on it, or at least a reference.

The only real solution is to change your password and keep it safe. Whenever someone uses imessage on your account you should get an email from apple so you will know. Don't give out passwords if you don't want people to take advantage of it.
