How to get the language of the running InDesign?

Hi,
in my CS3 VB Script there is a a statement:
myParaStyle.KerningMethod = "Optical"
this code runs unter CS3 with English and German version of InDesign unchanged.
Now, with CS4, InDesign wants as parameter the strings "Optical" for Englissh, and "Optisch" for the German version.
How do I find out the language, InDesign is runnung?
P.S. Why is the parameter implementet as string and not as Identifier?

In JS you can use a locale-independent string:
myParaStyle.kerningMethod = "$ID/Optical"
Maybe it will work in VB...

Hi Enrico,
The language settings are held on the user's Windows profile and not in the database. In SBO 2007A onwards there is an XML file that is created by the SBO client (previous versions stored the information in the registry). The file is called b1-current-user.xml and you'll find it in the temporary application data under the user's profile (by default this will be C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One for Windows XP). This XML file contains a node that looks like the following:
<leaf kind="single" name="Language" type="String">
     <value>8</value>
</leaf>
where the value is the language id that should correspond to the same setting in the DI API. If your application will always run on a workstation where the SBO client is installed then you could read this XML file. Of course, this file may not exist for a particular Windows user if they have never opened the SBO client so you'd need to have a default setting.
If you application will be installed on a workstation which doesn't have an SBO client installed on it then there is no way to tell what default language to use and you'll need to build this logic in to your own application (eg have a screen where the user can choose their preferred langauge and then store this as a config file in a similar way to how the SBO client works).

Do to the complexity of the program we need to run it with sequences. This is because we need to aquire data with DAQ until it reaches a certain point and then stop collecting so that it can do its process (only once for all times criteria is met), and then loop around till again collecting after DAQ drops back below certain point looking to once again reach that point. Another flat sequence is going outside of this where I want to put the prompt and have a user input to affect how many times that that the inner loop is run (No a For Loop instead of the while loop will not work either for other reasons).
I just want to know if after the program starts you can have a user input that will change the effect of the rest of the programs action based on the number inputed.

I created a java JApplet, with a JTextPane inside.
I want the user to be able to change the language using the
combination keys "alt + shift",
but when I'm pressing ALT I'm loosing the focus (to the browser),
so it's not working.
When I'm holding the ALT key, and than pressing the Shift key twice!, It is working.
How can I fix it so it will work with regular "alt + shift"?

So, I'm new to all the buying-on-iTunes experience and have a doubt regarding the language of the film I'd be about to buy. The thing is I live in Germany and was about to buy a film on iTunes —for the first time as currently stated— but I wouldn't like to have the film dubbed in german —which is how they normally have them here—, instead, I'd like to have it in its original language; english. ¿How could I do this? ¿Is it even possible to change the language even though I'm on the german store/live in Germany? Just bought an Apple TV from the France Apple store. I've got a few films that I've purchased from the iTunes store too. The ones I've purchased there are both in English and French. Not all films are done in two languages but it seems that if the original version is in English, then it will have both.
As for switching between two languages, I just ran into that problem. I sent the video from my laptop to the Apple TV. On my computer it would play in English but played on the TV, it would play only in French.
Solution, you don't have a simple menu icon to click on, or button on the Apple TV remote. You'll have to go into settings --> audio and video -- > Audio Language (or subtitle language if you are looking for that).
If it is set to "Default" it chooses the language you hear. I heard French probably because I bought the film in the French iTunes store. When I chose "English" as the Audio Language, the film switched to English.
I hope this helps you and others who run into the same question.

You don't.
They are templates.
They use Latin (which frightens some people) so you don't get caught up with what it actually says.
You simply select and replace it with your own material because they are placeholders.
You learn a bit about how Pages works starting with the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf and Video Tutorials, both under the Help menu..

if you hid the menu bar and the navigation bar simply press the alt button, this will bring back the menu bar and form there you can right click and select which bars you want shown

Use a normal question, and do not add the score to the total score. That will give you a correct score at the end. But the total number of questions, that system variable will still take into account all questions. You'll need a user variable, and calculate its value by subtracting 1 from the system variable cpQuizInfoTotalQuestionsPerProject. Same for the progress indicator if you want to show it?

If you want to allow Review, you'll have to tweak as well. You didn't specify the version, and all those questions I now mentioned.
