Hi,
i have a file in this location
File file = new File(MyFile.doc)
file.getParent(); returns
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\xyz
now from the string obtained i just want to get the value "xyz".i.e. i want to get the name of the parent directory.
how is it possible

You may use String.indexOf()if(file.getParent().indexOf("/myProject/myPackage") != -1) {
...Or you might use regular expressions and Matcher class (or String.matches()) in case of higher complexity.

You can dojava.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName()to get the name of the computer. But this will not give you the "domain name of the user". In Windows, for example, when I sign on to my computer, that user name only means something to my computer. There's no "domain", in the Internet sense, involved.

How to get a name of the current marker?

I have two director files with same identical marker names (2

ok, now the really cool method. You can get any marker name
whether it's
above the current frame or not.
mkrName = (the markerList)[(marker (0)).string]
will give you the marker above the current frame or the first
marker to the
left of the current frame if there is no marker above the
current frame.
Similarly,
mkrName = (the markerList)[(marker (1)).string]
will give you the first marker to the right of the current
frame whether
there is a marker above the current frame or not. You can see
how you can
get the name of any marker just by changing the parameter of
the marker ()
function.
If you're worried that the first example doesn't tell you
whether the marker
is above or behind the current frame a simple test will do.
if marker (0) = the frame then
-- this is true when the marker is on the current frame
end if

For an Exchange Activesync account, how do you get your friendly "Name" to show in the From: field rather than email address ([email protected])?
I seem to be able to do this fro IMAP/POP accounts but not Exchange Activesync.
All the discussions I've found about gmail and Activesync seem to be centered on getting your messages to show a different return email address than your exchange account. I'm not looking for this, just to show the Name.

If you add a contact ("Contacts app>> "+">> enter info) with that email address, it will appear in mail with whatever name you set in the email address' contact.

In the second line of code I was getting the NPE
after that I used to if condition to debug it

I don't know if I understand your question, but you cannot find the class name because it is in run time just an object. You can, however, check if it is an instanceof.

How to get host name in the workflow?

I've a requirement where I need to get CQ Inbox url (http://<hostname>:<port>/inbox) in my custom workflow process. I thought of configuring url to some node and retriving from there.. but It's not the good approach as host name will be different for differnt CQ environments. So what is the best way of getting inbox url?

Yep Justin, If the configuration is wrong, any link generated would also be wrong.. I mean, default configuration will be some thing like..
I mean, I can change those configurations as per my instance host name, right?
Example: my instance's host url is: mytest:1501
So I would like to update the same in configurations ..

You can't get hold of the variable name at runtime. If you want that output, you'll need to create it like this:
x servlets=new x("servlets");so that the x.toString() can know which string to print out.

I have two EBS standard forms "Supplier Entry" and "Supplier View Only" defined as two separate functions in the menu. Depending on which function was launched by the user I have to do some extension.
I found that following code can be used to know whether function is available in the menu or not. But the problem occurs in situation where both functions are available to the user and since the logic fail.

after doing some process on each i do save the output as output.txt
can i add the file name before or after the output.txt
i.e i want the name of the file to be part of the saved output
filenameOutput.txt
or
outputFilename.txt

Just write it - somewhere in your code you have to have the file name anyway, or you couldn't write to that file.

I've scenario a where in I need to pick up a mail with an attachment and change its extension and send it to target system using file adapter.
I'm able to pick up the mail with attachment using sender mail adapter but not able to get the name of the attachment so that I can use it in mapping or on the adapter configuration. How do I read the name of the attachment and manupulate it?
I looked at the thread sender mail adapter - attachment name But the solution is not described. I think Stefan is talking about the SP!2 for PI 7.0. I'm on XI 3.0 what is the equivalent SP for that, SP20? Stefan, can you please throw me more light on it?

can we get the name of fmx file which is doing some DML operation on a specific table Can we back track which fmx module has done DML on a specific table. The reason I need this because I've 7 different fmx files which are doing some DML operation on a specific table and these fmx files were used by different users. Not necessarily 1:1 For eg. one user can do DML through 3 different fmx files. So in such case if I want to want to know from which fmx file this DML has take place .How can I achieve that. I know I can get the oracle username through v$session but it will not suffice my needs. I need the name of fmx file also.
I'm using:
Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production)
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
CORE 10.2.0.1.0 Production

For that you can set the Module Field in the V$session in each form by,
DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.SET_MODULE(MODULE_NAME => :SYSTEM.CURRENT_FORM, ACTION_NAME => USER);Write this in each form, and then you will get the form name in the V$SESSION's module field with form name.
