How to get the textLines in a RichText control

I am trying to get hold of the individual lines that make up the RichText control once I set the text on it. I am able to see the RichText.textLines property in the debug window (by creating a watch expression) - but when I try to access it in code, the compiler throws an error.
I even created a subclass of RichText and tried writing a getter for it, but still the same compiler error:
"Attempted access of inaccessible property textLines..."
Is there any other way I can do this?

Few of my use cases:
1. Since I am matching Flash to follow some other text rendering algorithm (SVG/Batik in this case), I would like more control over where to break, etc. I have a few edge cases where I need to know what goes in each line.
So I plan to inspect each TextLine and based on the TextLine.rawTextLength find out what text goes in each line. I would alter the text of the RichText control based on my set of rules.
2. Sometimes the RichText control displays partial last lines even when truncation is turned on. I want to manually add the textHeights of each line and ensure that none of them go out of the bounds.
I did try using a StringTextLineFactory to just create my own text control. But I ran into some other issues(setting the firstBaselineOffset). Hence i am using RichText control and using these techniques to gain fine control over the text's appearance.

No. You have to use the event. But if you simply disgard the activation, you
don't need to change it's run time menu. You'll need the event structure
anyway to catch the selected menu item.

An yet you keep getting suggestions of how to set the focus. I looked through the API documentation and I don't see anything that would suggest you can request to see where the current focus is. Perhaps someone might still come along with a solution, but my hopes wouldn't be too high at this point. I can pass the requirement onto Product Definition, as the use case does seem interesting. Perhaps it is something we have even considered in the past.
But for now, there might be a better way to solve your problem. It will probably mean redesign the interaction. What exactly are your requirements? Do you need to be able to get the data in a particular cell of table when a button is clicked? Just throwing out some ideas here, but maybe just use the lead selection to select the row, but then have a button choice to choose the action associated with the column you want. A hack for sure - but it might work. Also it doesn't help you right now, but in the near future update to NetWeaver 7.0, WDA does have a onColSelect event for the table.

How to get the name of a duplicated control or created control and add a callback to it

Depending on how many input points I need, I am duplicating a numeric or string input with the DuplicateCtrl function. My question is, how do I get the name and id of the control that was just created, and how can i assign a callback to it? Alternately, would it be better to create a fresh ctrl instead of duplicating?

why are you trying to get the control constant name? Keep in mind that you cannot use that name to address the control; control names are actually simply macros in the include file associated to the UIR, that is, the compiler preprocesses the code and wherever it finds PANEL_CONTROL names substitutes the corresponding numeric value as parameters to the functions (and consequently 'control' parameter is an int and not a char*)
That is why NewCtrl () or DuplicateCtrl () functions return a control ID: it is the handle to the new object, our only way to manipulate it. You will need to store this handle into a non-volatile memory so that you can access it durng program life.
Additionally, there are other ways to assign some particular meaning to a control than swiching on the control constant name. You could for example use the callbackData parameter to differentiate between different copies of a control.
Let me explain with an example. You told that you need several inputs (dynamically created as you don't know in advance how many of them to use); a clean solution could be to:
Design a master copy of one control in the UIR editor, where it is easy to customize it; assign also a callback function, if it has to be common to all copies of the control
Programmatically assign a callbackData value to that control, e.g. SetCtrlAttribute (..., ..., ATTR_CALLBACK_DATA, (void *)1);
Duplicate the control and then assign a different callbackData
for (i = 2; i < 5; i++) {
   handle = DuplicateCtrl (...);
   SetCtrlAttribute (..., handle, ATTR_CALLBACK_DATA, (void *)i);
By operating this way, every time the control callback is fired by any control it will receive the assigned callbackData, and you will be able to differentiate your code by a simple switch:
switch ((int)callbackData) {
   case 1:    // The master control
      break;
   case 2:    // The first duplicated control
      break;

Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.

The maximum displayed here under 'Length in bytes on the DB' is the maximum length permitted by the Dictionary. The reserve required for the release upgrade must be subtracted from this value.
To increase the allowed number of the value fields, increase the value that is assigned to field ikcge-bas_max_cnt (FORM init_ikcge_ke USING fm_subrc, approx. line 165) in Include FKCGNF20. It specifies the number of the possible value fields. The corresponding part of the source code is attached to the note as a correction.

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.

Hi,
You can use GetDatabankValue(HeaderName, Value) to get the value from databank and SetDataBankValue(HeaderName, Value) to set the value to databank.
You can refer to the API Reference to see list of associated functions and techniques we can use with related to Data Bank.
This is the for OFT but if you are using Open Script then you have direct access for getting the databank value but when it comes to setting a value you have to use File operation and write you own methods to do the set operation.

1. You can specify required property on LOV field to "yes". For events where you wish to disable the client side validations, set the property disable client side validation to "true".
2. If above behavior is not what you are looking for, then you need to handle in AM and not CO.
a. Call an AM method from CO.
b. In that AM method, get handle of VO.
c. Iterate the VO Rows and check for your validation rules.
