It's not My way. You said you had Windows Only installed on your Mac, NO OS X at all, and how do you get the drivers for it. I explained how to do that. If you want to install Mac OS X back on the system then you will remove Windows when doing that.
Windows can be installed all by itself on a Mac, which is what I think you have now, or you can have OS X first then by using boot camp assistant install Windows in it's own partition and have both OS X and Windows on your Mac. But if you first install Windows, all by itself (No OS X), then the only way to install OS X is to format the drive which will remove the Windows install.
So the question is What Do "YOU" want to do? Have OS X all by itself? Have Windows all by itself? Or have both OS X and Windows on your Mac.

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the film studio allows it, you might also be able to re-download it on your Mac via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.

Using windows command line tools i want to get the drive letter of a volume, by specifying its volume number.
For example i have a HDD with 2 volumes: Volume-0 and Volume-1
I want to set a Variable say 'Letter'=<Drive Letter> such as
SET Letter=<Command> <Volume Number>
Is there any command which can do this for me...

You can use the diskpart tool to assign a drive letter to the drive by specifying the volume's number.
1.Open Command Prompt.
2.Type:diskpart
3.At the DISKPART prompt, type:list volume
Make note of the number of the simple volume whose drive letter you want to assign, change, or remove.
4.At the DISKPART prompt, type:select volume n
Select the volume, where n is the volume's number, whose drive letter you want to assign, change, or remove.
5.At the DISKPART prompt, type one of the following:assign letter=L
Where L is the drive letter you want to assign or change.

Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.

Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.

One of those moments I printed out a worksheet in excel. My question is am I able to scan the printouts and get the info into my MacBook Air excel, or by any other means. If you can fire it up long enought to print, surely you can copy the documents to a flash drive in less time. Keep trying.
Scanning spreadsheets and using OCR is going to be tough, nevermind getting any formulas.
If the Hard Drive is not the cause of your maladies, then I would use a USB drive adapter to copy the files to your MBA. The cost of an adapter is around $25-$30. I'd say it beats the heck out of trying to make use of printouts. I use an Apricorn Drive adapter. Since you don't menti0on the cause of the system crash, I can only guess and probability says its the drive though, for which this won't work.

I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.

I have iTunes on an old pc and am thinking of buying a MacBook Air. I am wondering how to get the content of my iPad on to the Mac as I know that sync only happens in one direction, from pc to device. I assume therefore that when I attach my pad to the new Mac it will sync to an empty iTunes and I will have lost all the content of my pad. I know I can restore purchases, but what about contacts, calendar, photos and music not purchased from apple. I have a fairly recent backup on a pen drive but it is a usb2 device and is formatted for a pc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do I copy my media library or from a backup. I have a backup on my pc and on an external drive. This drive is usb2 and formatted for windows so I can't connect it to a MacBook Air to make the transfer. Equally I don't think there is a way to connect the 2 computers via a cable ie usb2 one end and usb3 the other. Will the computers talk to each other via wifi if I enable home share although I think this is only for music which still leaves contacts, mail etc.

Go to system profiler and report back the amount of RAM that you have.
Make sure that you have at least 20% of your hard drive free.
Make sure you don't have a lot of items on your desktop as that can slow things down.
Quit applications that aren't responding or you aren't using and won't be using for a while.
~/Library/Caches Quit all applications and delete this folder. Do a regular delete then do a secure erase on all the items that won't delete.
If it only happens with a certain application (Safari for example)...
1. Quit the application (Safari)
2. Open ~/Library/Preferences and find the file for safari (com.apple.Safari.plist).
3. Put the file in the trash. Do NOT empty the trash yet. Open the application and make sure everything's ok. Now you can delete the file. In Mail if you trash the file, you will get rid or your setup.
Make sure that your dashboard doesn't have too many widgets and use Activity Monitor to see what it's using.
There are ways to disable if you want to.
Make sure that all of your software is up to date.
Repair permissions (it can't hurt)
Don't have a lot of login items.
Your internet browser shouldn't have a lot of extensions.

Well then when you erased your hard drive, your erased the Recovery partition, also.
Use Internet Recovery to either restore from your Time Machine backup or reinstall the OS if you don't have a TM Backup.
It will install the OS that shipped on that Mac. You can then upgrade via the App Store.
