  • How to get rid of iPhone in iTunes

I accidently connected an iPhone with a Mac I do not want to synch with. Now when opening iTunes this iphone always apears and shows up inside the device list. How can I just get rid of this device without touching / loosing any datsa on the device itself?
    Many thanks.

If all it is doing is sitting there, then there is no danger to any content unless you start a sync.
But one way to stop it wirelessly connecting at all would be to switch off wifi on the phone while you have iTunes open on your Mac.

  • How to get rid of new version itunes and go back to older version

I DO NOT LIKE THE NEW VERSION OF ITUNES
HOW DO I GET RID OF OT AND GO BACK TO OLDER VERSION

You can get closer to the old look with ctrl-b to turn on the menu bar and ctrl-s to turn on the sidebar, then select Artists from the selection of views across the top.
If you still want to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer from here, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • HT1417 how to get rid of duplicates in itunes 11

I cannot find where to get rid of duplicates in the new version of itunes, which I cannot stand.  Can I go back to the old one, where it would let you find duplicates and delete them?

OK I understand. Many of the old iTunes 10 features are still present, but they have been hidden by default.
Bring back your Sidebar with control S and your menu bar with control B. There are icons for them but the control keys are easier to describe.
The View menu will then be visible, where you can customize your viewing preferences and make it appear a little more familiar.
You don't have to remove the old version to update it.
Reverting to iTunes 10 is possible but very tedious.

  • How to get rid of censorship in iTunes

    Hey People.
I'm getting more and more annoyed on iTunes censoring every word that vaguely reminds of a slang for a swearword.
I Can live with the censorship in the iTunes-store, but when iTunes censors files I add to the library, it's getting out of hand.
Is there any way to turn the censorship off. That will really make my day
-Thanks in advance for any help.

but when iTunes censors files I add to the library
Sorry, but iTunes is not that smart.
It does not censor anything. Files you add are exactly as they ar ebefore you added them.

  • How to get rid of songs in iTunes

I deleted from my library lots of songs and then deleted them when they were in trash can, but then when I later look at my library it's still there for some reason?
I feel bad because I spent a lot of time picking out and deleting those files.

    Hi,
Just open iTunes and select Player List ... select the song(s) you don't like anymore and ... right click and select DELECTE.

    nevermind... please delete if possible.

There are four icons in the bottom right of the screen, the furthest one in hides and unhides it. Alternatively if you prefer keyboard shortcuts, Shift-command-M toggles the ministore pane on and off. You can't actually delete it

I have a 3rd generation ipod that a friend gave me. I cannot find anything on how to get rid of his name and music on it. This is what the owners manual says:
"Select ipod nano in the soiurce list and click the summary tab" I cannot find the source or the summary tab on itunes. Can any one help me? I would like to delete everything on it and start over but I am afraid I cannot add anything back on it. I know this is detailed and a lot, but I really need help.

    Restore
Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure toback up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.
How to restore your iPod:For Windows:
    1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
    3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. If the iPod's display doesn't show "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" you may need to put the iPod into disk mode to proceed.
    4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
    5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
    7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.
    For Mac:

Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with latest iPod Software version on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with latest iPod Software version on your computer.
    6. A message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator's name and password.
    7. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
    8. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. I am trying to use Words with friends on my iphone 5.  How do I get rid of   "Connect to itunes to Use Push Notifications

Reading some older threads from 2012 and 2011 it appears the problem was present even then.  Part of the problem was due to people using multiple or different account id's on the various devices.  In my case, I only have one ID and it is the same on all devices yet the iPhone and iPad are still throwing the same error when I try turning on iTunes Match.  This is very frustrating . . . any help out there?  Thanks.

having this problem when trying to authorise an newly downloaded app in iTunes

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.

You can reduce the size to normal, which is about 1GB, by restoring the phone.
Backing Up, updating, and restoring your iPhone and iPod touch software
The size of this part can increase when something goes wrong during a sync, or some files can't be read anymore by iTunes.
