How to get Verizon FiOS SDK?

HI Folks, I'm trying to get Verizon FiOS SDK. Here's the link: https://www22.verizon.com/fiosdeveloper/General/Login.aspx
It doesn't say where to sign up so I asked support (using contact us form), but haven't got any response for over 2 days now.
Does anyone know how to get FiOS SDK?
Thanks,
GT

  • How can I get Verizon FiOS in my condo complex?

Hello I currently have Verizon DSL 3.0 and I want to get fios Internet only problem is Verizon hasn't installed fiber at my condo complex. Verizon is availabe in my city, can Verizon install fios in my condo? There's about 200 condominiums and half of them are interested in fios internet.

I expect over the course of a few months from setup to completion. It all depends on how quick everything goes with the Condo Board and what sort of setup Verizon needs to do. When talking to them about it, make sure you ask them to allow Verizon to bring in Fiber to each unit and install an ONT to each unit as well. You won't be wanting Verizon to come in with a VDSL or VDSL2 product as then your Condo won't be getting any higher speed Quantum tiers.

  • How to get the Extension SDK

I am new to JDeveloper and would like to explore how extensions can be added to JDeveloper. I have had some sample odes, but i cannot add the JDeveloper Extension SDK as a library because such a library is not listed in the list of available libraries. I tried downloading a few samples, even then the code would nt compile. When i checked the project properties for the added libraries, the entry for extesion SDK was there but with an error tag. It was seen that it was just a dummy entry and there was no corresponding library for it with my installation. I am having the JDeveloper 10g Studio Version 10.1.3.0.4.3673

At the bottom of the screen it says sending is disabled. I also don't see any way to create a message. No contacts show up either. I do receive text messages OK. But I have to use the generic messaging app to send a text.

I'm having very similar issues to LarryET above. I followed the directions from TominqueBo_VZW, but I could uninstall the updates only. Even uninstalling those and reinstalling them, I have no improvement. My greatest issue is the lack of pictures from the contacts. Some show, others don't with no discernable common thread.

  • How to get 10g SDK

It is not at all clear how to get the 10g SDK.
In a previous thread it was suggested by Jean-Marc Robillard:
"The Calendar SDK in part of the Oracle Universal Installer package with 10g, so when you select "calendar" as part of the installation, you have an option for the SDK pacakage, including the client-side libraries."
This doesn't really explain what is required to download or what cd/s are required.
Can you get the SDK without the Calendar Server ie. We want to use the 10g SDK with the 9.0.4 Calendar Server.
Also if you are installing 10g Calendar Server on say HP/UX but want the SDK for Windows how does this work?
    Regards
    George Richardson

To add another voice to the growing number of requests for a separate SDK package for various platforms ...
A colleague installed the 10gr1 server package on Solaris. In the ... oracle/product/10gr1 directory installed locally are multiple directories containing various shared library (.so) files and Java libraries (.jar) in the hierarchy. No 'readme' file, comparable to that found in the 9.0.4.2 distributions and the 10g SDK distribution for Mac OS X, could be found within that hierarchy. And it isn't clear which of these library directories and/or files should be referenced in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
Presumably, as a result of referencing one or more inappropriate directories, we've already received some comical errors, such as:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: [...]/libcsdkjni.so: ld.so.1: java: fatal: [...]/libclntsh.so.10.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Presumably, a packaged 10g SDK would mitigate some of these types of errors. :-)
For starters, where can the 'readme' files for the various SDK distributions, other than the one included with the relatively cohesive Mac OS X distribution, be found?

  • Verizon Fios is by far the worse for trying to get service

I have been signed up to get Verizon Fios since the end of July. It is now August 25. The first appointment I get a no call no show from a technician. After calling V and getting some answers the customer service rep said that the problem would be fixed and taken care of by my next appointment on the following Monday. I am fine and cool, not a problem. Monday comes a round and once again no call no show. This time I contacted V the rep said that the problem has not been fixed and I would have to wait and will receive a call when another appointment can be set up and the problem is fixed. The problem was supposedly an "engineering" problem that the apartment building does not have service but all the while I know others in the complex have fios because I have seen it in apartments and technicians installing them. The rep aslo asked if I gave them the right address and I was completely reading it off the complex website and she said that the address did not exist, when you can easly go on V's website and it will find the address when signing up for service. Eventually, a week later, I receive another email of another appointment and confirmed it. I contacted V to follow up and make sure its really going to get installed this time. I am even connected to the local dispatch and she confirms the appointment for Monday and I ask if it is possible to get it Sunday the 25th. It is August 25th and I am not trying to waste my time so I call V just to check the status of my technician and the rep, who by the way was the most rude and unprofessional representative I have ever talked to, said that there is a "fallout" "engineering" problem, tell me something I do not know, and that I would have to wait until Monday to call back and try to fix it. Same story but a different day. So that is three times, each time saying the problem was going to get fixed and not. I have been patient. I expect more from a company like Verizon.

I have had them all and must say that by far Verizon is the WORST service and has the WORST customer service ever. I joined and got a family plan (2 lines) to save money.
I’m at home with windows all around and a skylight. I have no problems at work  with a building with no windows on ground level, but I can’t get reception at home inside or outside.
For the 1st problem, why do you keep switching? Haven't you found a company with coverage that is good enough for you? No company has a signal EVERYWHERE. Have you been switching constantly because you choose to switch or your company forces you to switch? If the latter, you should complain to your company to go with the best service, not to ruin their business by going with substandard service. Additionally, no provider has the best signal EVERYWHERE. If your company is forcing you to switch, maybe you could suggest that they offer more than one provider for business phones. I know my company has contracts with AT&T, Sprint & Verizon. If you are constantly changing because you choose to change, then I would suggest that you pick the best footprint for you and then stick with it. Afterall, you have had them all, so you should know which would be best for you.
As to the second part, this sounds more like a location problem rather than a phone problem. NO provider has service in ALL locations.

  • Verizon FIOS, Time Capsule, and Airport Express - How to Extend Network

OK, I just got Verizon FIOS (TV, Internet, and phone). Don't care for the wireless router that is required to be used with it (want 802.11n and Time Capsule). I turned of the wireless on the Verizon FIOS router and installed a Time Capsule in Bridge Mode, which is how the Verizon rep told me to install it. As I understand it, the Verizon FIOS router is still handling DHCP, NAT, etc. I would like to extend the wireless network to reach some dead spots in my house. I have read that the Airport Express can be used to extend a wireless network from an Airport Extreme or Time Capsule, but it appears that I need to set up a WDS with the Time Capsule as the base station, which is apparently not possible on the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode. I am desperately seeking any advice on how to use Verizon FIOS, my Time Capsule, and extend the wireless network to reach the farther corners of the house. I am using a Macbook and a Thinkpad as well as an iPhone on the wireless network with a Dell desktop connected to the Time Capsule via Ethernet. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Before I switched, I had Cox Cable with a Buffalo wireless router and it had great range. Now I seem to be in a worse situation from a wireless perspective with higher TV and Internet quality. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the discussions!

If you have an AirPort Express(n), you can configure it to "extend a wireless network". This is a more efficient way to add additional wireless coverage (and much easier to configure than a WDS arrangement).
However, if you have an older "b/g" AirPort Express, you must use the WDS configuration method with this device and the Time Capsule if you want to increase your wireless coverage.

  • Verizon FiOS Nightmare.

I was really excited about getting Verizon FiOS but all its been is an ongoing bloody nightmare. The Tech came around and the install was fine. I ordered my service with a new phone number and that is where the problems started. I proceeded to the online registration site and registered. After logging in, all the information that came up on the page belonged to someone else. (the person who owned the phone number before me) I called Verizon and told them, they said that was normal and should update within 24 hours. That never happened. So 5 days later I called back and was probably transferred to every on in the bloody building only to be told it would update when I paid my first bill. Weeks went by I got my bill I paid it and still nothing happened. (Oh I also requested voice mail notification to my cell phone the first 2 times the person I spoke to didn't even know what I was speaking about. They eventually understood what I was requesting and said they put it on. To this day it hasn't worked) Anyway I called again about my online information then they come to find out that the phone number they gave me is still attached to another account and no one has ever seen that before. After 3 weeks of waiting and tech support not doing anything they suggested I change the phone number. I did that. Now onto the bloody Call Assistant (something Comcast has had for quite some time) complete with notification email)) I signed up and set everything up it worked well. I get to work next day.... the next {please keep your posts courteous} day!!!!!! Try to log in and is told my name isn't registered. I call tech support (a daily activity, along with talking to the stupid automated voice and sitting on hold for 25 minutes at a time) the {edited} I get doesn't even know what Call Assistant is. In rage I hang up, I call again at lunch and finally get it working. WT{edited} man!!!!! This is totally unbelievable. So after 2 months of total {edited} and talking to the {edited} techs......... I going back to Comcast. They may not have all the bells and whistles but at least what they have work well and the techs know about the products they offer.

Don't think it will work. What I would suggest is that you have Verizon run Cat 5 from the FiOS terminal to your roomates' room. There, install a wireless switch/base station with a Gigabit switch. I'm using a Dlink 655. You could then run some Cat 5 from your roomates' room to yours at full speed.
Verizon supplies their modem/router/base station to do easy retrofits like the one you describe.
Taking Cat 5 from the FiOS terminal eliminates the need for the modem.

  • Verizon tech support for FIOS - how to get around the attitude.

Most are helpful, but some are rather disdainful of macs or linux, or act surprised if you have more than one computer.
A: Well, if I only had one computer, why would I need a router?
Linux does not need any special support, and in fact runs quite beautifully on FiOS and the router without any setup at all. It recognizes the router and self-adjusts with DHCP auto. Actually it's much faster and less flawed than Windows.
Linux doesn't have any recognized or known virus. At all. FUD is generated at various times during calls to FiOS support when I make the mistake of mentioning linux. They act like it's going to break their network.
I'm an Admin from MSFT, and MSFT uses linux. Extensively. They just don't like to talk about it. "Seven" = NT 7.0. NT is MSFT's version of UNIX, which they licensed fom Novell.
So, even microsoft contains unix code. Tada.  Lets' drop the operating system arguments for now though.
I have three Dell servers, six Dell and HP desktops, and two laptops. All but two of them run linux full time, and only one is dual boot. Both laptops run linux exclusively and so do three of the desktops and ALL my servers. I've never in 12 years had a linux virus, and I never will. No, I don't even run a firewall, and there is no linux antivirus software accepted by the linux distributions, because it's useless. Not needed.
All of these machines, XP, Vista, Ubuntu, Slackware, and Red Hat Server run on four brainless hubs, or switches. A switch is not capable of DHCP or DNS routing. They are passive devices which are not capable of blocking a router. They only stop working when they die. You can have switches [hubs] in ANY conceivable chain or configuration, and they still work the same, as they all take commands from whatever routers you have.
The only router in my home is the verizon router. I have no need of others, but I've run dual and even triple routers before without a single problem. You set the extra routers to 192.168.2.1 instead of 1.1. Third router? 192.168.3.1. And so on. Painless.
None of these devices have yet failed or ever blocked internet access, yet half the time when I call verizon FiOS, the tech people tell me to connect directly to the router with my laptop. I've always just TOLD them that I did, but I never ever did that. It's not necessary. If you can't connect to 192.168.1.1, the router is dead. checking hubs is an astoundingly simple task that only takes a second... you just go to any other computer on that hub, or plug in my laptop, and see if you can get through. I've had one hub fail in the last 8 years, and that didn't fool me for more than a minute. I replaced it and was back in biz without tech support help.
ONLY in the instance where only ONE computer is down, does it make sense to isolate the router. Thus, the FiOS people are just trained to eliminate the obvious, but they also talk smack. MOCO? Why would I have a major OC24 type network connection in my home? I've been hit with just such questions. Wouldn't verizon know if I had a backbone connection through them???
Here's the deal: Buy your own equipment, and get warranties. Unless the external box, ONT I believe they call it, has died, you're not likely to get a lot of support anyway - since verizon will not talk about anything other than their router and the ONT.  Save time and just be aware of your own eqiupment. I'm on my sixth day of having no FiOS since Verizon sent me a new also bad router and now I'm awaiting another replacement by the UPS people. Speed is not a hot button issue with verizon service apparently, but they are better than comcast.
Good thing about verizon is that they don't appear to cap bandwidth, and for that I respect them no matter how much garbage I get from a few of the tech support staff. Even most of those people are pretty nice. One of them actually talked linux with me for a half hour, and that was a breath of fresh air.
Verizon needs to realize that there are three to six times more linux operating systems in use now worldwide than all windows products combined. The US Army and US Navy have switched to linux systems and dumped windows. I'm shopping for another new desktop, and I'm only buying penguin computers. I won't buy "7" because I've seen the source code, and don't have a high opinion of it. Linux is more robust, and for whatever reason, MSFT still refuses to implement the System Five and UNIX security levels that are inherent to a safe Operating System, and a kernel component of unix. I don't see why not. NT is capable, but all suggestions to turn it 'on' are ignored.
I want to see verizon get with the program and start to support linux. After all, it's fifteen times cheaper to maintain, and three times less expensive to develop for. Verizon would never have to deal with spyware and viruses from its users ever again. One day I hope verizon will wake up.
In the meantime, it would be nice if the tech support at FiOS wouldn't misinform clients and customers about linux, macs, and having several computers in the home. There's nothing at all wrong with that. I just bought a netbook from you folks and I'm using that now to get online.

All I have to say about that is, "People fear what they do not know." Everyone has a comfort zone. Some people's comfort zone is larger than others, or encompasses different aspects of life. Most Windows users aren't comfortable with Mac or Unix operating systems. Most English speakers aren't comfortable with foreign languages. Most two-year-olds aren't comfortable with spinach.
    C'est la vie.

Topic: Microsoft's Silverlight for Mac. I wanted to video stream a movie via Verizon FIOS. It demanded Silverlight.dmg.  Macbok Pro refused to download from 3rd party supplier (CNET). • How can I get my Cisco wireless router to wirelessly connect to my Verizon Fios Actiontec router?

I have Verizon Fios for internet, tv and phone. The Verizon Actiontec router is connected with a ethernet cable into my desktop and the internet is up and running. Now I bought a Cisco Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router, and I wanted to connect it to another desktop two floors up. I set up the Cisco router according to the instructions, but I'm not able to connect to the internet. It shows that my computer was able to get a Local Network connection, but internet connection keeps failing.... I tried changing the IP address. But I'm confused about the whole thing. Is the Default gateway number suppose to be the same for both routers? Is it possible that the Actiontec router isnt giving off a strong enough wireless signal? I'm open for suggestions! Thanks

    Mac or Windows machine?
Is the WRT connected directly to the upstairs computer? I don't think you can use the WRT that way?
Have you had a look here?:http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/General-Linksys-Router-FAQs/td-p/4286
I THINK you would have to have a WETxx (Ethernet Adapter)  instead?
If it connects to the Internet even breifly then I suppose that means your connected but it may be losing the signal and failng. You would porbably have ot get a WAP(Access Point) and use it as a repeater.
I'm a bit rusty on the names so I hope i got them right, hope it helps.....
