How to get video off lumia 800 onto laptop

Hi,
I have some videos taken at the weekend that I would like to preserve. I understand that Zune is the way to do this, so I downloaded the Zune install package and transferred it to my laptop. However Zune refuses to install as my laptop does not have its own internet connection. I'm now stuck.
Why does Zune require an internet connection?
Is there an alternative transfer method that doesn't have this restriction?
Please advise how I can retrieve my videos.
thanks.

The Zune software that most links direct you to are not a full installation package, so as the installation takes place only the bits of Zune that are needed for your specific computer are downloaded and installed to your computer at the time of installation. This keeps the installation download file small and generally makes the overall installation process run more efficiently, but an internet connection is required so the software bits can be installed as needed by your computer.
There is a complete & comprehensively self contained installation package that you can download that can be installed to a computer with no data connection. This software package is quite large and it takes longer to download it, but if that's how you want to install the software to your computer you can download the package here:

Of course you still need an internet connection on your computer whenever you update the phone's operating system.

  • How to get video off my computers hard drive?

After trashing preferences I forgot to change the scratch disks, to my external hard drive, and all the video was put on my computers hard drive.
Can someone tell me where to find the video on my hard drive, and then how to delete it off, it is about 100 GB of stuff.
    Thanks,
    Michael

Make sure you know exactly where you put it, and what the clip names are, because you'll have to reconnect media in any project this footage has been used in.

  • How to get video off my camera into iMovie

I now have a MacBook with the 08 release of iLife. I would like to get the video off my camcorder and into iLife to save the movies (primary) and play/edit with them (secondary).
However, here's the catch. My camcorder is an older hand-me-down. The only ports on it are s-video and "headphone" jack for audio. I have an adapter for my Windows box (shudder) that lets me do it, but I'd really like to use my Mac for that stuff and that adapter isn't marked mac-compatible.
anybody have any ideas? i've seen these Dazzle things in Best Buy, but they smell Windows-only. There's got to be SOMETHING that would allow me to get svideo sources recorded ... right?

If you know someone with a digital camera (miniDV) with appropriate ports you pay be able to use it to pass your video through, although you may need to record to the miniDV tape first.

How do you get photos off a digital camera and videos off a camcorder onto the iPad air?

You can use the camera connection kit.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD822ZM/A/lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader?f node=3a
If your camera has an SD card
or the lightening to USB for your videos
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD821ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter?fnod e=3a
(might also work for your camera)
The photo part is rather self-explanatory. as long as your photos are in the right format and with the right naming convention they should import right over. The video may be a bit more tricky. So you may want to do some more research and make sure your camera records a format the iPad will import and whether or not you need an app such as iMovie

    Good luck Friend.
That's not going to help.  That article is for moving photos from iOS device to computer, not for removing them.  Additionally, photos synced via iTunes cannot be manually removed from the device.  You have to use iTunes to 'unsync' them, as FoxFifth stated.
Camera Roll pictures are the only ones that can be imported from device to computer.  Album folders cannot be moved from device to computer.

  • How to get rid off 'long frames'

    when I import a movie into FCP and I use the tool 'long frames: mark';
marks many long frames in parts of the movie.
how to get rid off 'long frames'?
    thanks
    carlos

Long frames are frames whose duration is too long... however sometimes it doesn't matter as you don't see the problem in playback, so if you don't see a jitter there or something, I'd not worry about them.
Dropped frames are frames that are OK, however (usually) your drives can't play them back because they are too slow... they drop a frame to get to the next... this will look worse than long frames do usually.
All that said, if you don't see a problem, you don't have one. Dropping frames is worse though, and I'd suggest that you keep these media files on a fast drive system other than your startup disk. The data rate of the video will determine whether or not you need to use faster disk drives. SATA internals for example will handle 8 bit uncompressed files, but not 10 bit... FW drives range a lot in what they can handle, and the spec should always be MUCH faster than what the data rate actually is. For example, I use G-Raids for 8 bit uncompressed, and 4 gig fibre channel array for HD files. But FW 400 and 800 single drives work great all day long for DV res files, and the fastest of the 800's will handle 8 bit uncompressed if you don't fill them to the brim.

  • I have an old ipod and want to know how to get everything off it and into my iTunes library.  My old computer died and the original library was lost, so don't have any of the content saved anywhere else.

I have an old ipod (it's the very thin oblong one in purple, the one before the one that does video) and want to know how to get everything off it and into my iTunes library.  My old computer died and the original library was lost, so don't have any of the content saved anywhere else.  I now have an iPhone 5S and listen to music on that, so want to be able to listen to things from the old ipod too.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks very much
    Jane

Apple normally does not get involved in handling lost objects like this.  Since a real name is not installed it will be much more difficult.
You can try contacting Apple support at the US number, assume you are US going to BWI from the listing: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and explain the situation and see if they offer any suggestions.

  • How to get mackeeper off my mac?

How to get mackeeper off my mac?

    A
"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
    First, back up all data.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
If you have incompletely removed MacKeeper—for example, by dragging the application to the Trash and immediately emptying—then you'll have to reinstall it and start over.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the other functional components of the software will be deleted. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Let MacKeeper delete its other components before you empty the Trash.
☞ Don't try to drag MacKeeper from the Dock or the Launchpad to the Trash.
☞ Don't try to remove MacKeeper while running in safe mode.
    B
If you see popup ads for MacKeeper on websites where you haven't seen them before, see below.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • Quicktime Pro and getting videos off the web

I am bound and determined to get videos off the web and use them to make my own videos and what not. I was wondering if quicktime pro is the best program to use for my project. I have downloaded other programs that don't work and I am sick of the hassle. If there is a sure thing program anyone knows about, I'd love to know. Otherwise, it would be great to hear about quicktime pro and it's adeptness or otherwise at successfully getting videos off the web.

Okay I figured out how to do that, but once it is downloaded, I am still having trouble. I don't know which application to use to open the file. Quicktime won't open it because it says it's not a movie file. I downloaded a standalone player and that couldn't open it either. What do I do?

I forgot the passcode to turn off restrictions. I have restored my iPad back to the factory settings and then synced it with the latest backup. The restrictions are still on and it is asking for the passcode. Can someone tell me how to get that off.

The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings.  Hope you have a backup.
Follow the instructions in  iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

  • I still don't understand how to get video on my iPhone-HELP!

I have an iPhone and a iPod Classic and I just can't figure out how to get video on my either device, nothing I do works. I'm not talking about buying movies, etc from iTunes, I'm referring to videos I already have on my computer, converting them to the appropriate file extension (which I still have no idea what that is) and then where do I put these videos on my computer in order for iTunes to recognize them and pull them in?
I wish these devices were simplier to work with, where they acted as hard drives and you could just drag and drop what you wanted where and play them. But of course it has to be more complicated then this because Apple wants to control the users experience (sound familiar?)...I'm an advanced computer user and I have to admit that I'm embarrassed by the fact that I can't figure this out.
If anyone can give me SIMPLE instructions and a program to use to do video converstions I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Im not going to be a great help as im on OS X, bit Ill have a go:
For a number of reasons, iTunes and the iPod/iPhone only support a handful of types of video file. Mainly a file type called .mp4 which is normally h.264 with embeded metadata. This isnt a special Apple video file, and as long as it doesnt have DRM, can be played on many modern devices such as the Xbox360, PSP, PS3 etc.
The only limiting thing you have to watch out for is the resolution of the video as some devices will not be able to play the higher resolution content such as a 1080p HDTV stream on an iPhone, it just wont play!
So what you need to do, if you have videos in many different file types such as realplayer, wmv, and avi etc, you need top convert them to mp4, and then optionally add cover art and tag the file with show name etc.
None of this is built in, partly because Apple wants you to buy content rather than get it elsewhere, and partly as itts a little more complicated than making an mp3 at the moment.
On my Mac I use a program called Handbrake (free) that can rip from DVD to an iphone version, and a program called VisualHub that can convert just about any video type to iphone format. After encoding the video, i use a program called MetaX to correctly tag the video fiels so that they are easy to find in iTunes and so that I can make smart playlists etc. Do this and the files in iTunes act just like if you had purchased them from the store.
Now, I dont know whats good for Windows, but I did a google search and found this which is free and for Windows:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
For tagging, this may be ok:

Also, I just found this guide which goes into more detail if you want it:
