  • How to get videos off my ipod back on my computer

    I have to send my ipod back to have it fixed or replaced and Some of the videos I put on my ipod I deleted out of I tunes because my computer has a lack of space for all of it. I told the representative on the phone this and she told me someone online could tell me how to get videos off of my ipod and back on to my computer.

    also, i don't know if you know this. is it possible to take my ipod into the apple store to have them fix it or replace it or do I have to mail it off. I didn't buy it at the apple store i bought it at circuit city.

  • I still don't understand how to get video on my iPhone-HELP!

    I have an iPhone and a iPod Classic and I just can't figure out how to get video on my either device, nothing I do works. I'm not talking about buying movies, etc from iTunes, I'm referring to videos I already have on my computer, converting them to the appropriate file extension (which I still have no idea what that is) and then where do I put these videos on my computer in order for iTunes to recognize them and pull them in?
    I wish these devices were simplier to work with, where they acted as hard drives and you could just drag and drop what you wanted where and play them. But of course it has to be more complicated then this because Apple wants to control the users experience (sound familiar?)...I'm an advanced computer user and I have to admit that I'm embarrassed by the fact that I can't figure this out.
    If anyone can give me SIMPLE instructions and a program to use to do video converstions I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    Im not going to be a great help as im on OS X, bit Ill have a go:
    For a number of reasons, iTunes and the iPod/iPhone only support a handful of types of video file. Mainly a file type called .mp4 which is normally h.264 with embeded metadata. This isnt a special Apple video file, and as long as it doesnt have DRM, can be played on many modern devices such as the Xbox360, PSP, PS3 etc.
    The only limiting thing you have to watch out for is the resolution of the video as some devices will not be able to play the higher resolution content such as a 1080p HDTV stream on an iPhone, it just wont play!
    So what you need to do, if you have videos in many different file types such as realplayer, wmv, and avi etc, you need top convert them to mp4, and then optionally add cover art and tag the file with show name etc.
    None of this is built in, partly because Apple wants you to buy content rather than get it elsewhere, and partly as itts a little more complicated than making an mp3 at the moment.
    On my Mac I use a program called Handbrake (free) that can rip from DVD to an iphone version, and a program called VisualHub that can convert just about any video type to iphone format. After encoding the video, i use a program called MetaX to correctly tag the video fiels so that they are easy to find in iTunes and so that I can make smart playlists etc. Do this and the files in iTunes act just like if you had purchased them from the store.
    Now, I dont know whats good for Windows, but I did a google search and found this which is free and for Windows:

    For tagging, this may be ok:

    Also, I just found this guide which goes into more detail if you want it:

    Good luck!

    Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
    If you use iPhoto for this with any other digital camera, you can use iPhoto for this. Or you can use the Image Capture application for the import if you don't use iPhoto.

  • HT201302 how to transfer video from computer to ipad

    How to transfer video from computer to ipad?

    Does the video meet the format requirements?
    Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
    Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
    Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
    Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do get video to hdmi TV port without using apple tv?

    My new non retina macbook pro 13 inch is supposed to arrive soon.  My old 42 inch Vizeo only has one hdmi port that works so I was planning to use it a s moniter  for  my DAW.  The apple tv is for the living room, not the room where my DAW is.  But as far as I can tell there is no mini display or anything on this computer other than thunderbold , usb and  firewire, the firewire to be used for my MOTU audio interface. Any ideas on how to get this old  VIzeo  to be external moniter basically

    Take a look at this;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241
    There's some additional links in there to the products themselves. Will allow you to connect it to the HDMI port on the TV and not have to use the Apple TV.

  • I need help on how to get my new computer to sink with my ipod. Help

    Can some one please tell me how to get my ipod and Itunes to sink right on a new updated computer with out eracing everthing. I have lots of pictures that I had on the computer and lost. they are all on the ipod and don't know how to get them off or get it connected with itunes. I entered my password and everything. Sequoiah

    Take the cord and plug it into the computer. Now plug your phone in(make sure iTunes is installed on computer: www.apple.com/iTunes) you can now sync the photos music and every thing else.
    after doing that you can do this:
    To sync with the computer, make sure you are signed in on both iPhone and computer with the same account. You can go to Settings then iCoud and switch automatic syncing of photos, songs, etc. this will put it all back on. It will save everything "on the cloud"

  • How to get my apple computer to let me log into it remotely

    how do I get my apple computer to let me log into it remotely from another computer?

    First, you should be asking this question is the Mac OS X forum associated with the version of Mac OS X you are running (Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite).  If you tell use the version of Mac OS X you are using, we can ask the moderators to move this post to that forum.
    Back-to-My-Mac is what you would use if both Macs are yours using the same Apple iCloud account.
    <https://www.apple.com/support/icloud/back-to-my-mac/>
    <Set up and use Back to My Mac - Apple Support>
    If you are trying to connect to someone else's Mac (a family member, or friend), then you can use iChat (older versions of Mac OS X) or Messages to initiate Screen Sharing.
    <Messages (Mavericks): Share your screen>
    You could also use TeamViewer.com which is very good at connecting to a remote Mac (or Windows, as it is cross-platform) across the internet and navigating through home routers.
    <http://TeamViewer.com>
    The next level of complexity would involve opening ports in the destination home router.  This is non-trivial, and hopefully one of the above 3 methods will do the job.  PortForward.com has documents providing step-by-step guides on how to setup port forwarding for a huge list of routers
    <http://portforward.com/>
    Again, hopefully, you do not need this level of complexity.  But if you do please let us know.
