Hi Anthonybow12,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are unable to access your iPod touch because it is in Recovery Mode (icon screen instructing you to connect to iTunes), you may find the following article helpful:

  • How to get rid of iTunes 9 Tutorials welcome screen

EVERY time I open iTunes on my new iMac, I get the iTunes 9 tutorial splash screen. I haven't seen any option to prevent this from happening, so I suspect it's a bug. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I get rid of it?

There isn't, though I expect that there should be.
I think this may be related to the migration assistant? I restored from a time machine backup of the same model iMac that I had to return. The computer with this problem is the replacement.
I'll attach a screenshot later so that someone will actually believe me

  • How to get rid of iTunes match artefacts on iPhone?

After using iTunes match with iTunes on Windows, I've decided that I wanted to have full control of what is synced to my iPhone4 and disabled iTunes Match on the iPhone. I'm using a secondary iTunes library on my PC now to sync with the phone while I still have iTunes match in place for use with my Apple TV.
Problem is, that after disabling iTunes match on the iPhone, it still shows leftover iTunes match contents, e.g. in the Albums list of the music application. The problem existed with iOS 5.0 and is still there after upgrade to iOS 5.1.
Is there any way for me to get rid of the iTunes match artefacts on the iPhone? They are also dysfunctional, i.e. cannot be downloaded, played, etc...
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

After reading https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3593632? my problems are still the same:
I cannot delete the iTunes match albums from the phone similiar to not being able to play them
I cannot disable "show all music" as that would require me to enable iTunes match again on the phone which is what I don't want
I'm thinking about trying to re-enable, change the setting, wipe the albums, disable again and then sync with local library. I'll report after testing..

  • How to enable disk use on an iPod in "recovery mode"?

I am trying to enable disk use on my iPod classic 80GB to recover lost files. One day out of the blue, 12 days worth of music vanished from my iPod, and as my laptop that stored all of my music was stolen a few months earlier, I need to manually recover the files by first enabling disk use (at least according to the various tutorials I have read online).  There should be a box you can check or uncheck in the summary of the iPod when it's plugged in, but on my iTunes, all it shows in the summary is "iPod recovery mode" and underneath a "Restore iPod button".  Is the "enable disk use" option not available because it is in recovery mode or am I just missing something?

    AFAIK this is the case...

  • How to get Artwork from iTunes onto iPod

    Hi everybody.
I have uploaded quite a few Artworks in my iTunes and now have it set at: "Automatically download missing album artwork"
    This works wonders, but...
How can I get it on my iPod as well? It doesn't seem to sinq by itself and when connecting the iPod I can't do the same in the iPod Library?
I have set my iPod on manual as I have way more songs on my iPod then on my comp.
So, how can I get the arwork from my iTunes Library onto my iPod library?
    Many thanx
(have Windows and an 30G Video iPod)

If the artwork is assigned to the songs in your iTunes, then it's added to the iPod when you transfer those songs.
If you connect the iPod then click on the 'music' tab, you will see the option to:
"display album artwork on your iPod". Make sure that is enabled.

  • How to get songs from itunes to ipod shuffle

I just seem to be having problems finding anything I download in itunes on my ipod shuffle. I am not techo savy at all!

If your shuffle is 3rd or 4th (current) gen, here's how to use the automatic syncing approach, which is often more convenient than the manual method.  You probably need to set up (or update) the shuffle's Music tab in iTunes.
Select the shuffle in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.  This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync your shuffle.
Check the box for Sync Music.  If your entire iTunes music library fits on the shuffle, you can choose to sync Entire music library (and skip to next paragraph).  Otherwise, choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that, create a selection of songs to sync to the shuffle.  For example, if you want to keep it simple, you can create a new regular playlist in iTunes (call it "iPod Songs").  Put all songs you want on the shuffle on that playlist (including those recent downloads).  On the Music tab, find and checkmark that one playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, the selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the shuffle, replacing its existing content.  Going forward, any changes to your iTunes music library, related to the Music tab settings, sync automatically the next time you connect the shuffle, or when you click the Sync button.  So, if you have a playlist with your "iPod songs," just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes syncs the same changes to the shuffle at the next opportunity.

  • How to get rid of iTunes??!!

According to a Google search, iTunes has exhibited an undesireable history of popping up on the Dock, if not opening and beginning to play music, since at least 2006.  Apparently, Apple has no answer.  As I got tired of closing iTunes many (30-40) times a day, I deleted it - the radio quits when I turn the knob in the off position!
NOW, iTunes can't be removed from the trash bin..."because the item iTunes is in use."  Is there any way to make this nightmare go away?

After an overnite reboot, I was able to delete both programs.  I had earlier addressed the permissions issue and unlocked - apparently, a reboot caused iTunes to stop running.  At least iTunes is no longer popping up or starting music every 10 minutes.
The REAL issue here was iTunes repeatedly opening itself, and the fact that hundreds of users have had this issue for at least six years.  With $100 billion in cash, perhaps they could hire just one technical advisor to work on this issue??????
You're correct, Mike, there is a cause, and if you do an internet search, you will find everything from an iPod or iPad or iPhone being conected (none of which I own); a lose audio cable, a corrupted plist file.  To use your term, there's been a lot of drilling by great, helpful users, like yourself...but Apple has yet to weigh in...and that's a travesty for such a well-intentioned company.

  • Hello, I have un Ipod classic of 160GB. On my itunes it displays that I have 113gb of other that occupies my memories! what is this other and how I get rid of it?

Hello, I have un Ipod classic of 160GB. On my itunes it displays that I have 113gb of other that occupies my memories! what is this other and how I get rid of it?

"Other" is the measure of used space on the iPod not taken up by Audio, Video & Photos. This includes the iPod's library and artwork plus any files you may have copied to your iPod in disk mode. The overhead for the library & artwork data is typically 1-2% of the size of the media, e.g. for 1Gb of Audio & Video expect to have around 15mb of "Other". This information is needed for the iPod's operation and cannot be removed.
If you have significantly larger amounts of "Other", not related to files you've intentionally placed on the iPod, then these are probably disconnected copies of your media files or iPod libraries left over from failed sync operations. The only way to recover the space is to do a full restore.
If you have copies of all your media in your iTunes library this isn't a problem, but if you've been manually managing the content then you might need to try to recover the files from it first. See this post by forum regular Zevoneer on transferring files from the iPod to your computer. Some of the tools rely on the iPod having a healthy library however the manual method mentioned towards the end of the post should work regardless.

You can reduce the size to normal, which is about 1GB, by restoring the phone.
Backing Up, updating, and restoring your iPhone and iPod touch software
The size of this part can increase when something goes wrong during a sync, or some files can't be read anymore by iTunes.

    Restore
Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure toback up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.
How to restore your iPod:For Windows:
    1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
    3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. If the iPod's display doesn't show "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" you may need to put the iPod into disk mode to proceed.
    4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
    5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
    7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.
    For Mac:
