How to get songs onto my ipod?

after downloading songs on limewire, i transferred them onto my itunes library. now i want to put them on my ipod, but i dont know how to do this. before i got my new computer, my itunes would automatically transfer the songs from my itunes library to my ipod library, but now it doesnt do that...

Connect the iPod to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync the music that you want on your iPod

My dad has itunes on his PC. I don't have my own but I recently have an iPad mini and an iPod. I don't know how to get songs onto itunes on the PC, using a different account or at least private/ separate..
So how do I create a separate I tunes on a PC which already has itunes... Or if not can I plug my iPad to the PC and use itunes on my iPad, and drag mp3s from a computer.
I'm not sure what the equivalent of a desktop is on the iPad.. And I don't actually know how to use the icloud either...
Can anyone start me off, given it have a iPad and use of a PC - not mine with existing iplayer
I do have spotify soundcloud so I could potentially use these.. If there is a route of getting either mp3's etc to end up on my iPad or iPod.
    Kind Regards

It's possible that it did actually add the game but you're not seeing it in iTunes. Go to iTunes Preferences > General and make sure there's a checkmark next to iPod games.

  • How to get songs onto new PC

Alright, my old PC completely crashed, with my iTunes and everything on it. I've got my iPod mini now (with my Mac) but the problem is I have no clue how to get all my songs from my iPod onto my computer. I don't want to have to load all of the songs from my CDs and rebuy them from Apple again... and I don't know if I'll be able to access my old PC again. Is there anyway to get my iPod mini songs onto the Mac?

  • How to get podcasts onto my ipod so I can see what's going on?

    Hi,
My G3 15GB ipod with version 2.3 on it...
My podcasts sync over from itunes OK. But by the time they get onto my iPOD its really hard to see what's what.
The ipod shows a "Podcasts" playlist. But really they are not presented in an elegant way. What I get is a long list. Grouped by the podcast. But not in the same order as they are on my itunes. I can't figure out what order they are in - some podcasts seem to be oldest to newest, but others are all jumbled up. Perhaps its to do with download order or something.
Worse is that a 3G screen isn't that big, and most of the titles are completely non-unique. So I can't tell which episode is which. So right now I have 5 titles that say "iTunes New Music T...", 5 that say "Update Wizard 200...", 5 "Inside Mac Radio - ...". What good is that?
I'm looking for suggestions as to how to organise this so I can see what's happening. What I'd like is:
    - a top level that just has the podcast title,
    - a second level for each podcast with the episodes
    - I'd like to see the episode date rather than, or as well as, the title.
Lastly, I'd really like ability to create a "listening program" for me - a "smart playlist" - basically a playlist that will take me through my new podcasts. that would make it easier to hear the new stuff in the car without having a crash whilst trying to figure out what is what on my ipod.
Suggestions would be welcome. Apple, I think you really could do better on this one.
    Steve

I have ordered a USB3 BluRay/DVD/CD player/burner and will use that both with my iMac ( in which the Superdrive seems to be failing ) and the MBPro Retina I just bought .

  • How to get songs on my ipod back in my itunes

it's a little complicated, but i got a new computer. my old one completly crashed. i had a huge itunes libary on my old one, and all the songs on my ipod. i just installed my itunes on the new computer, but how do i get the songs on my ipod (that used to be in my itunes) back into my libary? First: DO NOT attach & sync your full iPod to an empty iTunes!!!
These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…

    TuneJack Software (Windows)
Senuti (Mac OS X v10.3 or higher Recovery Utility)
XPlay (Windows software For Music Recovery &/or Cross-Platform Functionality)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
Extremely Simple & Free Method: (just to recover the song files – may not work on a Mac)
    1 - Open iTunes
    2 - Edit=>Preferences=>’Advanced/General’ tab
2a --- Select ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library’: checked
2b --- Select ‘Keep iTunes Music folder organized’: checked
2c --- Click OK to store changes
3 - Attach your iPod to the PC and hold down the ‘Shift+Ctrl’ keys until the iPod is fully recognized (this will defeat the auto-sync process)
4 - If you get a dialog box to link the Library, decline this option
5 - Within iTunes: Edit=>Preferences=>’iPod’ tab: switch iPod to ‘Manually manage songs & playlists’ – click ‘OK’
    6 – Eject iPod
7 – Close iTunes, then reopen iTunes and attach the iPod (it’s in manual sync now)
    8 – File=>Add Folder
9 - Browse to and open ‘My Computer’ (click on the ‘+’) and select the iPod (or the lower ‘\iPod_Control’ sub-folder)
    10 - Click OK
-- The music files should start to transfer back into iTunes with its correct information
–-- This will take some time depending on your PC’s speed and the amount of songs on the iPod
No Playlists, or Ratings, Last Played, & Play Count attributes will be transferred from the iPod to iTunes using this method.
If you have problems with seeing the iPod within 'My Computer', try again switching your update method to 'manual', detach the iPod, then reconnect the iPod to the PC.
After recovering your Library, strongly consider developing a thorough and frequent backup strategy for just this type of situation (and many other potential disasters).
You need at least two full sets of your music, not including what is on the iPod:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and only one other medium is not considered having any backup.
If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer’s internal HD, then create and maintain at least two external sets (any multiple combinations of ExHDs, DVDs, CDs).
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?
Here is a post on developing a thorough Backup Strategy

  • I cant get songs onto the ipod nano

ok so ive had this thing since xmas and i had like 235 songs on it.
and it was a 2 gb, and with 235 songs, it was full.
so i thought, well maybe if i just delete some i can put new songs on.
i delete like 50 songs so i can put some on and i didnt know how to get it all back on the nano.
somehow, i accidentally deleted the playlist that had every song in my library from my ipod.
and now i dont have anything on the ipod.
i try and sync it all back on but it says this:
"Songs on the iPod "Matts iPod" cannot be updated because all of the the playlists selected for syncing no long exist"
so i try and make a new playlist, and it STILL wont sync.
oh and i went to "About" on my ipod when it was empty and it said i could have 1.7 GB but it said i only had 1 GB available.
can someone explain this to me?

Use the instructions in this article to add that playlist to the playlists set to be synchronized to the iPod, or change the iPod's synchronization mode.

  • How to get songs from old iPod to new one

Hi. Today I just bought a new iPod Nano. I have a mini, but I want the songs already on the mini to transfer to the nano. Is there anyway I could do this? If so, how?<<br>
    PC   Windows XP   Gateway

    There are two possibilities:
    1) after putting music on your mini you've been erasing it from your computer
    2) the music on your mini is still on the computer
If you erase music after putting it on your iPod, you'll need to download a program that copies songs from the iPod and puts it on the computer. Go to your favorite download site and search on the word iPod. You'll find several choices. Once you've downloaded and used the program go on to the next paragraph.
So your music is on the computer, it is cataloged by iTunes, and arranged in playlists. Great! If your music collection is small enough to fit on the nano, just plug the nano in and sync. If the collection is too big, you'll either want to manually manage it or create one or more playlists just for the nano and set iTunes to automatically sync just those playlists.

  • How to get songs on my iPod to show up in iTunes

I have an iPod mini. When I connect to my Windows Vista computer, my iPod shows up in iTunes but it will not show a list of the songs. I click on the tabs at the top for Summary, Music etc, but no song list. There are songs on my iPod so the problem is not that there is no music. Any suggestions?

Select the iPod in the source list on left side of screen.

  • Since itunes has been updated I can't see how to load songs onto my ipod using playlists, can anyone point me in the right direction??
