    Your iPad and iPhone should already have Tamil fonts.  Can you really not see a web page like this one?
    http://ta.wikipedia.org/
    There is however no keyboard yet.  If that is what you are talking about, search the app store for "tamil" to see if there is a keyboard app which might be useful for some purposes.  Also try the Keyman app.
    You can ask Apple for a Tamil keyboard via

    Sets or modifies the valid output format for list output statements (WRITE, ULINE).
    The formats set by FORMAT are effective from the next output operation to the list, i.e. from the next WRITE command or from the next new line.
    The addition ON for switching on the relevant output format is optional.
    You can also set the static additions ON, OFF and n (for COLOR) dynamically with = var (for further information, see end of this documentation).

  • Can't figure how to get larger fonts in terminal

    I too have experienced the "agony of defeat" with fonts and xterm.  Here is how I use to launch my xterm:
    xterm -fa "andale:size=18" -bg black -fg white -geometry 80x25 -tn xterm-color -sl 1000
    * The key is the "size" parameter after the font (fa)mily name.  I was using True Type fonts and was using "andale" in this case.  I believe the size field should be applicable to whichever font you choose.  Alternatively, I believe you can pass the "-fs" option to xterm to accomplish the same thing as ":size".
    For example,
    xterm -fa "andale" -fs "18"
    will accomplish the same text size as in the first example.  Just try different font size (fs) values, and see which values will actually scale for that font.
    One caveat, I believe the "fa" option for xterm is limited to the freetype library fonts.

  • How to view Tamil font in firefox? I need help in this regard.

    I am using Firefox version 6.0.2 on Mac OS 10.5.8. I need to view "Tamil" Font in firefox. I have downloaded the Tamil font and installed in Mac OS X. But I am unable to view the same. It shows junk characters.
    The same "Tamil" font was viewed perfectly in PC firefox version. Kindly help me on this regard.

    You can do a check for corrupted fonts and other font issues:

  • How to get a font in PS?

    i have a font that shows up in my text edit files--which suggests it's on my Mac.  but it doesnt show up in photoshop font options.  how do i get it in there?
    thank you!

    You just install the font in the OS.
    Photoshop picks up the fonts from the OS.
    If the font file is corrupt, it may show up in some applications and not others (especially those that check for corrupt fonts, like Adobe applications).

  • How to get reasonable font size with higher screen resolution

    I'm using my new Mac Mini as living room PC with 42" plasma screen and tv itself seems to support quite well the 'better' resolutions like 1024x768. Unfortunately then text is too small to read from sofa (which is about 3 meters away from tv). I have switched back to 800x600 resolution where font sizes are almost ok but many programs complaint about the resolution (e.g. Google Earth) and need to change the resolution back and worth to get some OK button pressed which is glumsy.
    I have also found pretty good Tinkertool to finetune font sizes but it does not affect all font sizes like I want. So question is there any better solution how I could find theme that suites better for living room purpose (have not find any theme possibilities for MacOSX). In Linux I could finetune X fontserver, in WIndows I could fine tune the theme used to have bigger fonts, how do I do it in this cool mac?

    I hear you! I would also like to see an answer for this. I am running Leopard on a Mac Mini on my 50 inch display in the living room. I have set the resolution to 1080p so that the video and photos are as sharp as possible. (man the videos look great)...
    But, I have a very hard time reading the menu bar, as well as safari and mail from this machine. I realize that there are ways to increase the font sizes, but:
    1) when I restart safari, I have to change the settings each time
    2) when I restart mail, I have have to change the setting each time
    3) I cannot figure out a way to make the menu bar larger
    I really don't want to bring the mac mini down to a resolution like 800X600 - I think it would look horrible on the large screen.
    What is a big screen lover to do?
    Any help would be most appreciated...
    Cheers!

  • CS2- How to get the fonts used in a document ?

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell how to find the the fonts used in the document directly without iterating through the text art used in the document.BCOZ if i iterate through each text frame or character my plugin works very slowly.I want to speed up the process of finding & replacing the fonts like wat we do manually in the "Type-> Find Font" menu thru my code.
    Please post ur comments on this .If there is no direct option to find &replace the fonts used in the document ,pls let me know the simplest logic of finding & replacing all occurances of a font in a doc so that my process of doing this should be faster.
    Thanks in advance.
    myRiaz

    As far as I know, there's no way to get a list of fonts in use in a document without iterating over the document and compiling a list by asking every piece of art.
    If you want to trigger 'Type > Find Font' there might be a way to invoke that using Actions (AIActionManager.h). I'm not sure if that would help or not though.
    This probably isn't very helpful depending on what you're doing, but I think this is meant to be handled by using character styles. That way you can change a style and update any related text instantly. Not much help though if you're just trying to write a S&R font plugin.

  • How to get crispy fonts using icewm

    Icewm doesn't produce the same crispy Verdana fonts in thunderbird and firefox, xfce shows (in Arch). I'm very glad with the quality in xfce (I selected antialias off, autohinter on and rgb full). This is my ~/.fonts.conf according to the gentoo-wiki. Should I replace rgba by rgb? How do I set the full rgb?
    Edit: I tried rgb, to no avail.
    In xfce I selected Verdana as a default font for the desktop; how to set it in icewm or in the .fonts.conf?
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">

        <match target="font">
               <edit name="autohint" mode="assign"><bool>true</bool></edit>
           </match>
    <!-- Antialias off -->

    Edit: If I leave the Autohinter fraction, xfce doesn't have crisp fonts.

    Now it works (which means: Icewm and nice crispy fonts):

  • How do get outlined fonts to show up in a PDF

    I have created a document in InDesign CS4 using a placed Illustrator CS4 file that includes a logo created with outlined fonts. I get the warningj message "The preset specifies that some fonts are not embedded. This application always imbeds fonts." in the Export Adobe PDF dialogue. The outlined text / logo is not visable in the PDF. The same document with the same link works fine in InDesign CS.

    AaHa, the outlined element is not visible in ID in Overprint Preview. Is that the same as Preview Mode? It is on top of a placed Photoshop image that uses transparency (Multiply). This element was previously a white EPS file created in Illustrator on a MAC ten years ago and I converted it to an AI CS4 file in Windows 7 and then filled with PMS 4485.
    Checking and un-checking Overprint Fill in AI's Attributes Panel makes no difference; Stroke Fill is checked, but grayed out?
    Thanks.

    When dealing with text frames that contain multiple styles such as different fonts, kerning or point sizes etc. You need to split the text frame into text runs.
    Using an ITextRunsIterator you can essentially split the text frame into a list of uniquely-styled text ranges.

                AIArtHandle art = NULL;
                sAIArtSet->IndexArtSet(artSet,index,&art);
                sAITextFrame->GetATETextRange(art,&trRef);
                ATE::ITextRange textRange(trRef);
                ATE::ITextRunsIterator textRunsIterator(textRange.GetTextRunsIterator());
                while (textRunsIterator.IsNotDone())
