How to get slow playback speed with video

Hi. Newbie to the forums. hope you can help.
Can I put a control in flash that allows users to alter the
playback speed of a video clip? I am making a tutorial (with sound)
and I want the students to be able to run the video in slow motion
and then gradually increase the speed as they become more
confident.
Any ideas?

Thanks. I checked out the web site, and although it only refers to FCP, I assume "Film Effects" is compatible with FCE HD v3 as well.

When I hit the OC Genie button it gives me 3.54GHz. Is there anyway to get to 4.0GHz with my setup.
Have not changed any settings myself all was done with the OC Genie button
My temps are around 42' with fans on lowest settings

How to get a "film" look with video

I'm hoping someone can help me find a thread from the archives that I had seen recently, but now cannot find.
The process that was described included "doubling" the video track, then offsetting V2 by one frame (?) then de-interlacing....or something like that.
If that sounds familiar to anyone, and if you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I can't remember if it had been a thread in the "FCE" discussions or "Pro Video" section, but I can't seem to find it in my searches.

Very slow download speeds with ATT U-Verse

Hello,
Experiencing very slow download speeds with Macbook Pro 2011, on Lion, and ATT UVerse Max, which should allow for an avg. 11-12 MBPS speed. Instead, I get a fluctuating 60-370 kbps speed. I am not experiencing this problem on my Windows machines (Laptop running Windows 7 and Desktop on XP), it is only affecting the Macbook pro. I wonder if this issue is a known problem with ATT U-Verse and Macs, I spent hours yesterday with their support online and they couldn't help me, stating that from their side all settings were OK; the first representative from ATT re-booted the router remotely and that seemed to work for about 10 minutes, and then it went back to a crawling speed...
Any suggestions welcome!

Do you have QOS enabled in your router? Did you try plugging the win7 laptop directly and check the speed?

On my Firefox, the spacebar skips down a screenful at a time, like the PgDn key. When that repeats, it's certainly going to cover a lot of ground, and a lot faster than the down arrow key. But pressing the spacebar a few times can be efficient if you don't hold it down continuously.

Has anyone figured out how to get speech recognition working with sticky keys enabled on mountain lion?

I'm trying to use speech recognition to input text on my iMac running the latest mountain lion, 10.8.3.
I have sticky keys enabled.
When I try to start speaking by pressing the function key twice nothing happens. I can only get it to work if I disable sticky keys.
The same problem occurs with all the other modifier keys as shortcut, they do not work with sticky keys.
When I try to select a different shortcut, I am unable to select a two key combination, but am limited to one.
If I select the F6 key, or any other single key, I am able to start speech recognition. However the second time that I press the key, it does not stop recognition and process my words. Instead, it restarts the recognition.
Has anyone figured out how to get speech recognition working with sticky keys enabled?
Or a way to get an individual key shortcut to start on the first press and process it on the second?
Or a way to get key combinations to work, as specified by the help:

When you’re ready to dictate text, place the insertion point where you want the dictated text to appear and press the Fn (function) key twice. When you see the lighted microphone icon and hear a beep, the microphone is ready for you to speak your text.

I noticed with version 10.8.4 of OS X that I am now able to select F6 to activate, and the return key to complete the speech recognition. This is still different than the description of how these should function that's included in the help, but at least it's an improvement.

I would suggest if you have the opportunity to take the basics 1 and 2 classes offered by NI and select integrators. Otherwise there are books by Bishop and Johnson that will give you a great start with LV. If you need any info on classes please let me know. hope this helps.

In the context create an attribute of type string .
Create the attribute in the node which you bind for table.
In the layout .
1.create a Table UI element.
2 create binding for UI element.
3Right click on the Table UI and select insert table column.
4.once the table column is inserted right click on table column and select insert cell editor.
5.create the cell editor of the type image.
6.Bind the source property of the image to the attribute in the node which you have created.
so depending on what image(type of icon) needs to be displayed set the attibute accordingly.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a thought bubble with video playing inside it using premiere. I'm trying to create a video for an assignment and i want it to start off with someone dreaming and have the thought bubble pop up with their dream then have it fade into the dream video. It looks like you're right at the edge of the 10Mbps service limit for your copper line, as your margins are low and the line speed is incorrect.
Do you have access to a NID? If so, can you plug your modem into your NID's test jack and pull up the new statistics it shows? The NID can often times be found outside on the side/rear of your home, near your electrical panel/meter or on a pole near the street (uncommon for the last one).

How to get slow motion with 720/60p material in Premiere Pro CS5.5

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to learn how to get a slow-motion effect with material that has been shot in 60p (59.94fps).
I imported that material (AVCHD-codec) into Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and created a new sequence with 25 fps. Still, the material is in normal speed in playback. no slow motion...
Can anyone tell me whether I missed out on something really simple :-) ? Or is the whole thing more complicated than I thought?

Ok, it's weird to answer my own post, yet I learned how to do it and in case someone else is just starting up, it might be helpful:
import the 60p footage into premiere, rightclick onto it in your footage-list and got to modify > interpret footage. there you can enter your desired framerate (in my case 25fps) and click "ok". then right click on the footage again and choose "new sequence from clip" and now you have a 25fps-sequence with true slow motion footage.
